[kate] [Bug 486641] New: Add ability to pin a file such that it is available in each open session in the left (or right) most tab position

2024-05-05 Thread Allen Winter
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486641

Bug ID: 486641
Summary: Add ability to pin a file such that it is available in
each open session in the left (or right) most tab
position
Classification: Applications
   Product: kate
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: sessions
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: win...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

This is a wish
I have a Notes text file where I jot down important notes, todos, reminders,
etc. etc that I have open all the time for easy, fast access. I also have
many sessions associated with all the different projects I work on.

Every time I open a session (or create a new session) it would be great if my
Notes file was opened automatically to the leftmost (or right-most) tab.

multiple pinned files would be added consecutively to in order left-to-right
(or right-to-left) before the files contained in the session

something like that.

Every time I create a new session the first thing I do is open the Notes file
and then save the session. but it would be nice if kate would do that for me.

Pasted from riiga's response to my query about this:

"It's not really a bug in my opinion. The holiday file for Sweden includes all
the common holidays and events you would expect to find in any printed
calendar, this includes public holidays, flag days (among them for the royal
family) and some cultural events of note. This isn't any different from the
holiday file for Denmark or Norway. It's also in the description, "Helg- och
flaggdagar i Sverige" or "Holidays and flag days in Sweden".

maybe one day our applications will have the ability to show a subset of the
holidays, like "Show Public Holidays Only"

for now this is NOT A BUG

[kate] [Bug 471470] New: Disable autocomplete in text files

2023-06-26 Thread Allen Winter
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=471470

Bug ID: 471470
Summary: Disable autocomplete in text files
Classification: Applications
   Product: kate
   Version: Git
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: win...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

maybe there's already a way to do this but I can't find the option.

can I disable autocompletion on text files but keep autocompletion on other
types of files (like C++)

for example: when I type "Local" then hit return I don't want the editor to
lower case that to "local" for me.

This is a wish.

When opening a file, the new tab is opened all the way to the right.
It would be nice to have the new tab open to the immediate right of the
currently active tab.

use case: I typically have quite a few tabs open and it's a bit of a pain to
have to scroll all the way to the right to find the newly opened tab.

Would be very helpful if you could give me a list of holidays you expect to see
in a calendar.
I can convert to the Cuba holiday file expected by the software.

Here's a starting point. It would also be useful to have the Spanish
translations:

"Liberation Day" public on January 1
"Victory Day"public on January 2

"Good Friday"public on easter minus 2

"International Workers Day" public on May 1

"Revolution Anniversary" public on July 25
"Day of the Rebellion" public on July 26
"Revolution Anniversary Celebration" public on July 27

"Independence Day" public on October 10

"Christmas Day" public on December 25

"New Year's Eve" public on December 31

I didn't commit this as any slander. I did commit this as a honest response
to a bug request. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447201

The world is a complicated place and we can't be expected to know the history,
culture and other issues that might cause hurt feelings.

In fact I did review https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_holidays_in_Poland
and all the holidays listed looked legitimate to me.
Now, what exactly should be removed. I don't see pancake in there.

Git commit 58c51df658c04361e648adcee711d3ae28289a9c by Allen Winter, on behalf
of Alois Spitzbart.
Committed on 10/04/2022 at 15:26.
Pushed by winterz into branch 'master'.

New function for plasma to generate holidays without astro seasons

This function creates just holidays from the holiday files. Astro seasons are
not included, which are calculated. In Plasma can the astro seasons displayed
two times. When this function is used, this can prevented.

I did get a better name. Maybe someone has a better idea. Would be Plasma as
suffix better than Only?

I reverted
https://invent.kde.org/pim/korganizer/commit/48485e4fbdc7b70a30972bb3ac2d529b987746aa

Because I can no longer have the search run if I press the key in the
search lineedit. Now I need to click on the Search button to start the search.

For deleting all hits, don't we really want multi-item selection and then a
context menu for delete? @Kevin, thoughts?

A [Del] shortcut on the delete menu item also would be a good idea.

since the password is encoded in the caldav url, maybe we need some special
coding magic with QUrl::setPassword?

kdepim-runtime/resources/dav/resource/setupwizard.cpp

I think I'm having a similar problem with a special character

next-cloud.org doesn't seem to be operational these days. well, it doesn't let
me in via https so I'm not trying to hard.

I can say that my testing on a NextCloud system via Caldav works of for me.

Closing this since there's no way to test.

icalformat_p.cpp - support ATTACH parameter FILENAME

FILENAME is allowed per RFC860
Calendaring Extensions to WebDAV (CalDAV): Managed Attachments

Note that KOrganizer still writes back the Incidence
attachment's label with the X-LABEL parameter.

[korganizer] [Bug 434929] New: Disassociate Occurrence with DND

2021-03-25 Thread Allen Winter
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=434929

Bug ID: 434929
   Summary: Disassociate Occurrence with DND
   Product: korganizer
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: recurrence
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: win...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Glen:

I received this bug report from a friend and I'm wondering if this is fixed in
one of your recent patches:

"Create a weekly event (every Wednesday 3pm-4pm). Move (by drag-n-drop) one of
the occurences to a Thursday and choose "only this item". If you select both
Wed+Thu, the event is shown (correctly: on the Thu). But if you select only
Thu, the event isn't shown. It's like the logic still associates this event
with Wednesday when trying to figure out whether to show the event or not..."
