presentation mode enabled

SUMMARY
***
Hello, in the last Neon unstable the "Enable Presentation Mode" from the system
tray can't be disabled once enabled.
Moreover, I had a USB stick and I was not able to press the "mount and open"
button after enabling the presentation mode. I'm not sure if this bug is
related to the presentation mode

***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the system tray arrow
2. Select Display Configuration
3. Enable the "Presentation mode" as in the attached screenshot
4. Try to disable it

OBSERVED RESULT
It can't be disabled

EXPECTED RESULT
It should be disabled as in Plasma 5.27

Bug ID: 474433
   Summary: Dolphin sometimes doesn't refresh the content of
Downloads directory
Classification: Applications
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 22.08.2
  Platform: Archlinux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: ju@zoho.com
CC: kfm-de...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
***
Some files don't appear after they have been downloaded or created outside
Dolphin
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download some files online using Firefox
2. go to the ~/Download directory

OBSERVED RESULT
Sometimes after the files are downloaded, they are not listed in
the ~/Download folder.
The only fix I found is to close Dolphin and re-open a new Dolphin window.

EXPECTED RESULT
Seeing all the files. It would be great to have a refesh button
or even a right click menu, "refresh/reload folder"

[kdenlive] [Bug 474414] [Maybe Regression : Audio clips] Audio clips that don't have an image attached to them can't be added to the timeline

2023-09-11 Thread Benoît Tarrade

--- Comment #2 from Benoît Tarrade  ---
Hi JB ! Thanks for your quick reply, I built an upstream version of MLT that
contains the change your pointed out and made kdenlive link with it in its
current revision.
It seems to do the trick, audio can now be added as it should.

One little thing remains, regarding the mp3 with thumbnail which is interpreted
as a video clip and not a pure audio clip (I don't want the thumbnail to show
in the video timeline by default).
Should I file a new bug / feature request for that ?

[krita] [Bug 474431] New: Logging to Log Viewer docker hangs with multiple windows open

2023-09-11 Thread YRH
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=474431

Bug ID: 474431
   Summary: Logging to Log Viewer docker hangs with multiple
windows open
Classification: Applications
   Product: krita
   Version: 5.2.0-beta2
  Platform: Microsoft Windows
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Dockers
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: yavn.w...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

To reproduce the hang:

== Repro steps (1)

1. Open Krita.
2. Have Log Docker’s logging enabled.
3. Open a new window.
4. In either window, do something to trigger a log message (open preferences,
use a filter, etc).
5. Krita hangs.

== Repro steps (2)

1. Launch Krita
2. Create a New Image
3. Open Settings > Dockers > Log Viewer
4. In Log Viewer, toggle the first button “Enable Logging”
5. Open a new window: Window > New Window
6. Try to click inside the new window – Krita will become unresponsive

freyalupen: This seems to be a regression of commit 17ab9bae.

I have confirmed it happening as of 5d1d1a1c2b0b052a89c8f3bc6785893130e798ae as
well.
5.1.5 does not have this bug.

[plasmashell] [Bug 474428] New: KDE Plasma crash while using Firefox

2023-09-11 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=474428

Bug ID: 474428
   Summary: KDE Plasma crash while using Firefox
Classification: Plasma
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.27.7
  Platform: openSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: j...@ensigntech.com
CC: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Application: plasmashell (5.27.7)

Qt Version: 5.15.10
Frameworks Version: 5.109.0
Operating System: Linux 6.4.12-1-default x86_64
Windowing System: X11
Distribution: openSUSE Tumbleweed
DrKonqi: 5.27.7 [CoredumpBackend]

-- Information about the crash:
I was using firefox to browse several sites, when I did a search on duckduckgo
for "pyinfra" the tab crashed. So I did it again, and the tab crashed again...
then I tried another search for "this" and the tab crashed again... after
confirming that anytime I do a duckduckgo.com search (but not when I search
with google.com) the tab would crash, I started firefox in "troubleshoot" mode.
 I confirmed that it would still crash even in the safe "troubleshoot" mode.

Now is where it gets odd- as I was testing all this, KDE Plasma crashed too! I
restarted Plasma, and it crashed again seconds later. I restarted firefox in
regular mode, and Plasma crashed again... so it seems persitant, and may not be
related to firefox issues. Or my system could just be really hosed. This is a
fresh install as of this morning of OpenSuse Tumbleweed. Issue may be hardware
related, but I havn't found the root of it yet and figured I would file a crash
report in case it is helpful.

Thank you for all of your efforts developing KDE PLasma, it is awesome, and I
certainly appreciate your work!

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.

2023-09-11 Thread Andreas Schleth
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=474406

--- Comment #5 from Andreas Schleth  ---
As far as I can see, I can confirm that the issue is fixed with
5.11.0-100-gd84d2d53  :-)

Eliminating the remaining lower case tokens took a bit of vim-ing but was OK.

2023-09-11 Thread Andreas Nordal
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453854

--- Comment #9 from Andreas Nordal  ---
Is it a good idea to use the same configuration for everything?

There may be opposite conventions to follow:
For network speed, I would even suggest that if the configuration isn't SI, the
configuration is wrong.
But opposite for memory and partition sizes.

