Even though we are talking about macOS here, the problem also exists on
Windows. The image can only be loaded under Linux. The problem should be
reported to libheif with the sample image.

[Discover] [Bug 458686] New: KWalletManager cannot be installed

2022-09-03 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458686

Bug ID: 458686
   Summary: KWalletManager cannot be installed
   Product: Discover
   Version: 5.23.5
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: discover
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: hugeri...@gmail.com
CC: aleix...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
KWalletManager fails to open in Discover and I am unable to install it. The
error is encountered whether trying to access the KWalletManager install page
from KRunner or from the official website.
Trying to update Discover by following its link from the official website also
encounters the same error.

I need to install KWalletManager to be able to remove saved credentials from
Dolphin. Despite kdewallet clearly functioning, there seems to be no way for a
user to access it themselves without KWalletManager, even though the system
automatically opens a window with it to save network credentials.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to https://apps.kde.org/kwalletmanager5/
2. Click "Install on Linux"
3. Allow site to open appstream link with System Handler

OBSERVED RESULT
Discover opens to the page "Error — Discover" which displays "Could not open
appstream://org.kde.kwalletmanager5"

EXPECTED RESULT
Discover opens to app page and allows install.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
SteamOS 3.3.1
KDE Plasma Version:
5.23.5
KDE Frameworks Version:
5.90.0
Qt Version:
5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I need to be able to access and delete the credentials Dolphin has saved in
kdewallet.

You can use your phone or PC as speaker and mic, by simply connecting one
device to the other via Bluetooth settings, you don't even need kdeconnect.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Update appimage
2. Remove old version from Latte Dock
3. Pin new version to Latte Dock
4. Position appimage to towards the left.
5. Appimage icon greys out and becomes inactive.
6. Clicking on other apps already open on the desktop sends the appimage icon

7. The app next to where the appimage was moved to is now greyed out and
inactive.

OBSERVED RESULT
Killing Latte Dock then restarting the dock re-activates greyed out icons but
apps refuse to be positioned.

EXPECTED RESULT
Pin app to dock and drag to position the app. The app remains active and stays
pinned to allocated position. Other nearby apps remain active.

You know, I think I finally understand why I opened this bug request.
Go to clipboard settings, change the state from "Never save in history" to
"Only when explicitly copied".
What happens is you need to restart plasmashell for the change to take place,
so I never noticed that this option did what I wanted.

My German is inadequate, but it might be useful if you would expand the
"details" and copy what it says. (The text is easier to deal with than the
screenshot.
Thanks.

This is seems like an issue with the QML Slider and I've made a bug report at
https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-106229.

I'm not sure if they're going to fix it or if this is just something we should
workaround, though the workaround is quite simple by setting the handle width
explicitly.

[kmymoney] [Bug 458680] New: "kmymoney -n" does not remember there is no file open

Summary: "kmymoney -n" does not remember there is no file open
   Product: kmymoney
   Version: git (master)
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: ostrof...@users.sourceforge.net
  Target Milestone: ---

If you run "kmymoney file" then quit followed by "kmymoney" it opens "file" as
the last file it had open. On the other hand, if you run "kmymoney filen" then
quit, then "kmymoney -n" it opens with no data file. If you then quit and run
"kmymoney" it will open "file" and not remember that no file was open the last
time it was running.

If the intent is literally to open the last file which was open in the program,
then this behavior is correct. However, I would expect it to open the file
which was open when kmymoney last ran, including remembering that no file was
open.

Is this behavior intentional, or an unintended edge case?

Note, the behavior seems the same in both 5.1 and master branch.

Indeed a bug has been opened for this issue here:

It seems it's related to the GPU not ramping the VRAM frequency up to the
necessary level.
I'm closing this as it's unrelated to KDE then.

A (not so) fun fact: Dolphin actually does respect the locale, and en_DK time
is actually *not* supposed to be in ISO-8601, being seemingly a long-time POSIX
bug/mistype that was never fixed. KDE seems to use its own locale files which
follows what en_DK is "supposed" to be, which is the crappy DD/MM/ format.

To get KDE and by extension Dolphin to actually use ISO-8601, switch to en_SE
instead.

Layout shifts left or right when sliders are clicked on

SUMMARY

After https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-workspace/-/merge_requests/2055 got
merged, clicking on the sliders shows a message below them saying 'This is what
--- color temperature will look like when active.'. Unfortunately, whenever the
message changes the whole page shifts left or right (check the attached video
for details). Maybe the message could be removed (as it's obvious it's only a
preview).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the Night Color KCM
2. Enable effect
3. Click on the sliders

OBSERVED RESULT

The page will shift left or right when the message shows up

EXPECTED RESULT

The layout should shift positions

Bug ID: 458675
Summary: New Day/Night color: Scrolling over the color

  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_nightcolor

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

After https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-workspace/-/merge_requests/2055 got
merged, scrolling over the sliders that set the temperature previews the
changes as expected, however, the screen doesn't get changed to normal after
the user stops scrolling or even leaves the page. To go back to normal the user
needs to click on the sliders. Maybe when the user scrolls over the sliders, it
should preview the color only for a set period, like 5 seconds, and then go
back to normal.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Night Color KCM
2. Enable the effect
3. Scroll over the color temperature sliders

OBSERVED RESULT

The color preview doesn't leave the screen even after leaving the page and
discarding the changes.

