The trash bin view will still a table view representation as contents is
outside the database. With next 8.0.0, the file properties can be now
visualized in the right sidebar from image properties tab, contents is
populated from file metadata, not the database. There is no plan to other
advanced layout mode to visualize the contents in trash view.

The functionality of trash view is well explained in online documentation

[dolphin] [Bug 468412] New: Custom date format in details view

2023-04-11 Thread Markus

Bug ID: 468412
Summary: Custom date format in details view
Classification: Applications
   Product: dolphin

  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED

  Priority: NOR
 Component: view-engine: details mode
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: markusba...@users.sourceforge.net
CC: kfm-de...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Currently dolphin in the details view uses the date format from the regional
settings to format its dates.
I would like to define my own format here, different from the global settings.
Then it would for example be possible to add seconds to the displayed modified
date.
The setting could be a third option to the already existing date format
settings. The clock widget could serve as reference as it already has such a
setting.
But for me a simple entry in the configuration file would be enough.

Sorry for the aweful video quality, I tried compressing with h265 but couldn't
get it to the limit of 4Kb, so used a online service

Currently if a video is playing on a different virtual desktop other than the
used is currently on, video playback will show up as choppy in various desktop
effects (overview, desktop grid, present windows).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a video on a virtual desktop.
2. Switch to a different virtual desktop (Don't move you video player on this
new desktop).
3. Activate any effects (overview, desktop gird, present windows)
4. Examine that video playback is choppy

OBSERVED RESULT
Choppy video playback

EXPECTED RESULT
Smooth video playback

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I am not a technical user, but I think the problem is not limited to videos
only, I think the problem is this effects can't properly render windows where
stuff is going on, for example Audio Visualizer or when a terminal is
continuously printing out large amount of output.

Kate seems to add an extra new line to text files when **opening** them. This
gives users a false impression of how many lines are actually in the text file.
Please note, I am not talking about the "Append newline at end of file on save"
option, which I have already disabled. This is about new lines being added upon
opening.

Please add an option to disable this "feature" or at the very least make the
line counter for that last line have a lighter color, which is what I think
Visual Studio Code does to indicate that it isn't a real line in the file.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a text file with, lets say, 5 lines of text using vim.
2. Open the file in Kate.

OBSERVED RESULT
6 lines of text are shown in Kate

EXPECTED RESULT
5 lines of text should be shown in Kate, or at the very least that 6th added
line should have a different, lighter color in the line counter text.

[kmymoney] [Bug 468108] ledger freeze on large account

Forgot to mention that behavior, I believe the first ledger tab get rendered
even if we go straight to another account(ie from the home page), which I guess
is fine if really quick, but not quite necessary. With the current issue, it
create the delay even if opening a small amount that is not affected.

[kmymoney] [Bug 468108] ledger freeze on large account

2023-04-11 Thread Jack
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468108

I just reconciled an account, and had the full delay when opening the account
in the ledger, when starting the reconcile wizard, when hitting "Continue" on
the last page of the wizard, and yet again when I hit "Finish." In the second
and fourth cases, there is a delay before the pop-up window is displayed, and a
further delay before that window is actually populated with its content.
I agree with the findings in Comment #17 with some additional notes. If I hit
"Ctl-R" to remove display of reconciled transactions, the immediate effect is
just to remove the transactions, but a few seconds later, all except the last
Reconciled header also disappear. In addition, closing and then opening the
file in this state shows the delay when first displaying the ledger.
If anyone wants it, I have a small (41K) sample xml file with one account, 60
transactions, 120 splits, and 21 reconciliations. The delay is only a few
seconds, but it's clearly different from the near instant display when all
reconciliation headers are not displayed.

Bug ID: 468408
Summary: [Plasma 6] plasmashell sometimes fails to load with
"The Wayland connection experienced a fatal error:
Resource temporarily unavailable"
Classification: Plasma
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: qt6
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Startup process
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org

Created attachment 158026
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=158026=edit
Full plasmashell log output

With current git master of Plasma 6, plasmashell frequently fails to load for
me on Wayland. When this happens, its console log terminates in the following:

> Error sending request: Resource temporarily unavailable
> The Wayland connection experienced a fatal error: Resource temporarily
> unavailable

Unfortunately when running `WAYLAND_DEBUG=1 plasmashell` the issue never
happens. :/

When this happens, I simply try again. Usually after 2 or 3 tries, plasmashell
finally loads. Full plasmashell output attached.

[Elisa] [Bug 468407] New: [Feature request] Library view and playlist manager

2023-04-11 Thread Céline
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468407

Bug ID: 468407
Summary: [Feature request] Library view and playlist manager
Classification: Applications
   Product: Elisa
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: matthieu_gall...@yahoo.fr
  Reporter: celi...@runbox.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 158025
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=158025=edit
This is just a sketch of how it could look like

Elisa is a great audio player and I want to thank all KDE creators who are
involved in the Elisa project. Party mode is such a great idea.

I still use Elisa not as often as would like to. I have a large music library
with a lot of files. Sorting my library by Albums, Artists, Tracks or Genres is
not a feasible solution.

The only way to navigate my library with ease is a directory view. As of now,
Elisa comes with a Files view. With Elisa’s Files view, I see two problems:

– The Files view always starts in the root directory; consequently, I would
have to navigate to my music directory every time I restart Elisa.

– The symbols in Files view are way too large. I would prefer a file tree,
similar to Dolphin.

In my specific user case I would need an environment as shown in the
(maniuplated) screenshot attached to this feature request.

On the left side, you see the directory browser for my music library.

On the right side, you see the playlist; in the top bar of the playlist, you
see a horizontal playlist manager with different playlists.

There are only two columns needed: one for the file tree directory view and one
for the playlist (with the playlist manager on top).

I firmly believe that many users would benefit from the option of this
particular view. This is inspired by my DeaDBeeF and my foobar2000 setup.

To summarize my ideas:

– Add a directory view library with a file tree; get rid of the large
directory symbols.

– The directory view should always start in my music directory, not in the root
directory.

– Add a horizontal playlist manager.

– Reduce the number of columns from three to two whenever the requested
directory tree view is enabled.

Elisa could easily be the most beloved audio player in the Linux world. But as
of now, the use case is rather limited because the directory view (File view)
is lacking essential features.

The icon size setting has been removed (Task manager icons now always scale
with the panel thickness, or a multiple of it when using a multi-row/column
Task Manager), but the "icon spacing" setting that replaces it is now visible
for both Panel orientations.

The thing is that there isn't really a generic way to fix this problem. It's
simply another variant of the age-old issue of Task Manager icons shrinking to
an unusable size when there's not enough space on the panel because everything
else is too big and has a fixed size (Bug 447603). In Touch Mode, System Tray
icons become larger so that they become large enough to touch with a fingertip,
and this triggers Bug 447603.

In Plasma 5.27.2 the menus work as expected, but the title bar menu has icons
and the panel menu does not have icons.
I reopen here, as the bug was about consistency and talking about identical
menus, which still has this minor issue that can probably be fixed easily.
