[krunner] [Bug 477652] New: Layout agnostic search

2023-11-27 Thread Andy Antares
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=477652

Bug ID: 477652
   Summary: Layout agnostic search
Classification: Plasma
   Product: krunner
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: geekx...@gmail.com
CC: alexander.loh...@gmx.de, natalie_clar...@yahoo.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When you type some English word with Russian keyboard layout, it would be great
for Krunner to search elements with English symbols on the same keys. Google
search works as expected, maybe it can be implemented in Krunner as it helps
multilayout users a lot.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Krunner
2. Type "Firefox"
3. Type "ашкуащч"

OBSERVED RESULT
When "ашкуащч" typed, nothing is shown

EXPECTED RESULT
When "ашкуащч" typed Firefox is shown

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
Fedora 38 / Wayland / Kernel 6.5.11
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.9
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.111.0
Qt Version: 5.15.11
