[kid3] [Bug 474318] Cannot get tags online, protocol https is unknown
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=474318 --- Comment #1 from Urs Fleisch --- Thanks for the report. However, I do not maintain the app on KDE's fdroid repo, but I will give information on how to fix it. I maintain two variants of Android apps, see https://kid3.kde.org/#download - An apk hosted on Kid3's SourceForge repo, it is built with Qt 6.5.1, I would try this: https://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/kid3/kid3-3.9.4-android.apk?download - I have Kid3 in the official FDroid, it is built with Qt 5.15 (FDroid dictates that Qt must be built from source, so I have not upgraded this to Qt 6 yet): https://f-droid.org/en/packages/net.sourceforge.kid3/ The reason for the error you are reporting seems to be that the OpenSSL shared library is missing. In both of my versions, it is available and therefore "Automatic import" is working. Note however, that this import corresponds to "File/Automatic Import" and not "File/Import from MusicBrainz Fingerprint" in the desktop version of Kid3, i.e. it does not use AcoustID but matches the albums by artist and album tag frames, which have already to be set, and the tracks are matched using length and file name heuristics. Information about the SSL library used: Qt 6.5.1 version: lib/armeabi-v7a/libplugins_tls_qopensslbackend_armeabi-v7a.so lib/armeabi-v7a/libssl_3.so lib/armeabi-v7a/libcrypto_3.so The first SO is provided by Qt, the other two are built using build.sh in Kid3's sources using openssl-3.0.9. Qt 5.14 version: lib/armeabi-v7a/libplugins_bearer_libqandroidbearer.so lib/armeabi-v7a/libssl_1_1.so lib/armeabi-v7a/libcrypto_1_1.so Again, the first one is built by Qt, the other two using build.sh and openssl-1.1.1g. Note that these suffixes ('_3' and '_1_1' are required for Android). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=474315 Bug ID: 474315 Summary: NordVPN connects but does not return prompt, Kdialog 47% CPU, xorg.bin 99% CPU Classification: Applications Product: kdialog Version: 23.08.0 Platform: openSUSE OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: br...@frogmouth.net Reporter: b.w.p...@outlook.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY OpenSuse Tumbleweed just updated to Gear 23.08. NordVPN will connect fine but does not return CLI prompt. Running top in another tab shows Kdialog consuming ~47% CPU and Xorg.bin consuming 99% CPU. If you leave it without doing anything for many hours it will slowly consume all your RAM in addition to the high CPU. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. run top in one cli tab and note Xorg.bin consuming 2% or less CPU. 2. in second tab run 'nordvpn connect toronto'. 3. In 1st tab note Xorg.bin is now 99% CPU and 2nd item is a new Kdialog process at 47% CPU OBSERVED RESULT NordVPN does connect. You get the first line connecting and a second line stating you are connected but the third line that is supposed to return the prompt just has a spinning slash as it appears to be waiting on Kdialog for something. The same process happens on disconnect (nordvpn disconnect) where you have to kill the newly spawned Kdialog for Xorg.bin to return to normal and get the prompt back. EXPECTED RESULT The prompt should return immediately, Kdialog should exit, and high CPU (and eventually memory) should not be consumed. This was working until an OpenSuse Tumbleweed update this week. It seems like Kdialog is the culprit since KDE Gear 23.08 came down as one of the upgrades, kdialog a newly spawned process from using nordvpn, and the problem is resolved upon killing it. NordVPN was last updated over a month ago on 2023-08-02, I've used it 4-5 times a week, and the problem only presented this week. This guy gets it. But it does him no good since the devs don't :( If KRunner or Kate misbehave, knowing you can go to ~/.config/kde/krunner or ~/.config/kde/kate and get rid of custom configs can go a long way in getting rid of some problems. However, I did not find anything about this in the release notes (which I read) and as a long time user of KPA I do not consult the manual ("Users never read manuals" :-). Unfortunately, the change (crtl-T) is not permanent, which is what I would prefer. [korganizer] [Bug 474312] New: Recurrent tasks' start- and due-date isn't updated in todoview and agendaview when deleting old entries