Not that I would argue for more options. Rather that getting the default right
in each case without not making the user choose between two wrongs is more
important.

Unfortunately the settings we can expose here are limited to the ones supported
by the Libinput driver, which this settings window is simply an interface for
configuring. Libinput doesn't support those features, so we won't be able to
add configurability for them.

if and when Libinput does add those features, we'll be able to make them
configurable.

To request those features, please go to
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/libinput/libinput/-/issues.

Thanks!

Can you provide some guidance on the best way to get a valid package

a package I can get somewhere?

Thanks for the idea. You might be able to use System Monitor widgets to cobble
together something like this. Beyond that, a dedicated Plasma widget for it is
out of scope, but represents a promising 3rd-party development opportunity. :)

My understanding of the reason for this feature on smartphones is because
typing a long password is so annoying that people set short passwords,
defeating the security of passwords. But on a desktop system, typing a long
password, or even a medium length password presents no problems because the
presence of a physical keyboard makes the task easy.

In both of your examples, if security is not much of a consideration, then the
account's password itself should simply be short. And if security is a
consideration, it should be long.

Additionally, in the case of a shared computer in a non-secure environment,
typically the machine has one account with no password, or else multiple
accounts with simple passwords.

So I don't think we will be considering this, sorry!

[extra-cmake-modules] [Bug 474427] New: When building AUR git package, and staying on non-existing remote branch, getting fatal error message

2023-09-11 Thread Andrew Shark
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=474427

Bug ID: 474427
   Summary: When building AUR git package, and staying on
non-existing remote branch, getting fatal error
message
Classification: Frameworks and Libraries
   Product: extra-cmake-modules
   Version: 5.109.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: ecm-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: ash...@linuxcomp.ru
  Target Milestone: ---

When trying to build some software that uses ECM, while staying at that git
branch that is not existing in remote, the message is shown:
`fatal: no upstream configured for branch 'makepkg'`

This happens when building an AUR package, because it checkouts to the
`makepkg` branch.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Be on Arch Linux environment
2. Clone the https://aur.archlinux.org/plasma5-runners-jetbrains-runner-git.git
repo
3. Run makepkg
4. Observe output after `==> Starting build()...`. (The `build()` is a function
in PKGBUILD).

OBSERVED RESULT
There is a message in output:
```
==> Starting build()...
-- Found KF5: success (found suitable version "5.109.0", minimum required is
"5.72.0") found components: I18n Service Runner TextWidgets ConfigWidgets
PlasmaQuick KIO
fatal: no upstream configured for branch 'makepkg'
-- Found KF5: success (found version "5.109.0") found components: Config
...
```

EXPECTED RESULT
There should be no errors

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Here is the context (got with `cmake ... --trace`):
```
/usr/share/ECM/kde-modules/KDECMakeSettings.cmake(345):  set(_reponame  )
/usr/share/ECM/kde-modules/KDECMakeSettings.cmake(346):
At the time of this writing, this bug is still persistent in Debian 12 Bookworm
(on amd64).
konsolepart.so  is to be found in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/
whereas other parts such as the arkpart.so and some others reside in
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kf5/parts .
It seems that if a particular kpart is not found, the first kpart in that
directory would be loaded instead.
I solved the issue by simply creating a symlink
ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/konsolepart.so
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/kf5/parts/
This seems to be the root cause of the issue, and I suspect the fact that Elisa
crashes is a symptom. Elisa doesn't have any screen-specific code in it that I
would be inclined to blame.
thumbnail: Fix heap-use-after-free in AudioCreator::create
There is a heap-use-after-free issue in `AudioCreator::create` resulting from
storing the pointer to a temporary `QByteArray`'s data() in a pointer and
accessing it after the byte-array has been freed (when the the temporary object
was created on is over).
This fixes it by moving the `QByteArray` onto the stack, thus making it not
temporary anymore, keeping it around until its data isn't needed anymore.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=469458
--- Comment #7 from Daniel Schulte  ---
I'm pretty sure I found the issue. At least on my machine it doesn't happen
anymore with the fix and before I could reproduce it every time I opened my
~/music folder in Dolphin.
I've created a merge request for the fix at
https://invent.kde.org/network/kio-extras/-/merge_requests/281
[kphotoalbum] [Bug 474151] KPhotoAlbum crashes when Annotations are not saved and then user right-clicks Show Info in Viewer
2023-09-11 Thread Johannes Zarl-Zierl
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=474151
--- Comment #5 from Johannes Zarl-Zierl  ---
Ok, now I know how this slipped through: I tried by marking a person (that is
already there) on an image using a positionable tag. Having a change in
positionable tags does still trigger the prompt. Adding a tag does not.
[plasmashell] [Bug 474267] Multimedia control doesn't work
2023-09-11 Thread Paolo Zamponi
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=474267
--- Comment #7 from Paolo Zamponi  ---
If I right click on the Multimedia widget in the system tray I get:
plasmashell KPackageStructure of
KPluginMetaData(pluginId:"org.kde.kdeconnect", fileName:
"/usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.kdeconnect/metadata.json") does not match
requested format "Plasma/Applet"
Could this be relevant?
