https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468823 Bug ID: 468823 Summary: MPV stats overlay causes choppy playback and dropped frames Classification: Applications Product: Haruna Version: 0.10.3 Platform: Archlinux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: generic Assignee: georgefb...@gmail.com Reporter: bsmith7...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 158332 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=158332=edit screenshot of "stats" overly after 30 seconds of playback, showing 142 dropped frames. SUMMARY MPV has a "stats" overlay which is activated by pressing Shift+I. [I as in "ice", not L as in "Lady"]. I added it to Custom Commands in Haruna. When the stats screen is active, playback becomes choppy with many dropped frames reported. Playback still functions properly on regular MPV while the "stats" overlay is active. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Haruna Settings > Custom Commands 2. Add the custom command: script-binding stats/display-stats-toggle 3. Map the custom command to a keyboard shortcut. 4. Press the keyboard shortcut while a video is playing. OBSERVED RESULT While "stats" overlay is active, playback is choppy with many dropped frames reported. Most apps respect the setting, but scrolling direction is reversed in the System Settings app, the Application Launcher, and the wifi networks list in the plasma-nm taskbar applet. [Scrolling in other areas may also be affected; these are the only ones I've noticed.] STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open a Plasma Wayland Session with Qt 5.14.x. 2. In System Setttings, Input Devices, Touchpad: Choose your preference for "Invert Scroll Direction (Natural Scrolling)". 3. Attempt to scroll using the touchpad in the list of System Settings modules, the application launcher, or the wifi networks in the plasma-nm taskbar applet. OBSERVED RESULT The scrolling direction is opposite of the setting. EXPECTED RESULT The scrolling direction is the same as the setting.
