[kdenlive] [Bug 478663] kdenlive always crashes at startup with one profile
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=478663 David changed: What|Removed |Added CC||gn...@hawaii.rr.com --- Comment #7 from David --- Just tried the 24.02.1-x86_amd64 appimage here. On Debian Bookworm under the XFCE desktop. Other KDE apps work fine under XFCE, for comparison. Kdenlive just hangs. It displays the title/logo screen, the rest of the Kdenlive window is drawn behind it, then it hangs. The title/logo screen never goes away and the window behind it never responds to anything. If I close the window, it will eventually terminate. Trying again gives me the message that Kdenlive crashed the last time it was run and offers me an option to reset the config files. I do that, but it still hangs. I get this when started from the commandline: Loaded icon theme: "breeze" Loaded icon theme: "breeze-dark" kf.notifications: Failed to play sound with canberra: No such driver = = = = GOT Deleted file: "/home/david/.config/kdenlive-appimagerc" QPaintDevice: Cannot destroy paint device that is being painted And the same hang. I don't think this issue is fixed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[NeoChat] [Bug 475140] make fontsize customisable in neochat
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475140 --- Comment #11 from Bauglir --- (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #10) > It doesn't make any more sense now than it did then, sorry. Text that's too > small to comfortably read when there's a lot of it doesn't become more > readable when there isn't as much of it. The pain or irritation of reading > uncomfortably small text may be diminished when there's less of it, but the > fact remains that it's still to small to comfortably read, and the solution > is the same: make *all* the text on the system large enough to comfortably > read by using the global scaling or font size settings. You have already pointed that: the pain and eyesight wear of reading less amount of small text is smaller than the pain and eyesight wear of reading a great amount of small text. There's little discussion on that regard, and that argument alone is solid enough to defend my posture. About 95% (being conservative) of the apps designed for reading moderate to big amount of text, even on mobile devices, allows you to change the font size or in-app scaling, so users are going to open Neochat preferences looking for that option, I can assure you that. Trying to force them to rescale the whole system for just an app is quite weird and, moreover, is a decision that should lie with the users. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[krita] [Bug 485495] MAcOS 10.13.5 - Krita 5.2.2 - 100% CRASH - Crashes during "Loading Main Window..." WORKAROUND Commented!
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485495 --- Comment #5 from brian.ze...@gmail.com --- (In reply to vanyossi from comment #4) > could you attach or link to one of the corrupted files so we can take a look? Sorry, I deleted all the files from my Art folder. Even after deleting my files 5.2.2 still won't successfully launch past the Loading Main Window sequence Even after ourgug the software from my system and rebooting... I was thinking maybe there is some built-in time stamp code for trial-period use; I can't explain why it still will no longer run. I didn't add anything new hardware. I did play with the vertical mode (90 degrree) and noticed Krita's cursor didn't support it very good. Howvever reverting back to horizontal mode doesn't fix the crashing while loading Main Window. One thing important to note is Before I deleted those krita and tiff files, After removing Krita 5.2.2 and installing 4.4.3. When I launch the app the startup splash screen shows the 5.2.2 but I installed 4.4.3 So somehow those files were triggering the old splash screen and still crashing during the Main Window loading sequence. After I deleted those krita and tiff files; the correct splash screen showed and 4.4.3 loaded correctly; however I missed some of the features in 5.2.2! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485513 Bug ID: 485513 Summary: At least one case where dodge window does not work Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 6.0.3 Platform: Neon OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Panel Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: a...@al-williams.com CC: niccolo.venera...@gmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY Setting a panel to dodge (or, I think) hide sometimes doesn't work. At some point, the panel will just sit over windows and it won't go back down. The only fix I've found is to enter Edit mode (don't have to do anything) and then exit Edit mode. There may be more than one trigger for this, but the steps below will definitely do it. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Have one or more panels set to auto dodge. Have a window open that hides the panel. 2. Kill plasma shell 3. Restart plasma shell OBSERVED RESULT Observe panels are now over existing windows EXPECTED RESULT Panel should dodge existing window. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: 6.0.2 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION NVidia proprietary drivers but I don't think that has anything to do with it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[NeoChat] [Bug 475140] make fontsize customisable in neochat
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475140 --- Comment #10 from Nate Graham --- It doesn't make any more sense now than it did then, sorry. Text that's too small to comfortably read when there's a lot of it doesn't become more readable when there isn't as much of it. The pain or irritation of reading uncomfortably small text may be diminished when there's less of it, but the fact remains that it's still to small to comfortably read, and the solution is the same: make *all* the text on the system large enough to comfortably read by using the global scaling or font size settings. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 485398] Gamescope scaled incorrectly if Fractional Scaling is less than 100%
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485398 --- Comment #1 from ryu.ketsu...@outlook.com --- Here is a video showing the bug: https://youtu.be/nd4Ruvn6niY First, I launch the game without Gamescope at all and it is properly scaled. Next, I enable Gamescope on Bottles and the game that, should have been running fullscreen, was only at a corner of the screen. The corner it snaps to depends on the closest one when maximized or going to fullscreen. In addition to that, the microcompositor scales further down as you unfocus, then focus it back. Having observed this on Chromium-based applications, it was thought to be an issue on Chromium side of things but now as the same effect can be observed even with Gamescope, I think it could be a way KWin scales it. I use 70% scaling because the max resolution of this laptop is 1366x768, which is too small for the size of the windows. They appear too big and too cumbersome to use. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 475077] Show non-linear virtual desktop arrangements again
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475077 --- Comment #35 from tracyanne --- As n attempt to clarify here. On Plasma 5 main desktop, the Overview displayed the Virtual Desktops in the Bar, regardless of what arrangement the Desktops are in. For example on my Plasma 5 Desktop I have my desktops arranged in a 3 by 3 Grid for the GridView. When I switch to the OverView all 9 Virtual Desktops are displayed in the Bar. This is not at all confusing. This does not happen on my Plasma 6 test Desktop. So something changed. With regard to dragging windows between Virtual Desktops. Current on my Plasma5 Desktop, When in Overview Mode, I can drag a Window from the Currently selected Virtual Desktop to any other Virtual Desktop. This is not a problem, and I see no need to switch to Gridview to do this. I also see no need to change this behaviour for Plasma 6. I hope I haven't further muddied the water. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

It gets extremely confused when you do this, and starts scrambling your arrangements. I ended up writing a perl script to reorder the apps by modifying ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc while plasmashell is not running. It was the only way to get around this bug, which has been there since KDE 5. So if this is the same bug, I can confirm it happens and it is extremely irritating. Unless you edit plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc manually after moving anything, it makes Activities completely unusable with different panel views. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[krita] [Bug 485506] New: Recorder snapshots interrupt lasso tools
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=485506 Bug ID: 485506 Summary: Recorder snapshots interrupt lasso tools Classification: Applications Product: krita Version: git master (please specify the git hash!) Platform: Kubuntu OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Dockers/Recorder Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: i...@ralek.art Target Milestone: --- If a document is being recorded and a snapshot is taken, any 'actively selecting' tool will suddenly interrupt. For ease of reproduction, set the recording interval to 5 seconds or so. Then, after making a change such as a brush stroke, try to make a selection using the box/circle/free/polygon selection tool. What happens: The selection stops, as if you lifted your pen. Expected: The selection continues and it either delays the saving until after the selection, or saves in the background without interrupting the selection. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