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=474312 Bug ID: 474312 Summary: Recurrent tasks' start- and due-date isn't updated in todoview and agendaview when deleting old entries Classification: Applications Product: korganizer Version: unspecified Platform: Archlinux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: recurrence Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org Reporter: kei...@free.fr Target Milestone: --- Hi, When I create a recurrent task, and then delete an occurrence (let's say, the first one, because the task is done), this occurrence becomes an "exception" in the task's "Recurrence" view. But, the start- and due-date doesn't change in the todolist, which could be seen as inconsistent. This leads at least to two problems: - in the todolist, the tasks appears with red background (as for all old undone tasks), as a reminder. That could be acceptable, but still more annoying: - in the agendaview, the "undone" task's occurrence is listed among current day's tasks, even if in fact, that occurrence was marked as exception by deleting it. Hence, I think that when handling recurrent tasks, korganizer should internally define a start- and due-date which takes in count the existence of exceptions. Regards STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Define a recurrent task 2. Delete the first occurrence OBSERVED RESULT Todolist still show the former start- and due-date and agendaview shows the task as undone. EXPECTED RESULT Todolist and Agendaview act as if the start- and due-date changed. [frameworks-kconfig] [Bug 422529] Put config files inside a kde subdirectory in ~/.config, ~/.local/share, and ~/.cache
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422529 --- Comment #42 from Artem S. Tashkinov --- (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #39) > Sorry, how does it impair backup processes? I back up my whole home folder > every day and haven't seen any problems caused by the lack of this issue. > Can you explain the impact you're seeing? Backing up KDE configuration has never been an issue. Cleaning KDE configuration up has always been an issue. In multiple KDE related topics on the internet and even this bugzilla people have been recommended to reset their KDE settings to try to fix bugs. With how configuration files are stored right now, it's near impossible to do that without nuking the entire ~/.config directory which is home to many other applications settings. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[Spectacle] [Bug 471321] Please, restore some awesome features of "Annotation tools"
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=471321 Nate Graham changed: What|Removed |Added CC||n...@kde.org Resolution|--- |NOT A BUG Status|REPORTED|RESOLVED --- Comment #1 from Nate Graham --- We ported away from the old 3rd-party annotayion library that included all those features, because it was QtWidgets-only and was therefore preventing us from porting Spectacle to QML, adding video recording, and making annotations inline inside Rectangular Region mode. As such, re-adding that library is not an option, unfortunately. Please submit one bug report pew feature you are missing and would like back, and we'll see if we can accommodate it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[konsole] [Bug 474310] New: Konsole eats a space after most unqualified emojis
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=474310 Bug ID: 474310 Summary: Konsole eats a space after most unqualified emojis Classification: Applications Product: konsole Version: 23.08.0 Platform: Archlinux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org Reporter: adam.m.fontenot+...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 161516 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=161516=edit screenshot of the problem SUMMARY The emoji handling in Konsole has recently been greatly improved (thanks for this), but I found a nit in the handling of a particular class of emojis. I think probably Konsole is not recognizing that these characters are emojis and giving them the appropriate additional padding. This problem occurs with all unqualified emojis unless (a) the emoji ends with an emoji presentation selector (FE0F), or (b) the glyph is sufficiently wide to force the font rendering engine to push the following character into the next alignment box. The "wavy dash" emoji 〰️ is wide enough to do this at 10pt in Noto Sans Emoji. Some unqualified emoji are given a text rendering, e.g. the unqualified version of the play button ▶️. In this case it is possible that the emoji will be rendered in a monospace font appropriate for a terminal and as a result the spacing will look correct, despite the fact that this could cause misalignment with other columns for which wider spacing is enforced. It's not clear to me what the correct behavior is, in this case. (Note, all emoji in this bug report are fully qualified for better handling in browsers and email clients. The bugs appear when the unqualified versions of these emoji are used.) STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. curl -s https://www.unicode.org/Public/emoji/15.0/emoji-test.txt | grep unqualified OBSERVED RESULT Most unqualified emoji are not given the extra space of padding that qualified emoji receive. EXPECTED RESULT Unqualified emoji look the same as other emoji, at least if they are rendered in the emoji font. (In other cases, correct behavior is more complicated, as discussed above.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