EXPECTED RESULT

It should preview the color temperature and then go back to normal.

I should also add that when you first load the KCM with the 'Activate blue
light filter' checkbox disabled, it starts with the 'Locating..." loading
indicator, but it only shows the text with the time the filter will be applied
when you enable the effect. Maybe the indicator should only show up in the
brief period when the effect is enabled and it's loading your GPS information,
otherwise, it will stay there indefinitely.

Bug ID: 458674
Summary: New Day/Night filter: Activating and deactivating it
makes loading progress bar overlap text
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

 Component: kcm_nightcolor

Loading indicator overlaps text

SUMMARY

After https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-workspace/-/merge_requests/2055 got
merged, with the setting 'Sunset and Sunrise at Current Location' enabled,
enabling 'Activate blue light filter', waiting for your location info to get
loaded, and disabling it makes the loading progress bar overlap the text that
says when the colors will change. (See attached screenshot).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the Night Color settings page
2. Activate blue light filter and wait for the text saying when the colors will
change to come up
3. Disable the filter

OBSERVED RESULT

The loading progress bar overlaps the text (see attached screenshot)

EXPECTED RESULT

Since it already loaded the information it needed, it should probably not show
a new loading indicator after you disable the filter.

[kwin] [Bug 458549] Random whole screen flashes/flicker on the desktop on Wayland when using AMS

2022-09-03 Thread Zamundaaa
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458549

Zamundaaa changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Resolution|--- |UPSTREAM
 Status|REPORTED|RESOLVED

KWIN_DRM_NO_AMS=1 effectively contains what KWIN_DRM_USE_MODIFIERS=0 does, so
that explains why disabling AMS also solves the problem.

The only error I see is that with KWIN_DRM_NO_AMS=1 set you get a large amount
of these:
> kwin_wayland_drm: Page flip failed: Device or resource busy
which isn't necessarily ideal but with atomic modesetting enabled there's not a
single warning or anything that I think would be relevant.

As KWin has no information about the monitor flickering it can't do anything
against it. The two things that could be at fault are either the GPU driver or
possibly even the scanout hardware in the GPU. I recommend you to report this
at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues and use the
KWIN_DRM_USE_MODIFIERS=0 workaround until it's fixed

[konqueror] [Bug 458646] First time open konqueror after clean install

2022-09-03 Thread Stefano Crocco
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458646

It's a known issue: the reason is that the taskbar entry is wrong: it points to
the kfmclient_html.desktop file instead of konqbrowser.desktop. I think that,
unfortunately, this is Plasma issue rather than one of Konqueror itself. I
don't know how the taskbar decides which buttons to add, so I can't fix it. I
tried to contact the Plasma developers about this issue in the past, but with
no results.

As a workaround, you can go to /usr/share/applications using a graphical file
manager and drag the file konqbrowser.desktop to the quicklaunch area in the
task bar, just besides the broken one: even if the icons are the same, you can
recognize the new one because it has a tool tip.

[kstars] [Bug 458640] PHD2 Timing Out, INDI and Kstars/PHD2 don't agree

2022-09-03 Thread Rob
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458640

What I am thinking of with reducing variables would be to see if using the
internal guider vs using PHD2 is causing the issue. Then to try not using the
indi driver for the guide camera and using the internal driver in PHD2 for the
guide camera instead. Then to try using an ethernet connection instead of a
wireless connection. Then to try running kstars on the same computer rather
than remotely. Each test could try to see if a particular thing has an effect,
then you can isolate the problem. But first, it needs to be reproducible.

This is a plain KMessageWidget, we set not colors.
I assume that widget doesn't react on palette change.

I would assume one needs some logic to find the first directory with an .csproj
file like e.g. the vim plugin does do it.

https://github.com/nickspoons/vim-sharpenup/blob/master/autoload/sharpenup/legacycsproj.vim

Would that help? Does your project have such a file?

Unfortunately ATM we only allow a fixed list of names for such a root directory
search via

"rootIndicationFileNames": ["pubspec.yaml"],

[kstars] [Bug 458640] PHD2 Timing Out, INDI and Kstars/PHD2 don't agree

2022-09-03 Thread Jon Bryan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458640

It’s happened a number of times, but this was the first time I got it going
again without restarting Kstars on both ends. There may be some issue with my
Xfinity router, because I’ve had several occasions when images were coming
across really slow and I “fixed” it by rebooting the router, but that doesn’t
seem to be related to this problem with it timing out and exposure time getting
out of sync. I’ll certainly let you know if I figure out a way to reproduce
it.

7. Tried saving to Downloads dir instead, no change.
8. "wget" of that link works.

OBSERVED RESULT
File did not get saved to disk.

