[kwin] [Bug 478032] New: Focus doesn't follow mouse over window title bars under Wayland.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=478032 Bug ID: 478032 Summary: Focus doesn't follow mouse over window title bars under Wayland. Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: unspecified Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: 0x8badf00dd...@proton.me Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 163844 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=163844=edit Correct followed by incorrect behavior. SUMMARY There is a Wayland specific issue present in Arch Linux's regular repo as well as the kde-unstable beta repo. Normally in xorg when the window activation policy is set to have the focus follow the mouse, it would follow even over a window's title bar including its borders, where the mouse changes to its resizing icon. When switching to Wayland the focus doesn't follow over the border or the title bar. This bugs middle click actions set to active windows as middle clicking doesn't acquire focus. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Change to Wayland session. 2. In Window Behavior, Set window activation policy to any "focus follows mouse" option 3. Open two windows on your desktop, give focus to one, then carefully hover your mouse over the titlebar of the other without touching any other part of the window. (As show in the attached video.) OBSERVED RESULT The second window wont gain focus until you touch something other than the titlebar and its border. EXPECTED RESULT The second window should become focused when the mouse touches the borderline of the titlebar. [plasmashell] [Bug 423745] Add the ability to delete inhibitions from the applet
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423745 baltic changed: What|Removed |Added CC||matamb...@mail.ru --- Comment #18 from baltic --- (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #3) > So you want power management suppression suppression? lol Not as "lol" as it may at first sound. There are always apps which abuse the inhibition. Here is a fresh example from the [Gnome code monkes](https://idiod.video/11d2fd.png): It doesn't allow to turn off screen, coz it's downloading something in background. So they srsly expect monitor not going to sleep for many hours of download. So the ability to easily reset all the inhibition tokens from the UI would be really awesome and not that hard to do. P.S. in that particular case even killing the boxes app doesn't help, since it's a flatpak one, and i assume flatpak somehow proxies (an hence keeps alive) the DBUS connection for it. So the monitor never sleeps anymore. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 475632] When booting up with laptop lid closed, external monitor turns off after logging in and then session locks
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475632 Doug changed: What|Removed |Added CC||dougjsha...@gmail.com --- Comment #12 from Doug --- I am having a similar issue without the laptop lid being closed and without auto-login. My monitor is connected via DP, when I start up Neon both monitors come on, as they should, for SDDM. Enter my login info fine and hit enter, then both screens go blank. The laptop screen should, as it is set to switch to the external monitor which should still be on. I can get the external monitor to come back on by turning it off (which starts up my laptop monitor), and then back on again (which turns off laptop monitor and sends desktop to the external monitor as originally intended. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 478019] New: Plasma froze after exiting full screen mode in GNOME Boxes QEMU/KVM VMs started in full screen mode
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=478019 Bug ID: 478019 Summary: Plasma froze after exiting full screen mode in GNOME Boxes QEMU/KVM VMs started in full screen mode Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 5.27.80 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Keywords: qt6 Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: matt.fagn...@bell.net Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 163834 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=163834=edit Journal from a GNOME Boxes VM in which Plasma 5.27.80 froze after exiting full screen mode SUMMARY I booted the Fedora Rawhide/40 KDE Plasma live image Fedora-KDE-Live-x86_64-Rawhide-20231202.n.0.iso in GNOME Boxes QEMU/KVM VMs in a Fedora 39 KDE Plasma host. To work around the VM getting stuck on the Plasma 5.27.80 splash screen as I reported at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477643 I changed to VT2 using the keyboard menu in the top bar of GNOME Boxes and selecting Ctrl+Alt+F2. When I changed back to VT1, Plasma was shown with the Plasma Welcome program open. I exited full screen mode by selecting the full screen button in the GNOME Boxes top bar. Plasma froze after exiting full screen mode. I clicked to open Dolphin and Firefox from the panel and open the Application Launcher menu, but nothing opened. I clicked to enter full screen mode again and Plasma started responding again. The programs and menu I clicked on when not in full screen mode opened. The journal showed spice-vdagentd errors in which it appeared to be trying to connect to mutter by dbus which was odd. There were kwin_wayland errors repeated hundreds of times while Plasma was frozen like kwin_wayland_drm: Page flip failed: No space left on device and kwin_wayland_drm: Presentation failed! [Falkon] [Bug 433181] Add Gemini support
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=433181 Kevin Kofler changed: What|Removed |Added CC||jurajora...@mailo.com --- Comment #1 from Kevin Kofler --- One would just need to write a KIO worker (formerly known as kioslave) for Gemini like the existing kio_gopher for Gopher. (Yes, Gopher already works in Falkon if one has kio_gopher installed! I am surprised that Juraj appears not to be aware of that, at least judging from his mailing list reply. The only known issue is that the URLs do not end up in the browser history, see bug #406375, which sadly has not even been acknowledged by a maintainer for more than 4 years now. Support for Gemini could be implemented the same way, though I am not aware of any implementation at this time.) [plasmashell] [Bug 478014] New: Switch on Desktop Edge should only show screen edge glows when there's a desktop that can be switched to in that direction.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=478014 Bug ID: 478014 Summary: Switch on Desktop Edge should only show screen edge glows when there's a desktop that can be switched to in that direction. Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: master Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: l7i20j...@mozmail.com CC: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY Switch on Desktop Edge allows the user to switch virtual desktops just by moving the cursor to an edge of the screen. I find it very useful for dragging windows to other virtual desktops. The UI uses the screen edge glows to indicate this is going to occur, which is very useful. However, it is very misleading and unintuitive when the glow shows even when there is no desktop to go to in that direction. An edge glow should only appear when there is a desktop that can be switched to. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enable Switch on Desktop Edge (either on Always or Only While Dragging windows). 2. Move the cursor (or drag a window) to an edge of the screen where there is no virtual desktop to switch to. OBSERVED RESULT The glow appears regardless of whether or not a virtual desktop can be switched to in that direction. This is misleading and makes the experience feel very unpolished. EXPECTED RESULT The glow should only appear when there is a virtual desktop that can be switched to in that direction. This is much more intuitive.
