[plasma-nm] [Bug 462991] New: Wrong speed is displayed immediately after applet opening
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=462991 Bug ID: 462991 Summary: Wrong speed is displayed immediately after applet opening Classification: Plasma Product: plasma-nm Version: 5.26.4 Platform: Archlinux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: applet Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: beaux_mo...@tut.by Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Right after the network applet has been opened, the speeds are displayed incorrectly. It looks like the traffic is accumulated since the time when the applet had been opened last time and it is used to calculate the speeds. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Connect using some connection (it doesn't matter, which kind -- Wi-Fi, wired). 2. Open for several seconds the network applet and close it. 3. Start some traffic consuming operation (downloading, listening internet radio, watching video -- yeah, this is most interesting part )) and wait some time. 4. Again open the network applet. OBSERVED RESULT Right after applet opening, the speeds shown are inadequately high. And they are the more inadequate the more time was run since the applet was opened. I.e., it looks like traffic is accumulated all the time (regardless if the applet is opened or not), but the speed is calculated only when the applet is opened. The traffic diagram also shows a spike at the beginning, so that following traffic is most likely will be invisible (because of diagram's scaling). EXPECTED RESULT The speed-meters should contain actual traffic speed, without its accumulation. As well, the diagram. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux updated on 2022-12-12 KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.101.0 Qt Version: 5.15.7 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I'm not sure which version on, but this bug was being fixed. I.e., during a couple of months in this year, the speeds were being shown right. Also, in KDE the “On suspend, hibernate after a certain time” box can always be checked, but is saved only if an auto-suspend timeout is set, which is annoying because on may want the system not to go to suspend automatically, but go to hibernate after some time whenever it has been manually suspended. [KScreen] [Bug 460341] On X11 with proprietary NVIDIA GPU drivers, external monitor disabled after reboot or wake-from-sleep

I use an NVIDIA card, two monitors. One of the monitors is switched between this machine and another. Have been using this setup for ages. Prior to October, when I switch the monitor to the other machine, KDE notices and automatically puts all windows on one screen; then, when I switch the monitor back KDE notices and uses both screens. Since October, KDE does notice when I switch from 1 monitor to 2: In the "Display Configuration" section of System Settings, I can see the second monitor present, but the "Enabled" button is UNchecked. I need to manually check it, then apply --> then the two-monitor configuration is restored. Happens 100% of the time when I switch the monitor. Attached is the "kscreen-console bug" output for the broken configuration: both monitors connected, but one is not enabled. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[frameworks-kcoreaddons] [Bug 457529] dolphin hangs when copying multiple files from fish
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=457529 --- Comment #27 from Felix Ernst --- (In reply to Harald Sitter from comment #26) > It's not lining up with our requirements anymore. QMimeData creation for > drag events is synchronous, we'd need it to be asynchronous because fusing > URLs for non-KDE apps does take [time]. I familiarised myself with the issue a bit now and have an idea. Let me know if I am missing something. How about we duplicate the `QMimeData` object, run `exportUrlsToPortal()` in a separate thread on that copy of the data while the drag operation with the original `QMimeData` is already happening, and then as soon as `exportUrlsToPortal()` is complete, we switch the `QMimeData` of the on-going drag-operation with the enriched `QMimeData` from the `exportUrlsToPortal()` call by using `QDrag::setMimeData()`? If we do this, the only remaining problem is when quickly drag-hovering over a sandboxed application while `exportUrlsToPortal` hasn't completed yet. To avoid any confusion with this we should show a loading cursor as long as `exportUrlsToPortal()` is still ongoing. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
