[yakuake] [Bug 454612] If 'Keep window open when it loses focus' is checked, Yakuake does not open/retract when I press F12
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=454612 Strahinja Kustudic changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REOPENED|CONFIRMED CC||kustod...@gmail.com Version|22.12.1 |24.02.0 --- Comment #7 from Strahinja Kustudic --- STEPS TO REPRODUCE The problem only happens on Wayland to reproduce it: 1. Open Yakuake 2. In Yakuake settings enable "Keep window on when it loses focus" and "Use Open/Retract action to focus windows" 3. Open Yakuake by pressing F12 if it's not already open 4. Click on some other window so that Yakuake loses focus 5. Press F12 again EXPECTED RESULT Yakuake window should appear above other windows and have focus. ACTUAL RESULT Nothing happens. F12 only works if Yakuake is focused and it retracts the window, or if the Yakuake window is closed to open it. I think this is a duplicate of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402634 which was open a few years ago. Now that Wayland is the default compositor of Plasma 6, it would be really good to fix this issue because it's breaking one of the best ways for using Yakuake having it always available on F12. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483485 Bug ID: 483485 Summary: Bluetooth pairing via GUI fails/Freezes on some devices Classification: Plasma Product: Bluedevil Version: unspecified Platform: Neon OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: now...@gmail.com Reporter: julino.developm...@online.de CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Tried to pair any bluetooth device via the tray or via system settings on my Hp Omen 16 (2023) Laptop with Intel AX211 Wireless card does not work. When clicking on next in the add new device window, the progress bar freezes and afterwards the pairing fails. This is sometimes by a message bluedevil-wizard[4537]: kf.bluezqt: PendingCall Error: "Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken." or "Authentification cancelled" Manual Pairing via. bluetoothctl does not work when discovery is enabled. Disabling this makes pairing possible. In the GUI pairing window, discovery is enabled all the timing. (I do not know if this is a bluedevil issue or should be fixed in a lower layer. But at least it gave me a frustrating experience) Recommendations: - Add a possibility to stop discovery (e.g. there is already the scanning indicator. Maybe introduce a button to stop discovery) - Disable discovery prior to trying to pair with a device STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Probably only with my bt card 2. Open "Add New Device..." via tray or settings gui. 3. Try pairing with arbitrary device OBSERVED RESULT Window freezes and pairing just fails. EXPECTED RESULT Pairing working when clicking the button. No Freeze. A more meaningful error when something fails... https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483163 Nicole Schoebel changed: What|Removed |Added CC||schoebel220...@nschoebel.de --- Comment #7 from Nicole Schoebel --- I still see this on 6.0.2. Just installed it on Arch Linux, rebooted and then tested it. I have a weird observation to add though. While most times the lock-screen is not visible (but the mouse cursor is), sometimes I did actually see the lock-screen. I keep my computer on overnight, but the session is locked and the monitor is turned off. On most occasions in the morning the lock-screen was visible. I also had that happen once during the day. It only seems to happen when a couple of hours have passed. And what may be a factor here (though I'm not sure) is that a lot of disk activity happened while the session was locked or just before it was locked. My computer does automatic backup overnight. And the one time when it worked during the day, I had copied a couple of gigabytes to a USB disk just before locking the session. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

The distinction between launcher widgets and pinned apps is subtle and confused the heck out of a lot of people. We reasoned that while your panel has a Task Manager on it that's capable of having pinned apps on it, that's the most natural thing for people to want to use. How can I check if this is caused by Plasma? Basically, when I close the lid (configured only to turn off the screen) and the open it, and the screen goes back, the keyboard lights stay turned off. I have to manually turn them on (FN+NUM+). Is there a way to check if this is caused by Plasma or something else? [kde] [Bug 483483] New: Cannot disable resolution scaling for single app
