[plasmashell] [Bug 371393] New: System load viewer plasmoid includes cached memory in total

2016-10-20 Thread Aaron Wolf via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371393

Bug ID: 371393
Summary: System load viewer plasmoid includes cached memory in
total
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.8.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: System Monitor
  Assignee: notm...@gmail.com
  Reporter: wolft...@gmail.com

The cached memory is shown distinctly with a different color, that's fine. The
problem is the hover message shows the total included cached memory and there's
no setting otherwise. So, it looks like more memory is used than really is.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add the system load widget to a panel
2. Hover over it
3. See the memory number be much higher than expected

Actual Results:
Cached memory is included in total

Expected Results:
Only actual application and system memory should be included in this number,
which is how it is in the System Monitor application.

[konversation] [Bug 370717] system tray icon notification far too subtle

2016-10-13 Thread Aaron Wolf via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370717

I just tested with Oxygen instead of Breeze (I prefer Breeze for reference),
and the issue was the same. The icon was different, but it just sorta bulges in
a pulsing way with no color, and since the system tray icon is pretty small, I
don't really see it unless I actively give attention to the system tray.

[konversation] [Bug 370717] New: system tray icon notification far too subtle

2016-10-13 Thread Aaron Wolf via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 370717

  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: notifications
  Assignee: konversation-de...@kde.org

In KDE4, the system tray icon changed color. Now, in KDE5, the icon just
slightly animates, and it's far too subtle to notice. I really wish there were
an option to make it turn a bright color.

Reproducible: Always

[plasmashell] [Bug 370306] no option to show 12-hour time without displaying the AM/PM part

2016-10-08 Thread Aaron Wolf via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370306

To be clear: I'm asking for this to remain open and be just a request for a
checkbox for whether or not to show the AM/PM part of the time. This makes the
difference between a usable or unusable digital clock for left or right side
panels.

[plasmashell] [Bug 370306] no option to show 12-hour time without displaying the AM/PM part

2016-10-08 Thread Aaron Wolf via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370306

So, what's the actual solution? I wasn't suggesting my patch as the solution
necessarily. I was wanting the problem addressed and just mentioned something
that could possibly work. I don't care about my solution being accepted, but I
want the issue resolved.

Without removing the AM/PM part of 12-hour time, I can't have a readably large
time in 12-hour numbers in a panel that is on the left or right side of the
screen!

I have this problem too, and the setting for the image shown on the desktop is
resetting when this happens too. I'm using Neon 5.8

[plasmashell] [Bug 370306] New: no option to show 12-hour time without displaying the AM/PM part

2016-10-08 Thread Aaron Wolf via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370306

Bug ID: 370306
Summary: no option to show 12-hour time without displaying the
AM/PM part
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.8.0
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Digital Clock
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: wolft...@gmail.com

because the space used by Digital Clock is relevant to the font-size and the
fit in various contexts, the ability to hide the AM/PM part of 12-hour time is
valuable. Of course, anyone viewing local time knows whether it is morning or
evening already without the AM/PM part, so it really isn't necessary.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Uncheck 24-hour time
2. Notice that the 12-hour time always shows the AM/PM part and no option is
available to hide that

Here is a modification that successfully hides the AM/PM part:

In
`/usr/share/plasma/plasmoids/org.kde.plasma.digitalclock/contents/ui/DigitalClock.qml`,
replace
`return Qt.formatTime(currentTime, main.timeFormat);`
with
`return Qt.formatTime(currentTime, 'h:mm ap').replace(' am', '').replace(' pm',
'');`

The only trouble is that the time can now be large enough to bump into the date
when that is shown. Some additional modification should be added to ensure some
small margin between the date and time.

[plasmashell] [Bug 370258] New: No option to bring forward multiple windows of the same program

2016-10-07 Thread Aaron Wolf via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370258

Bug ID: 370258
Summary: No option to bring forward multiple windows of the
same program
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.8.0
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Task Manager
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: wolft...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

I happen to be using icon-only task-manager, but this likely applies to all
KDE5 task manager options. When a program has multiple windows, there's no way
to just go back to that program and get all the windows to come to the top!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a program (e.g. Dolphin)
2. Open a second window in the same program
3. Open a second program (e.g. Firefox)
4. Fail to discover a normal single-step mechanism to switch between seeing on
top (A) both windows from the first program together and (B) the window from
the third program

Actual Results:
Click a task-manager icon that indicates multiple windows, they all show in a
zoomed out way which allows selecting only one of them to become active.
Clicking anywhere else results in none of the windows becoming active. No
option available to just bring all the windows from the same program to the
top.

Expected Results:
I expect to be able to quickly switch between two programs where I can get all
the program's windows at once.

[okular] [Bug 267350] filling out a PDF form saves data to some file i ~/.kde/share/apps/okular/docdata/

2016-06-08 Thread Aaron Wolf via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=267350

@Yuri, Carsten was saying that the current Okular behavior *does* save data
directly to the PDF *if* you use "save as" but otherwise not. The problem
remaining is that it also saves to a hidden directory as well, and then
conflicts and security issues can arise from that.
