did the samba kcm really work? if not please remove it, or at least move to a

Hi Uri,
thanks for reporting the bug it look like the themes file was overwritten by
the breeze ones. will fix it but it has to be backported to the stable KF
branch. will have to lock how it will work.

5. Bounding box snapping modes icons
I NEVER, NEVER understood the bounding box icons from inkscape. As I have some
years of experience in AutoCAD I had a look at there icons.

this bug isn't fixed cause I need some input for the constellation icons

show the constellation lines of Big Dipper

- kstars_cnames
say Ori is the big dipper part of orion? if no, I'd like to add the acronym for
big dipper (-> how is it called? I can write 3 letters)

- kstars_constellationart
I know wrong icon. I'd like to draw the big dipper (need some time)

the final result should be to see first the lines than the name and than the
artwork of the same element (big dipper). is big dipper also in the artwork
view of kstars? if yes, please send a screenshot.

Sorry but this isn't the breeze plasma theme. plasma and the VDG "only" support
and ship breeze and breeze-dark plasma theme. Breeze change the power icon
cause of your bug report some times ago.

Please report this bug to the designer of the linked plasma theme.

one of the last design bugs in plasma. as we make a big affort that LibreOffice
fit's well in plasma and kde this small bug should be fixed to finalize the

when use breeze-dark theme (or any other dark theme) the toolbar had a gradient
that you can's see breeze monochrome icons. If you change to oxygen you can see
the icons but the gradient look strange and distroy the overall layout and
experience of LibreOffice.

In kicker you can add apps to launcher and to panel the only difference is that
if you add an app to panel you can move the app icon cause it's a plasmoid.

is it really needed it look a bit more complex than needed.

for me the bug is also still present and feels the same as in the beta builds.

But it seems really that the initial bug report may mean something slightly
different.

For me it is just a super laggy behavior(skippingmany inbetween sizes) and not
easy to properly set the brush size via shift + drag.

than the filter should be removed.

If you want to have an filter is should not say if you don't activate this I
will show you all effects that are not supported. It's way to complicated. A
filter ordinary mean if you use the filter you get a subgroup of something.

In the desktop effect kcm you see by default all effects that are supported by
the compositor and that are not internal effects. If you want to show also the
not supported effects and the internal effects you have to "filter" to add
them.

this is a bit confuse. I would suggest to change the behavior when you click on
the edit button, you get
1. Desktop Effects
2. Internal Effects
3. Not supported Effects
4. Used Effects
5. All Effects

1. Desktop Effects show all Effects excluded 2. and 3.
4. show only the selected one
5. show ALL included 2. and 3.

and than the edit button will be changed to view-filter.

I think than this is more clear than some excluded filters.

when you activate the touchpad stuff in system tray, the tray don't use the
plasma icon. It use the icon from the icon set.

When I rename the icons from plasma it also didn't work don't know how to fix

when you have a vertical panel the > expand icon of the system tray isn't shown
in a new line there are some empy lines in between to the other icons.

please move the expander in the same line than the other icons or in the next
line. if you hofe more than two columns shown it would look better to have the
expander in the same line.

So after the review there is the color effect which is funny but not really
usefull for the default user so I would hide the color stuff behind a button.

the global toolbar icon size is a really useful function I would ass to the
main tab instead of hide behind the advanced tab.

Icon Theme KCM

In the Advanced Tab there are a lot of stuff that worked in the past but not
with plasma 5.

Use of Icon

- Desktop
  Size didn't work. The user can switch in Desktop Settings to Folder View and
see icons on the desktop, but the size from the kcm wasn't used. you can change
the icon size with right click.
  The animation Stuff is nice and added in kde 3.x but I'm not sure if it would
work and which file format.
  -> Desktop Section can be removed

- Toolbar
  didn't change the toolbar
  -> remove

- Main Toolbar
  work and is usefull, cause you can change the toolbar icon size for all kde
applications

- Small Icons
  work partly. I'm not sure if it is usefull. there is also this scaling stuff
(for hidpi) and the text height. maybe it would be more usefull to have it
there. In general it didn't work 100% 
  -> remove it

- Panel
  change anything in a panel. not in the config panel or any other panel
  -> remove it broken

- Dialogs
  didn't work
  -> remove it

- All Icons
  You can change the color stuff for all icons. Funny thing, not realy usefull
but funny.

