[plasma-nm] [Bug 352326] Plasma nm applet keeps spinning even after wifi network is connected

2016-10-21 Thread
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352326

--- Comment #64 from Guo Yunhe (郭云鹤) <guoyunhebr...@gmail.com> ---
The problem come back to me. It happened mostly in such a situation:

I boot or resume my computer and it automatically connect to school WiFi
(support IPv6, no password).

Restarting plasmashell solves the problem. After that, disconnect and reconnect
WiFi won't cause problem anymore. Even resume doesn't affect. But restart
system bring the problem back.

But haven't found any way to address the issue.

  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

When I update to KDE 5.8.0, the network manager cannot connect to all WiFi
properly.

The status is connected. I can use internet. But the "blue circle" is still
rotating, never end. I cannot see the trafic information.

The CPU usage of Plasma Shell is always high, 4%. When I disable WiFi, it drops
to 0% ~ 1%.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Connect to a WiFi.
2. Look at the network manager applet.
3. Check the network status.

Actual Results:
WiFi is connected. But the tray icon is always rolling. Cannot see traffic
information. CPU usage is high.

I have new evidence to support it. From latest git, folder
src/desktoptheme/breeze/icons

1. In start.svgz file, objects are:
* 22-22-start-here-kde (22px)
* start-here-kde (32px)

2. In amarok.svgz file, objects are:

* amarok (22px)
* 32-32-amarok (32px)

I believe here must be some problems in naming and loading icon sizes.
Otherwise, it won't be using inconsistent id.

Sometimes, if WiFi was disconnected and reconnected, the weather widget doesn't
refresh. Here is always an empty panel.

Expected fuction:

1. Provide a button to manually refresh weather information. Just like in
network manager, you can refresh WiFi hotspots.
2. When cannot connect, show some error information or hints on the panel. It
is strange when here is empty. The user might think they need to config the
widget again.
3. Remember the old configuration. When connection failed, the config dialog
will lose the city selection. Then users have to always set their city
manually.

Reproducible: Always

I did a test to prove that even the actual icon size is 22px, system tray will
use 32px icon of desktop themes. 22px icons are never used.

Here is the SVGZ file amarok.svgz I used:

http://imgur.com/NQEXWDn

It contains:
- #amarok (a red square)
- #32-32-amarok (a yellow square)

The result in system tray is a yellow 22px square icon, which is unexpected.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Copy amarok.svgz in attachment to
~/.local/share/plasma/desktoptheme/default/icons/
2. Restart system or plasmashell to referesh Plasma cache.
3. Start Amarok.
4. Check amarok in system tray.

Actual Results:
The icon is a yellow square (32px).

Expected Results:

It is using breeze color scheme, openSUSE plasma theme.

After I switch to breeze theme for all, it is almost the same result.

The left avatar is in the KDE user management. The right avatar is in a dialog
I created in Qt Designer. They use the same picture and same size.

I can see that the left one is not as smooth as the right one. When you scale
the screenshot 2 times bigger, the difference is more visiable.

2016-09-25 Thread
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369327

Bug ID: 369327
Summary: User photo/avatar doesn't support antialias
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.5.5
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff)
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: guoyunhebr...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

The user photo/avatar in application launcher, SDDM login screen and lock
screen has obvious no antialiasing. This make photos and drawings render in a
bad result.

See screenshot attachment.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set a user profile photo.
2. Open application launcher. Look at the user photo in launcher.
3. Lock the screen. Look at the user photo in lock screen.
4. Logout. Look at the user photo in login screen.

By default, KDE uses a light color scheme, light background and dark symbols.
However, the full screen App Dashboard always use dark background. Thus, dark
symbol icons are hard to identify in such a dark background. See screenshot in
attachment.

Hope that App Dashboard uses system color scheme for background and text color.
So that when color scheme is changing, symbols/icons are always clear.

Reproducible: Always

In this case I have Telegram and Dropbox tray icon, they are auto-start apps.
When I login to system, their tray icon might be black-background.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/sh2dqfrlo6ywquj/tray-icon-black-background.png?dl=0

However, if I quit Telegram and start it again, there will not be black
background anymore.

