How reproducible: always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Power on system - picture on both monitors 2. Select fedora in grub - picture on both monitors 3. View boot logs (rhgb disabled) - picture on both monitors 4. Start SDDM - picture only on auxiliary monitor Actual results: "No signal" on main monitor after SDDM start. Application has a dedicated setting usable everywhere, not only under Linux/KDE. Remember that digiKam run on Mac and Windows. Second, look well in the config panel, it's explained : "Turn on this option to activate the background spellcheck feature on captions, titles, and other text-edit widgets. Spellcheck is able to auto-detect the current language used in text and will propose alternative with miss-spelled words." In other word, the text is parsed and language auto-detected. If relevant dictionary is installed, spellcheck will be processed. Remember also that all text enter in digiKam GUI use the Alternative Language feature. It's different than a simple text editor as Kate, where the language for the string as a properties to specify the langue used for the text. This property is used first to choose the right dictionary (for ex FR-fr) or the auto-detection is processed if the default alternative language is selected (x-default) . So you don't need the default language in the settings, as all is automatized... Only the dictionaries must be installed to be sure that langauge is detected and spell checking processed. [kwin] [Bug 468742] New: Cursor vertically splitfies when moving between monitors at random times
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468742 Bug ID: 468742 Summary: Cursor vertically splitfies when moving between monitors at random times Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 5.27.4 Platform: openSUSE OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: core Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: nybbles2by...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When moving between monitors sometimes the cursor just splits into a bunch of vertical bars. I'll attach an image so you can see how it looks. The cursor in the image is just over a normal terminal window but where it would normally a simple arrow you will see it's, well, something else. STEPS TO REPRODUCE I wish I could give exact steps to reproduce but it happens very randomly when moving the cursor between monitors. The only thing I have notice that is consistent is that it doesn't seem to happen if moving the cursor across monitors slowly. It's usually a little faster than average than seems to do it. OBSERVED RESULT It only takes its weird form while on that monitor where it went weird. That is, if I move it back to another monitor the cursor goes back to normal. Then, move it back the monitor it went weird on and it will be weird again. That is, once it happened it will remain that way but only on the monitor it went weird on. However, it can be easily reset. Usually by doing something that holds the cursor in a different shape, like dragging a window, and while doing that move the cursor from a good window to the one it went weird on and once something like that has fixed it then it's fine until it randomly goes weird again. BTW, this has been happening for a couple of years at least it's just that it was such a minor thing that I never got around to reporting it. EXPECTED RESULT Not to happen. Additionally, I've tried remapping Zoom to other keys, and it doesn't seem to make a difference. The - and = keys are stuck as zoom no matter what. I've attached a copy of my keyboard shortcuts. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Remap any functionality to the - and = keys. OBSERVED RESULT pressing - zooms out pressing = zooms in EXPECTED RESULT - and = are bound to whatever function they were set as Alternatively, if these keys are hard coded to have specific functionality, disallow choosing them as a custom remap option. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux: 6.2.11 Arch Linux Qt Version: 5.19.9 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Remapping the Zoom In / Zoom Out action to other keys doesn't seem to make a difference in them always being stuck on - and =. This has been occurring for a long time in both Linux and Windows, tested across multiple computers. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 468597] digikam 8.0.0 installer attempts to create a start menu folder with 7.9.0 version numbering
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468597 --- Comment #2 from Ilgaz Öcal --- (In reply to Maik Qualmann from comment #1) > Just tested, a correct digiKam-8.0.0-git start menu entry is created. I > suspect they had an orphaned entry from an older version still in the start > menu. > > Maik I had a Windows 10 VM image just in case. It had no Digikam version installed. I did the following: 1) Install Digikam 7.10.0 2) Install Digikam 8.0.0 Result: A Digikam 7.10.0 folder (instead of 8.0.0) was created in the Start Menu. I double checked checking the Start Menu on Windows 10, it says "Digikam 7.10.0" -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[Powerdevil] [Bug 434432] battery time estimate totally wrong
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=434432 --- Comment #15 from Stefan Brüns --- Git commit e6fdb5b169f3da6f08c89ee1a425f1f00ce902b7 by Stefan Brüns. Committed on 20/04/2023 at 22:43. Pushed by bruns into branch 'master'. Fix and consolidate discharge rate and remaining time calculation This fixes several issues in the current code: 1. Instead of averaging the remaining time it averages the discharge rate, and uses the rate and remaining energy to calculate the time. 2. It gets rid of the history array, an autoregressive filter only needs one history value, no point recalculating it again and again. 3. It keeps the averaged discharge rate over plug/unplug events. This reduces the error after replugging, as the first few reported rate values are often too small, while there is no intrinsic reason the old rate estimate becomes invalid. 4. It brings the legacy remaining time calculation in line with the one based on the DisplayDevice UPower object, i.e. always uses rate and remaining energy to full/empty to calculate the time. [kwin] [Bug 468725] Menu text is sometimes blurred on Wayland with mixed-DPI screen setup
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468725 --- Comment #1 from Rui Zhao --- This was mentioned in #42 of Bug 432264. The two bugs may have some relations, but have different results. To me, initially (e.g. earlier this year) it was all menus, but now it's only submenus. Indeed it seems like "redraw" fixes the blur now. No idea why partially fixed... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432264 --- Comment #56 from Rui Zhao --- (In reply to Schlaefer from comment #42) > There's clearly an improvement in v3 here too. Menus still start somewhat > blurry at first (maybe a different issue) but seem to get redrawn once and > are fine. I'm experiencing this for a while and just opened a report today (Bug 468725). There did not seem to be any other reports of this. Initially it was all menus, but now it's only submenus. Indeed it seems like "redraw" fixes the blur now. No idea why partially fixed... The context menu bug also seems to be related to "redraw". Might have some link, though I'm not sure. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kile] [Bug 468735] New: Kile: the Scanning project files dialog blocks the application
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468735 Bug ID: 468735 Summary: Kile: the Scanning project files dialog blocks the application Classification: Applications Product: kile Version: master Platform: Gentoo Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: user interface Assignee: michel.lud...@gmail.com Reporter: eugene.shalygin+bugzilla@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY The Scanning project files dialog blocks interaction with the application completely, and at certain conditions the dialog does not go away. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set Kile options to reopen last projects on start up. 2. Remove/rename one of the project files. 3. Launch Kile. OBSERVED RESULT The application asks what to do with the removed project, but interaction with that dialog is impossible because everything is blocked by the Scanning project files dialog. Even if you are quick enough to choose and option before the scanning progress dialog appears, the progress dialog stays open forever, blocking any UI interaction with the main Kile window. EXPECTED RESULT Errors when loading projects closes the progress dialog. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
