https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482731 --- Comment #2 from chungalitos --- Sorry, you are right: it is "Dodge windows". And it happened on Wayland, not tested on x11. I was going to do this, but now I can't replicate it (Wayland). First time, when I tried to adjust panel width, something strange happened: if I adjusted the width on one side, it did not adjust automatically on the other (even though I had the planel centered). I had to log out and log in to fix it (Dodge Windows behaviour). Now this does not happen, and the adjustment is symmetrical. After that, Dodge Windows setting still works. I'm sorry about all this. If there is anything I can do to help, let me know. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 482827] New: Floating top panel invisibly obscures top of maximized window
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482827 Bug ID: 482827 Summary: Floating top panel invisibly obscures top of maximized window Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 6.0.1 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Panel Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: athantor+kdeb...@athi.pl CC: niccolo.venera...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 166684 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=166684=edit Screen-cast of the behavior. Top floating panel, when one maximizes a window of an application, „un-floats”, but the part of the screen, where bottom of this floating panel was occupying and now taken by the maximized window, still receives mouse events (hover, click), in effect invisibly blocking interaction with top part of a maximized window, which, for example, makes difficult to click on its close button. Attached an screen-cast of the behavior. Please notice when elements light up: the desktop switcher brights up, when mouse cursor is still over Firefox tab and Firefox's tab lights up only when cursor is over its middle, over bottom part. After disabling panel floating, everything works as expected. Bottom floating panel seems to be „unfloating” properly. Tested only on X11, as Wayland doesn't work on NVIDIA ootb. SCALING: 125% HDMI-0 connected primary 3840x2160+1920+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 700mm x 390mm DP-2 connected 1920x1080+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 344mm x 193mm Panel located at HDMI-0 screen. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add a top panel and make it floating 2. Open an app and maximize it 3. Try to click on its elements located at the top of the window. OBSERVED RESULT Panel „steals” mouse events. EXPECTED RESULT Maximized application receives mouse events. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=478549 --- Comment #5 from Lorenzo Bettini --- (In reply to wgalen from comment #4) > I am also encountering this after upgrading to 6.0.1 with Arch. For now, I > changed the fixed width font in system settings to a nerd-font patched > FiraCode, and that seems to work fine. I suspect that luisbocanegra found > the cause, and it appears to be intended behavior. > > Can we perhaps get a new setting to control this behavior, or choose a > default fallback font? I'd prefer to not have to use patched fonts to get > the nerd font symbols if there's a way to make that work without breaking > the use case described in QTBUG-110502. Indeed, if I install `ttf-hack-nerd` and then set the "Fixed width" font in System Settings to "Hack Nerd Font 10pt" (the default is "Hack 10pt"), then Konsole shows the nerd font IF you DON'T set any specific font in the profile (it will take the default).