- Collor stuff
  work now only for all icons. would maybe usefull for toolbar icons
(monochrome ones) but I'm not sure cause the color stuff was changed now via
the color scheme. this would be the better way to change color stuff.
  -> available via a color effect button.

kicker with computer, laptop and folder icon.

I changed the computer/laptop icon to a folder icon cause in this section you
see the places and two applications. but the main stuff are the places. In
general the folder icon look better.

please give me the feedback if you want computer/laptop icon or folder.

cause in the kickoff menu the computer section is mor places than anything else
so for me a folder fit's better than a really generic computer icon. what does
the computer/laptop icon mean? A folder icon would show easy what the section
mean. for laptop it should be the same icon than for the default computer. in
the icon theme when there is no computer-laptop icon is available it use the
computer icon that's the reason the icon was missed. will add it.

about the different thickness all icons are available in two sizes 22px and
32px but it look like your system (hidpi isn't it?) show in bookmarks, apps the
32px one and in history and leave the 22px scaled up.

with the advanced tab in the icon kcm you can change the default size of icons
and how the hover effect, ... should look like.

The problem is, that more than 50% of the functionality didn't work.

e.g. at toolbar you can't change the default height, at main tollbar and small
icons it will change.

In general it would be very nice to change the height of the default toolbar
icons but do the user really edit the hover effect. The color of icons were now
changed by the color kcm, ...

don't ship broken stuff. so fix it or remove it.

klipper is an awesome utility and activated by default as applet.

The applet is nice to see the history but the real power of klipper was shown
when you define a shortcut for open clipboard at mouse point, cause than you
can scroll at your history and select a new clipboard entry for ctrl + v.

as the shortcuts are now ctrl + alt + ... and glipper use ctrl + alt + c I
would suggest du use also ctrl + alt + c

the plasma theme support 95% only 22px icons, cause most icons are available in
22px size. some like the klipper icon is available in 22px and 32px. In
attachment 100522 (32px size) you see that the clipper icon is sharp and the
other icons are scalled. 

That's a design issue of breeze cause breeze icons use 1px lines so when you
scale from 22px to 32px the line width will be 1.45px and it look blur. I will
add the 32px icons for the breeze plasma theme but now you can see the issue.

in win7 you lock in than there is a very short black frame (depand on your
machine if you will see it) and than you have the desktop with the panel, but
you see that the elements from the system tray will start.

in os-x you see also some flickering when the desktop was build.

in my mind it would be more usefull to turn off ksplash animation by default.
the start would be faster and cause the desktop is immediat visible it feels
MUCH more faster and the user wouldn't say PLASMA is a heavy desktop
environment.

the system tray icons are shown as 32px icons but 90% of the plasma icons are
only available in 22px so 90% of the icons have to be scaled by default.

Please switch to 22px icons as the kde applications use by default for toolbars
or add 32px icon support for plasma breeze theme.

when you look only to plasma (cause the linux kernel start 8 sec is fast
enough) you can 

reduce starting to for 25% only when turn off ksplash

as the desktop is available immediately it FEEL even faster

for oxygen I don't have all icons cause I didn't have the time and I think for
external theme it is also not always easy to add something. maybe we can have a
look at the gnome nm if we are willing to change something.

Hi, yes global would be the best joice cause you use the icon for actions.
action icons are needed in 22px by default and 16px if the user like. I also
play around with 32px size but nobody care about 32px action icons. so change
to global

on my system I can change the following things in Display Configuration:
- Display enable/disable
- Resolution: drop down menu
- Orientation
- advanced Settings
  - Refresh rate

I understand that refresh rate is in advanced settings but can you please add
orientation also to advanced settings cause only 5% of the user need to rotate
the screen.

advanced settings is usefull when you have a lot of very technical stuff to
hide for the default user (simple by default, powerfull when needed) but in
this KCM there is only ONE setting. when you write an book you won't add an
header for one text that would also fit in the section above.

so please add orientation and refresh rate to advanced or remove the advanced
settings text and show everything by default.

would be nice if the drop down buttons have all the same width.

Hi,

for krdc there was never a breeze icon available. I install it on the master
system and an old system the old system use the icon from the krdc repository
the master system don't load the icon from the krdc repo.

The idea is always that KF5 apps use first the icons from /usr/share/icons if
not available (backup) the icon from the app repository was used. So it is a
bug from KF5. 

For breeze-icons the bug would be that the krdc app icon is missing.
