If we did this, everyone would complain, because fixed-size windows are
terribly for usability. If you *do* have large content, it's nicer to enlarge
the window than it is to scroll--especially horizontally. So I don't think
we'll be changing this, sorry!

This was massively improved in Plasma 6 with a near-total rewrite of how
fingerprint handling is done. Now you can unlock with your password after the
opportunity to unlock with a fingerprint times out due to the underlying
fprintd timing out internally.

Also note that setting up a fingerprint reader shouldn't be manual ordeal; if
it is, this is an indication that the distro doesn't ship with the needed
fprint packages pre-installed, which is something you might want to tell them
about.

Well that makes sense: Discover is an AppStream handler. If you remove it,
there's like no app left on the system to handle appstream:// links, so apps
that try to open them fail, and this error is shown.

Bug 477138 is about correcting an issue where something was using appstream but
it didn't need to be because there was another way to do what it wanted to so.
But *some* things will always need to use it, and will break when there's no
appstream:// URI handler installed.

Yep, just ran `sudo pkcon refresh` and `sudo pkcon update` and pkcon says
everything is up-to-date. Going through Discover (using the workarounds
mentioned in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481993) has Discover
reporting everything is up-to-date as well. Reboots still have the KDE Welcome

This will end up being the cause. Changes are saved when Plasma shuts down
cleanly, and when you shut down the computer like this, it force-quits
everything and Plasma doesn't get a chance to save the changes.

We can improve this; see Bug 481113.

Can reproduce. I *think* this is a Breeze QStyle bug, but it might also be
something in KWin.

The presence or absence of accent colors also doesn't seem to be relevant. I
can reproduce the issue with the standard color scheme and no manually set
accent color, just the stock color-scheme-provided highlight color.

Just as a warning that I've basically re-added the default plasma panel by
manually adding the panel and widgets. So this may look normal (?)

But also as another note that since my device doesnt have Nvidia graphics, I
don't think it was the driver update in the other ticket that fixed their
particular case.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

It is not a serious bug...but it did not happen before, since the update to
Plasma 6 the taskbar takes a long time to appear when the desktop is turned
on/loaded, in fact it completely blocks its usability, right clicking or
dragging does not work until the taskbar appears, I don't know if it only
happens to me or no one has reported that detail and in Plasma 5... it never
happened to me so I rule out that it is my PC and the other suggestion would be
if there is the possibility of returning to use a single click to open folders,
files, etc. I don't understand why now you only open files with a double click.
Personally, I got used to just one click and I bet that many users also need
that option.

I can reproduce this. I'm on Arch and I installed Plasma 6 from extra-testing
repo. I have R5 5600H's APU as a gpu unit. Screen record is available as an
attachment.

Ah, it looks like we only fixed it for when the Calculator is clicked on, not
when it's activated with a keyboard shortcut. Strange that those have different

Happens for me on multiple machines (AMD 7900 XTX, AMD integrated GPU, Intel

Could be NixOS related perhaps? Would be a very weird bug to be introduced by
packaging however.
