Since 2015, when the bug was reported when moving from "KDE 4" to "Plasma", 8
years have passed. It is interesting to make clear that it is a bug that
appeared from "Plasma" and that, after checking that in Wayland it still
happens, I have taken the opportunity to add to the title that detail, which
makes it clear that this "X limitation" (which did not exist before) has not
been solved using Wayland either.

Mark Penner changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||mrpen...@mailbox.org

I ran into this also with Qt 6.6 compiled with kdesrc-build on Debian unstable.
To fix it I needed to add `-DQT_FEATURE_xcb=ON` to `cmake-options` and rebuild
qt6-set (I'm not sure if rebuilding only qtbase would have been enough, so I
built it all). I added it in `~/kde/src/kdesrc-build/qt6-build-include` but I
think you could use `kdesrc-build qt6-set
--cmake-options="-DQT_FEATURE_xcb=ON"` like it says on
https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/development/More#Build_Qt6_using_kdesrc-build,
near the end of the section.

I tried to find where QX11Application was defined, and I found
https://invent.kde.org/qt/qt/qtbase/-/blob/6.6/src/gui/kernel/qguiapplication_platform.h?ref_type=heads#L41
in a `#if QT_CONFIG(xcb) || defined(Q_QDOC)` block. I'm not familiar with the
Qt codebase and all the macros, but that's what made me try setting
`-DQT_FEATURE_xcb=ON`, and kguiaddons compiled fine after rebuilding Qt.

After doing the latest software update scaling is broken. It was set to 150
percent. Now the task bar, start menu, cursor, etc are too small but text and
the browser are still at 150 percent. Other settings also see to have been
reset like natural scrolling was also reset to default.

I even reinstalled from the previous USB and it worked until I did the latest
update.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Do the latest update
2.
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Scaling no longer works at all

EXPECTED RESULT
150percent scaling would work like normal

This has nothing to do with PlasmaTube itself, if all QtQuick applications
(which is the framework used to create PlasmaTube) then there might be an
underlying system issue like graphics drivers. Please open a thread on KDE
Discuss if you need further help with that, but it's nothing specific to
PlasmaTube here.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=471921

I agree with setting the window rules to hidden (closed other issues)

But at least this should be easier. You open the dialog from a window, but it
doesnt get the matching values. I dont think this is intentional, as it doesnt
make much sense.

You could still de-select some values, as this would be no problem. It would
even more be overspecific and not generally break things. So easier and faster,
saving space and I think it would make sense

I forgot to try right-click last time this issue happens. I will try next time.

I tried Alt+F2 but I can't see KRunner. But I still type plasmashell and
plasmashell --replace and hit enter, but nothing happens.

I also tried going to a Konsole (by using the working upper left corner thing)
and run plasmashell and plasmashell --replace, but still nothing happens.

Classification: Applications
   Product: kate
   Version: 23.08.0
  Platform: Archlinux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a git-managed file in Kate
2. Open the Git sidebar
3. From the Tools button, select “Open Commit…”
4. Click on “Cancel”

OBSERVED RESULT
The log view shows a new Git error with “invalid hash”

So apparently even though I pressed cancel, Git is still called. When I input a
valid commit ID and press Cancel, I still get the error message.

EXPECTED RESULT
Cancel means “do nothing”, so there should be no error message.

this is a rather old bug. Its a mix of some things:

- autohide panels often need to be clicked once to autohide, before that they
always show. This is a consistently happening bug
- When a panel is on the left side, and you have a secondary display on that
same side, for some reason the panel never disappears or something, as its not
actually at a screen edge but in the middle of the "two screen arrangement"

I dealt with the second issue by placing the vertical second panel on the right
side.

But the autohide issue still persists, I can experiment a bit and report two
new bugs

Right, the setting only affects titlebars. It doesn't affect things which are
not titlebars, such as tabs.

We could conceivably make it affect fake titlebars like the ones in
Notification pop-ups, though.

Git commit 8df6051d8df630ee45c8c1f0e97124c518bec51f by Noah Davis.
Committed on 14/09/2023 at 06:59.
Pushed by ndavis into branch 'master'.

Fix rectangle screenshots with less than 100% UI scale

Fixes it by just doing a normal all screens grab instead of trying to
get an image for each screen and then trying to position and scale them
all correctly for the given platform. This should also be a bit more
efficient.

Also lays some of the ground work for rectangle video recording by
making SelectionEditor send a rectangle and export actions instead of an
image and export actions.