[Breeze] [Bug 366545] New: Some application use tiny icons (black stroke)

2016-08-09 Thread

Bug ID: 366545
Summary: Some application use tiny icons (black stroke)
   Product: Breeze
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux

#1 kbd-layout-viewer, a config tool of Fcitx, use icon input-keyboard. Compared
with kvkbd, use icon preferences-desktop-keyboard

https://www.dropbox.com/s/m0c78q4powpjkc9/keyboard-icon.jpg?dl=0

"input-keyboard" icon indeed has a 64px colorful SVG. But for some unknown
reason, system doesn't use it.

#2 sweeper, system cleaner, use trash-empty icon.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/m214ju2gxjg89uv/sweeper.png?dl=0

"trash-empty" icon do not have 32px, 64px SVG.

Reproducible: Always

[Breeze] [Bug 366490] VLC icon doesn't follow the original icon

--- Comment #2 from Guo Yunhe (郭云鹤) <guoyunhebr...@gmail.com> ---

Here is a official description: GPLv3 is compatible with CC BY-SA 4.0. But
LGPLv3 is not compatible with CC BY-SA 3.0

Since this icon is included in VLC source code, it is already licensed under
GPLv2. But not LGPL.

In this case, I think it is better to remove this icon from Breeze icon set and
use original icon. It is much better.

I have a 6 year VLC user. VLC is always using this icon:

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/e6/VLC_Icon.svg/2000px-VLC_Icon.svg.png

But the VLC icon in Breeze is too different from the original icon. I cannot
find any connection between. A player window can be any video player.

[kwin] [Bug 365650] New: After unplug external screens, windows do not come back to current screen

2016-07-14 Thread
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365650

Bug ID: 365650
Summary: After unplug external screens, windows do not come
back to current screen
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.5.5
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: guoyunhebr...@gmail.com

This problem related to laptop resume & multiple-screen.

When laptop is in resume state, and user unplug cables of external screen, KDE
will not move the window from external screen to laptop screen after resume
system. This cause users cannot use the window anymore. They cannot move the
window through "move to screen" menu, because here is only one screen now. They
can only close the window. But what if you have some important data that didn't
save in that application?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Connect laptop with a second screen with HDMI or VGA.
2. Move a window to second screen.
3. Close laptop so it is in sleep mode.
4. Disconnect the second screen by unplug HDMI or VGA cables.
5. Resume laptop.
6. Open the window that you moved into the second screen.

Actual Results:
After resume laptop, the window in the second screen will not come back to
current laptop screen automatically.

Expected Results:
All windows should be forcely returned to current screen.

It is the certificates used for SSL over HTTP. When you visit website start
with "https://;, their are using *.crt files. Web browsers, like Firefox and
Chrome, are also bundled with many root certificates, and can check if the
website provide a valid certificates issued by a trusted organization.

Your solution is good. But I still doult if here are some improvements can be
done in Breeze GTK theme itself.

The problem is KDE-GNOME and Qt-GTK are going far away from each other in look
and feel. All desktop environment want to give users same experience on all
applications. That is way they enable breeze style on GTK apps. The real
problem is that the Breeze theme for GTK is not fully tested as Oxygen.

By the way, why this is still unconfirmed though so many people have the same
problem?

Is this a packaging problem? I am using openSUSE 42.1 and KDE5 repo. The
problem still exists.

10.

Currently, Amarok shows colorful icon in both task bar and system tray. But
Ktorrent uses monochrome icon in both.

I think there should be different icon files for different usage. Use
"amarok.svg" for window and task bar and "amarok-tray.svg" for system tray.

When you config desktop wallpaper and set a time to change wallpaper among a
list of files, you can see here is a time picker.

http://i.imgur.com/DR2Unf8.png

Problems:
1. If you increase seconds from 0:0:59, the time suddenly becomes 24:45:0, not
0:1:0
2. Users can type 60 in seconds. But if now you change hour and minute to 0, it
will crash or freeze the settings window.
3. If you set 0:1:0, it always change it to 0:1:1 next time you open settings
window.
