[kwin] [Bug 465433] Fractional scale under wayland still not perfect sharp
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=465433 --- Comment #8 from zvova7...@gmail.com --- >> Just to confirm the middle one we're saying is fine? Yes, right. It is better to download the image and view it in gwenview, for example. The left one is more "hairy", visible effect of scaling. I tested Qt 6.5 on Arch Linux some time ago, and although I don't recall the exact details, I do remember that the rendering was fine. I believe I made adjustments to these environment variables during my testing: #QT_AUTO_SCREEN_SCALE_FACTOR=1 #QT_SCALE_FACTOR_ROUNDING_POLICY=PassThrough So, cross the fingers for the plasma 6 :) Also, invalid qscreen scaling can broke some apps, that rely on it. For example, some apps can get scaling settings when the window has been not yet created and pass it to some part of code that can't dynamically change the scaling factor. I hope we would't see that apps, but who knows. As example I can provide some android emulators, based on containers, like anbox or waydroid. Anbox session starts android in background, passing scale factor to the container and doesn't have technical capabilities to change the scale when user open a window. If I understand correctly, we can't get current display fractional scale factor until we doesn't have a window with attached scale factor protocol. It is not only qt-related, it's true for all wayland apps. Do we currently have the capability or are there any existing plans to get a selected display scale factor with floating-point accuracy? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[systemsettings] [Bug 470629] Unable to configure "ContentType" drm property
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=470629 --- Comment #8 from Zamundaaa --- Support for content type (both app -> compositor and compositor -> display) has been implemented in 5.27. There is no reasoning behind it except for what I already told you. > Is there a known list of apps which change the content type on their own? I know mpv supports the protocol, and Chromium developers have expressed interest early on too, but there is no list. > Not every user might want the TV to automatically switch from one mode to > another mode just because an app decides to do so. Whereas some users might > be fine with that. As such, adding a drop-down, which allows users to set the > content type, would be preferable. I don't think it's preferable, as every low level option that we add requires maintenance and adds to the confusion of users looking at the display settings. The current options in there are justified because they're necessary to make broken or imperfect displays work properly (adaptive sync wouldn't be a setting if it didn't cause flicker on some displays, and overscan and rgb range are historical problems that should've never existed), but content type is a very different thing from those. I'm open to adjust the current behavior to improve the user experience, and if using the content type from fullscreen apps actually causes problems then changing that or adding an option for it can be discussed, but I'd like to avoid adding an option if it's not really necessary. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[frameworks-kio] [Bug 448926] Cannot move root owned files to trash
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=448926 --- Comment #4 from guimarcalsi...@gmail.com --- Hey. Sorry. I completely missed Ahmad's comment here and I only found this again because I was going through my reported bugs. I don't remember why when I reported this I was able to select 'Move to trash' for a file in a root-owned folder. Now I have a new fresh install of Neon User Edition 5.27.6 and, as expected, the option is grayed out on the context menu for files inside a root folder. However, the context menu still shows 'Move to trash' for root-owned folders in my home directory, so that's not fixed. I also cannot shift-delete as I said I could in the original post. It's obvious that Dolphin shouldn't be able to delete root-owned folders without a password. What is buggy here is the fact the option to move the folder to the trash is not grayed out as it is everywhere else. This bug only seems to apply to a root folder in the home directory. System folders in / have the option to move to the trash grayed out as expected, and files and other folders inside that problematic folder also have the delete options grayed out. I'll write detailed instructions: 1. Open a terminal in your >home< (very important!) directory 2. Type sudo mkdir ./myfolder 3. Go to Dolphin or Konqueror and right-click the folder Result: The option 'Move to trash' is available. If I try to move the folder to the trash, it says: Access denied to /home/guilherme/.local/share/Trash/files/myfolder As Ahmad asked, ls -ld /home/guilherme/.local/share/Trash/files/myfolder shows : ls: cannot access '/home/guilherme/.local/share/Trash/files/myfolder': No such file or directory As expected, the folder doesn't exist because it wasn't moved to the trash due to the lack of permissions. The folder I'm trying to delete does exist though: drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 jul 5 19:55 /home/guilherme/myfolder -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[digikam] [Bug 471644] digiKam: some Mac computers are unable to export any Tag data (under TagList column for Exif).

As a test, activate the > writing of metadata with ExifTool in the digiKam settings under Metadata. > > Maik Between our Macs (some unable to export, some able) the camera models are all the same. To be clear, the photos all export and contain all their metadata except for the Tag info. [plasmashell] [Bug 471337] No OnScreen Display for Brightness or Volume - keys do change volume/brightness though
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=471337 About Duck changed: What|Removed |Added CC||aboutd...@tutanota.com --- Comment #2 from About Duck --- This problem started for me at the same time this issue was created, I'm on OpenSuse Tumbleweed with Nvidia proprietary drivers and X11. I have noticed something interesting, when you press multiple time the volume up button at some point the GUI show up. It appear that when you increase the volume and it reach 100% the GUI appear and the volume goes to what the GUI shows, the same goes in the other way when you decrease the volume and it reach 0% the next volume down will make the GUI appear and the "real" volume will be set to what is displayed. Also when the volume is muted ( GUI show it muted ) and you press multiple time the volume up button you will have no sound until you reach 100%, only then the GUI will show up and the sound will come back but it will display 5% while the "real" volume will be at 100%. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

No longer works. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Select text with the mouse pointer, 2. Ctrl+drag the selected text down or anywhere 3. Drop the text OBSERVED RESULT No drag nor drop takes place EXPECTED RESULT The dragged text is pasted / copied to the cursor location on command prompt.
