Not everyone uses, or even wants, systemd. (Or linux, for that matter.) Please don't add dependencies on it. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=463263 --- Comment #1 from Maik Qualmann --- I don't quite understand the problem of how you organize your collections. Is it about them being able to see which collection is mounted in the album tree? Or do you have identical albums on different hard drives and want to know which hard drive it is? Set up A folder for Archiving via Settings/Configure Kmail/Accounts/Receiving/Archive Folder 1. Open Settings/Configure Keyboard Shortcuts 2. Filter/Search by "archive" 3. There are two options, "Archive" and "Archive Folder" 4. Select "Archive" 5. Set custom shortcut, I tried several and none worked, but for this example let's use Alt-A 6. Press Ok to save 7. Repeat 1-3 to confirm the setting is still there 8. Navigate to the folder set up for Archiving 9. Hit Alt-A 10. Email under cursor disappears and is moved to Archive location, as expected 11. Hit Alt-A a second time, nothing happens 12. Repeat 1-3 to observe that the shortcut has disappeared I am able to repeat this as often as I want, the shortcut gets deleted after first usage. I also tried the "Archive Folder" option in step 3, in this case the shortcut is not deleted, behaves as expected. EXPECTED RESULT Shortcut is not deleted after first use. [kwayland-integration] [Bug 463282] New: KDE Wayland blocks pressing Meta key and freezes all widgets and panels on Desktop when playing Steam game or using some apps e.g Vivaldi
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=463282 Bug ID: 463282 Summary: KDE Wayland blocks pressing Meta key and freezes all widgets and panels on Desktop when playing Steam game or using some apps e.g Vivaldi Classification: Plasma Product: kwayland-integration Version: unspecified Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: zeskot...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When I am playing any game on Steam, I want to press Meta/Window-key to open KDE menu and minimize this game, but in reality the pressing Meta-key does not work and this game does not be minized and stays on Desktop. I saw all widgets e.g. the clock and system monitoring are froren on my other monitor (That means, they are blocked by Wayland when playing gaming or some apps e.g Vivaldi). I have to manually click and close the game with the mouse, then the pressing Meta-key works back fine and all widgets are unlocked by Wayland. OR I have to move the mouse cursor OUTSIDE of any game or the window of some app e.g.Vivaldi, then the Meta-key and all widgets are free. That happens after some KDE update. But I am sure KDE Wayland had no issue before this update. Switch to X11 that has no isssue. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Go KDE Wayland and use the latest version of KDE plasma on Manjaro Testing branch 2. Playing Steam game e.g. Dota 2 or using some browser e.g. Vivaldi (the mouse stays on this app more than 5 min) 3. Pressing Meta/Window-key 4. But this game is not minimized to the panel and KDE menu does not be opened. > Issue, because Meta-Key is blocked or frozen by Wayland 5. See a widget e.g. the clock is frozen too. OBSERVED RESULT - Pressing Meta-key does not work because it is blocked by Wayland or Kwin when playing game or using some app. - All widgets are frozen or blocked by Wayland on my other monitor. EXPECTED RESULT - Pressing Meta-key should work and does not be blocked like before. - All widgets should not be frozen when playing any game or using some app. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro KDE, testing branch and the latest version. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=463278 Bug ID: 463278 Summary: "Time from now" alarms are unexpectedly imprecise Classification: Applications Product: kalarm Version: 3.3.6 Platform: Kubuntu OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: djar...@kde.org Reporter: rwest...@bredband.net Target Milestone: --- STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open the dialog box for a new display alarm. 2. For the alarm time, select "Time from now" with a period of 1 minute, but don't click OK immediately. 3. Wait until the system time is 5 seconds before a whole minute, then click OK. OBSERVED RESULT The display alarm is triggered after 5 seconds, rather than the requested 1 minute. EXPECTED RESULT I expected the display alarm to trigger after 1 minute, precise to the second or so. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux distribution: Kubuntu 22.04.1 LTS KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.7 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.92.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 ADDITIONAL COMMENTS I assume the alarm trigger time is always converted to an absolute time, and that the truncation to whole minutes takes place because absolute times are only kept with minute precision. Fine for absolute trigger times, but not really adequate for relative times which could reasonably be a small number of minutes. For minimal changes, perhaps store the time with second precision and use that for triggering, but round to nearest minute when shown/edited as an absolute time in the UI? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Apart from some annoying but bearable intermittent bugs, there's one persistent issue I'm now encountering with Dolphin: Holding Control or Shift to copy or move files no longer seems to be working. Upon click-dragging an item, I'm always asked if I want to either copy or move that item. The menu even shows the Control and Shift shortcuts, but it's as if the buttons are no longer detected. STEPS TO REPRODUCE Either open two Dolphin sessions or use one with split view. Go to different directories and click-drag files between them while holding the Control or Shift key down. OBSERVED RESULT Dolphin acts as if no key is being held. It will ask you whether to copy or move the file instead of automatically doing so based on the key held. EXPECTED RESULT On X11 holding Control while dragging the item copies it whereas holding Shift moves it without a prompt. [krunner] [Bug 340283] please add possibility to sort results returned by krunner by type