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483483 Bug ID: 483483 Summary: Cannot disable resolution scaling for single app Classification: I don't know Product: kde Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org Reporter: david.cortes.riv...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When one configures scaling in the resolution settings, it applies to all apps. Some apps do not look good with scaling applied, or have their own better ways of handling scaling, but it's not possible to disable scaling for them while enabling it for other apps. Would be ideal if there could be an option to disable resolution scaling for a specific app, perhaps as one of those "window rules" or "application rules" that one can set for e.g. titlebars and composing. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Go to system settings -> Display and monitor -> Global Scale -> set to something other than 100%. 2. Try to disable for a specific app, without assuming that said app uses QT or GTK (thus might not respond to env. variables like `QT_SCALE_FACTOR`). 3. Optionally, right click the app's title bar, select More Actions -> Configure Special Application Settings -> Add property, and try to search for something related to scaling. OBSERVED RESULT Not possible. EXPECTED RESULT Should be possible to disable resolution scaling for a given app, while still enabling it for the rest. [plasmashell] [Bug 483481] New: Plasma can be DDOSed by applications sending too many notifications in short intervals
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483481 Bug ID: 483481 Summary: Plasma can be DDOSed by applications sending too many notifications in short intervals Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: master Platform: Other OS: Other Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Notifications Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: uhh...@gmail.com CC: k...@privat.broulik.de Target Milestone: 1.0 Title is somewhat self-explanatory. If an application sends too many notifications in a short interval, Plasma becomes unresponsive as it processes the notification deluge. While undoubtetly an application programming error, Plasma should be robust against this. A simple while loop in bash can replicate this: ``` while true; do echo "^G" # this is BEL and it needs to be inputted as ctrl+v ctrl+g done ``` and switch to another tab in Konsole. (notify-send will trigger the "too many same notifications" error.) If you're curious, the application on my system that results in this is sbt. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kdeplasma-addons] [Bug 483480] New: Desktop effects (Including Cube) become unstable after using super high quality images as the Skybox in the Cube effect on older/weakerhardware
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483480 Bug ID: 483480 Summary: Desktop effects (Including Cube) become unstable after using super high quality images as the Skybox in the Cube effect on older/weakerhardware Classification: Plasma Product: kdeplasma-addons Version: 6.0.1 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: Cube Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: radical...@proton.me CC: vlad.zahorod...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Using a high quality / large sized image (for reference, I was using this image: https://unsplash.com/photos/galaxy-digital-wallpaper-rCbdp8VCYhQ) as a skybox on the Cube effect seems to make the effect unstable, make the screen go black, distort and cause some other freaky visual glitches, including not render on both monitors if a second display is connected. Even if you recover back to desktop from a broken Cube effect being used, this seems to also break some other desktop effects (most notably Overview) resulting in the screen going black and distorting until clicked back onto the desktop. This can result in a full system lockup, and in some cases, Cube can render correctly but will delay a decent amount of seconds before appearing, in this delay, the screen goes black till Cube correctly appears. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enable and configure Cube to use a large sized image as a Skybox on weaker hardware 2. press Meta+C OBSERVED RESULT Various visual glitches are caused by Cube leading either to a system lockup or if recovered from, causing most desktop effects to make the screen black out until the session is restarted. EXPECTED RESULT Cube either renders correctly with no / little delay or warns the user that the effect may be unstable with the image provided for the skybox. (maybe entirely prevents the image and falls back to a plain colour?) [kwin] [Bug 483000] File dialog totally different in Wayland vs X11
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=483000 --- Comment #8 from Matija --- UPDATE concerning file dialogues found the exact same problem with plasma 5.x https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/758602/set-default-system-filedialog-on-open-and-save-in-kde-plasma-5 when i run those apps from the terminal with "GTK_USE_PORTAL=1 " it opens the dialog as it should (exact same one as when you run "kdialog --getopenfilename ." from within terminal. Although I've added the environment variable to .zshrc file, it isn't applied globally... Is that some problem with KDE plasma or other things? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
