[kwin] [Bug 464950] Implement option to disable 5.27 tiling features
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=464950 scpr...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||scpr...@gmail.com --- Comment #6 from scpr...@gmail.com --- Here's a broken UX flow: you now cannot use the mouse to create a split screen of two windows on top of each other. Previous steps to have a window cover the top half of a screen, using only the mouse: - drag the window to the upper left corner so it becomes tiled - drag the right edge of the window to the right edge of the screen Current steps to have a window cover the top half of the screen, using only the mouse: - you cant. you. cant. - the window refuses to be resized beyond some point because it has to maintain space for the non-existent tile beside it Here's another broken ux flow: you can't drag 3 windows to be side-by-side, because as soon as one of them snaps into tiling with another, they move in tandem and you can't create a gap between them for the third window. Honestly I agree with OP, this feature is a degraded UX. It was a much more satisfying interface to have each window snap to a particular location agnostic of and without modifying other window positions. Also, not being able to drag a window edge beyond some arbitrary point on my screen is an absurd and frustrating experience. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 422996] Digikam Crash with GMicQt plugin on Mac Mojave
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422996 --- Comment #43 from Geoff King --- Hi Gilles, GmicQT seems to be working really good now. I messed with it for a good while tonight and found crash issues with g'mic in testing. Now trying with a 2015 MacBook and MacOS 12.6.3. (In reply to caulier.gilles from comment #41) > > Now, as the plugin can be called more than once, i see another problem with > the image data. > > 1/ Apply a filter from GMic > 2/ Recall Gmic > 3/ Look the preview is full transparent. > > This happen only with certain kind of images. It's probably relevant of > number of color channels. I will take a look. > I do not see this issue. But see my comment further below about transparency. > Q: do you know if a host application use GmicQt in a batch processing ? > Typically, the idea is to make a digiKam Batch Queue Manager plugin... I don't know much about batch processing with GmicQT. Would be a nice addition I think. One Gmic issue I did see was that within GmicQT for some filters they have transparent areas, but the transparent parts were saved as black. For example the polaroid filter has a transparent outline. When I saved the image in Digikam this area turned black. I tried setting the Image Editor workspace format as PNG and exporting to PNG and TIFF and some other formats. After exporting, I tried opening the saved files in Affinity. Maybe I'm missing something, since I haven't really done a lot of transparency or editing in Digikam, but have done various transparency stuff in the past in other programs. [NeoChat] [Bug 462270] Neochat forgets connected accounts, starts with infinite loading screen and crashes when trying to log into an account
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=462270 --- Comment #9 from accou...@kuchenmampfer.de --- After some time, I tried to use Neochat again and now it works. I can't exactly say why because I reinstalled my distro and did all kinds of things in the meantime. But my guess is that it is because I enabled the "KDE-Passwortspeicher-System" (password storage system or something like that). I am not sure it this really was disabled before I reinstalled my distro, but I would guess so because a) it was disabled after the reinstall and b) I use another password manager, so saw no reason to enable it. So if this was only my bug, I could probably close it. But since someone else also encountered it, I will leave it open for now and suggest testing Neochat with password storage system disabled. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Got to programs:/Internet/ 2. double-click on firefox (or another browser) OBSERVED RESULT firefox.desktop is opened in the configured text editor (Kate in my case) EXPECTED RESULT When opening the "programs:/" view, I expect to be able to execute programs just like it happen when clicking on a icon in the menu. I expect this behavior not to depend on the setting "When opening an executable file", as .desktop files are not necessarily executable, but the current behavior makes the "programs:/" view unusable. [dolphin] [Bug 467661] New: Pasting an image into Dolphin, the "clipboard content" dialog should offer sane defaults
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=467661 Bug ID: 467661 Summary: Pasting an image into Dolphin, the "clipboard content" dialog should offer sane defaults Classification: Applications Product: dolphin Version: 23.03.80 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: o...@geek.co.il CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When pasting an image from the clipboard into Dolphin, it pops up a dialog with a text box for typing in a filename and a drop down selection to choose a file type. The defaults for this dialog are quite bad: the file name box is empty - without even a hint and no suggestion of a file extension; and the drop down menu is labeled "Data format" and the default value says "application/x-kde-onlyReplaceEmpty" (which I have no idea what it means and if I choose that it creates a 1 byte sized file). The drop down already shows useful names for at least some of the mime-types that are offered in the clipboard content (Saying "PNG Image (image/png)" for example, compared to "image/epsi" for some other arbitrary content-type that few people know what it means). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Use Spectactle to take a screenshot and copy it directly to the clipboard instead of saving as a file. 2. Open Dolphin and navigate to some directory. 3. Hit CTRL+V OBSERVED RESULT A pop up dialog comes up, which is a bit confusing, and if typing some name and pressing ENTER, a useless file is created. EXPECTED RESULT A pop up dialog should come up with a suggested file name (for example: "Pasted content.png") and the format pull down should default to a useful selection (for example: PNG). SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.80 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.104.0 Qt Version: 5.15.8 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I think it will also be useful if the format drop down will sort the suggestions so that the types whose meaning is recognized (i.e. showing a human readable name) are all sorted above all the alternative content-types that are not recognized. Also, when the user selects a different format, the file extension in the file name text box should change to match the selected format. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

The mapping can > change at any time by updating FontConfig, changing its configuration, > installing new font packages or even updating already-installed font > packages! At any of such changes FontConfig may choose to use a font that is > different from the one that it used to load before. Thanks for looking into this. Any chance that you could try on current debian sid / debian 12 alpha installer, with a more affected app like 'gedit' or 'evolution'? (these btw. respond to changes through gnome tweaks, but not through the KDE config, nor the CLI commands). By the way, in the case of vscode, even if you configure a non-default font, there are still parts of the interface which use the default GTK font, which up to a few months ago (in debian at least) would have corresponded with the KDE configuration. See the picture here for an example where the two configurations produce a visual mismatch in vscode: https://github.com/microsoft/vscode-jupyter/issues/13012 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Committed on 21/03/2023 at 15:43. Pushed by davidedmundson into branch 'master'. Avoid accidental creation of backing stores for offscreen surfaces Aurorae decorations and several effects are powered by QQuickWindows that render into offscreen surfaces. Iterating through all windows and then calling winId() will create a platform window including for our Aurorae decorations. Not only is this wasteful but it caused an issue with resizing windows. QWindow code updates the internal state directly if there's no underlying platform window, if there is it delegates responsiblity to the backend. Our own QPA didn't update geometry whilst hidden. The result of that is Aurorae decorations "randomly" stop resizing correctly as the contentItem stops resizing to the window size. [kio-extras] [Bug 462059] Folder access times out on folders containing a high amount of files (> 10000)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=462059 --- Comment #15 from Harald Sitter --- Git commit 87aeb0d9a61cd8a7e7041dc430395ed2cbf01c66 by Harald Sitter. Committed on 21/03/2023 at 15:03. Pushed by sitter into branch 'master'. mtp: use LIBMTP_Get_Children to implement async listing LIBMTP_Get_Children returns a list of object ids within a folder, which returns loads faster than the existing files listing API. once we have the list of ids we can asynchronously resolve the actual file entries for them and emit them as they appear. this allows us to enumerate entries as they appear rather than all at once. to facilitate this behavior a new function getFilesAndFolders2 was introduced that returns a qdbusobjectpath. under this path a new MTPLister object is registered that emits the listing.