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340283 phrxmd changed: What|Removed |Added CC||philipp.reichm...@gmail.com --- Comment #55 from phrxmd --- KRunner is great - the best launcher I've used so far - but I would be very happy if this was customizable to some extent. For example, I'd like to be able to have applications ranked higher than recently opened files. Here are two use cases for that: - I open a downloaded AppImage to test it, then make a desktop file in ~/.local/share/applications for it. However since the AppImage counts as a recently opened file, the AppImage file is always listed above the desktop entry. - Sometimes when typing an app name in KRunner and hitting Enter quickly, the list of search results gets updated with some files from Baloo before I hit Enter. So Enter then opens a file instead of the app, and henceforth the file will now be ranked higher than the app because it now is a recently opened file. This has happened to me with Telegram: in between me typing "telegram" and hitting Enter, Baloo served up the Telegram icon file "telegram.svg", and since it now counts as a recently opened file, the icon file always gets ranked higher than the app and I need to press a few arrow keys to get the app. So an UI that would consistently have me rank certain results above or below certain other results would help me a lot. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I'd say the better fix would be to remove the xdg autostart variant and instead provide a systemd user unit that starts kdeconnect. Since Plasma is started by systemd units nowadays, this step seems to be the logical solution, I'd say. That way, the user can enable/disable it like other user services. I'll try to implement and test that during the holidays. [kate] [Bug 432955] enabling WYTIWYG comments
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432955 t...@my-place.org.uk changed: What|Removed |Added CC||t...@my-place.org.uk --- Comment #2 from t...@my-place.org.uk --- Just found this issue. @Boris Petrov, the "none" option does turn the auto-indenting off, but the setting doesn't "stick" so the next file you open it will be back on again, keeping auto-indent off is a constant battle. So the menu option helps mitigate this, but does not solve the problem. Even when indentation is off for a specific file type in the settings, Kate sometimes inexplicably loads the file with the indentation on. It could just be the way I type/my brain works, but I find it really confusing to have stuff I didn't type appear under my cursor. Also, the auto-completion, indentation etc seems to get it wrong more often that it gets it right, so I'm forever deleting and correcting what it does if I leave it on. The problem is that there are so many options in kate in so many places that control these things it takes for ever to switch it all off for everything (eg you can't switch auto-indent off for every file type with a single control) and new settings always seem to creep in. So a single "WYTIWYG" mode that disables everything that tries to add/correct/change what I type would be very very appreciated. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kate] [Bug 463264] New: Kwrite/Kate should provide some indication of how many files are open in its tabs
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=463264 Bug ID: 463264 Summary: Kwrite/Kate should provide some indication of how many files are open in its tabs Classification: Applications Product: kate Version: 22.12.0 Platform: Debian testing OS: Other Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: application Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: loca...@tutanota.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY It would be nice if Kate/Kwrite provided some indication of how many files are open in its tabs, so this info would be reflected on the respective entry in the Task Bar panel. The easiest way to do it, I think, is to provide this info on the Kwrite/Kate title bar as the Task Bar/Manager uses the app's title bar info to show the app's entry, right? JUSTIFICATION Kwrite now allows to open several files in tabs instead of opening several Kwrite windows. Suppose, there are 3 file open in tabs in Kwrite, say, f1.txt, f2.txt and f3.txt. When looking at the Task Bar panel the user sees something like "f1.txt -- Kwrite" for the Kwrite app, there is no indication that other files are open in Kwrite. It would be useful to me if there was some kind of indicator reminding that there are other files open in the Kwrite. For example, instead of showing "f1.txt -- Kwrite" in the Task bar, something like "3t -- f1.txt -- Kwrite" could be shown, where 3t is an indication that 3 tabs are currently open in Kwrite.