[plasmashell] [Bug 458667] New: Plasmashell gets confused about displays in a 3 display setup when one display is disconnected/reconnected/changed online

2022-09-03 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458667

Bug ID: 458667
Summary: Plasmashell gets confused about displays in a 3
display setup when one display is
disconnected/reconnected/changed online
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.25.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Multi-screen support
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: dinumar...@gmail.com
CC: aleix...@kde.org, notm...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

I have a 3-monitor setup around my laptop:
1) Native laptop display
2) Displayport display, usually connected and turned on
3) HDMI port is connected to a HDMI switch which can route it to a HDMI
projector, external soundsystem, etc. HDMI IDs supplied by the HDMI switch can
vary (from disconnected to various display ids)
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Multi-display setup (I use 3)
2. Disconnect and reconnect display(s) online (no restart); switch one display
with a different ID display; flip the notebook lid up and down (to turn off
native display). It's just the physical connect and disconnect and state change
of the displays, don't touch any settings.

OBSERVED RESULT

Any of the above operations will result, not always but at random times, in
some of these consequences:
- Displays IDs switched (Display 1 listed as Display 2 and vice-versa, physical
characteristics flipped). Probably upstream.
- Display IDs duplicated (Display 1, Display 1). Probably upstream.
- Toolbars swapped between displays, even when the final configuration is
identical to the initial configuration. The toolbar "dance" gets persisted:
even if immediately restarting computer, primary display toolbars remain moved
on secondary or vice-versa
- Toolbars wrongly sized on displays
- Primary display switch not working in settings to change primary display
- Display positions moved around the global rendering coordinates, even when
final config is identical to initial
- HDMI display resolution or scaling changed for previously known display
(including when final = initial)

Some of these problems seem upstream (cannot be fixed until rebooting the
system); duplicate device IDs seems to be one of them.

Others are immediately fixed by plasmashell --replace

EXPECTED RESULT
- Previously known configurations retain the same primary display, as well as
per-display resolution, scaling, and global coordinates
- Toolbars are properly positioned
- Toolbars never jump from primary display to a secondary or vice-versa

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Plasma 5.25.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.97.0
Qt Version: 5.15.5
Display ports: Intel HD 4600 (possibly relevant for upstream bugs)

Is there any downside to simply

I notice the same after an upgrade from Kubuntu 20.04 to 22.04. Although I'm
sure it's a bug in Plasma Browser Integration. AFAIK There is a broader issue
with communication between snapped Firefox and other applications (for example
KeepassXC). The fix for this is not in stable channel of the Firefox snap yet
if I understand the following thread in Ubuntu Discourse correctly:
https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/call-for-testing-native-messaging-support-in-the-firefox-snap/29759/57
That thread is an interesting read anyway ;)

[Falkon] [Bug 458664] All:revert - CSS property not applied in Falkon Browser

2022-09-03 Thread KiBLS
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458664

Ok, it seems as if I can tinker the whole thing together with the attribute
initial instead of revert. Although I then have to completely redesign my
buttons, but well, then that's no longer a problem.

Facing the same issue. I am on windows 11 and iOS 15.4.1. I was able to get it
to work just once. To make it work I had to
1. Close the app on both the devices
2. Re connect to the same network on both the devices

But after some time when my phone got locked(as it happens automatically when
it stays idle for sometime), the connection between my phone and laptop was
broken. The devices did not reconnect after unlocking. So I followed the steps
mentioned above hoping that it would work again but this time the it did not
work.

Laptop - Windows 11
Phone - iOS 15.4.1
App version - 0.2.1(2)

[Falkon] [Bug 458664] New: All:revert - CSS property not applied in Falkon Browser

2022-09-03 Thread KiBLS
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458664

Bug ID: 458664
Summary: All:revert - CSS property not applied in Falkon
Browser
   Product: Falkon
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian unstable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: now...@gmail.com
  Reporter: ki...@disroot.org
  Target Milestone: ---

This style property is apparently not supported by Falkon at all although it
exists in Chrome since version 37 and in FF since version 27.

https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/all

Example see on my website, under each poem the first style properties remains
although I applied "all:revert" to all elements. In the normal (mainstream)
browsers everything is displayed correctly, only in the Falkon browser the
styles are not applied.

https://kibls.neocities.org/en/book6.html

Do I have an error in my CSS? But obviously the property all.Revert is not
applied because otherwise the form would be designed differently. Is there a
solution for this?

Best regards from germany

[konsole] [Bug 457028] Profiles are not saved correctly

I can confirm this. Newly created profiles will not save. When I create a new
profile the "Edit" Button will work. But when you click "Apply" and re-open the
profile manager the previous created profile is gone. It will simply never be
saved.

[kid3] [Bug 458662] Leading zeros are interpreted as octal numbers in "fromtag '%{disk}'" in kid3-cli

2022-09-03 Thread Andreas Tusche
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=458662

Understood. You solved my use case problem. And many thanks for that.

Anyhow, you may still want to look into the code, if you could avoid having
numbers with leading zeroes interpreted as octal.
