I still cannot reproduce. But I have had similar issues regarding the last
message in the list. When I deleted them, the message list went empty and i had
to switch to anouther folder and back to get the list again.

That might be related somehow, but is just a guess.

Indeed it is my workaround to run

nmcli --ask c up SSID

nm-applet.

I did some tests but wasn't able to reproduce in kontact/kmail 5.9.1 on
Archlinux. Not sure when 5.9.1 will be released to you by OpenSUSE but chances
are, that the bug got fixed in the meantime.

So if nobody else is able to reproduce, I would suggest you to wait for 5.9.1
and see if the problem persists. I will have my focus on the described
behaviour in my daily usage of kontact, but I cannot remember that something
alike happend to me in the past.

I tried to reproduce this bug with version 3.0.5 with packages from Archlinux.

Clicking on the red cross quits it. Clicking on the black cross in the tab bar
closes the active tab, as I would expect. So that seems to be no issue in later
versions.

But I can confirm in version 3.0.5 that shortcut ctrl-shift-q doesn't work
(Archlinux Packages).

To reproduce:

1. Start Yakuake
2. Give it focus (press F12)
3. Press ctrl-shift-q
4. Give it focus (press F12)

Although it should have been quit, the program is still running. I would expect
that pressing F12 at step has no effect, since Yakuake has been quit.

[KScreen] [Bug 398408] New: Display settings get confused when woken up in dock after hibernation outside of dock

2018-09-08 Thread Christian Kalkhoff
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398408

Bug ID: 398408
Summary: Display settings get confused when woken up in dock
after hibernation outside of dock
   Product: KScreen
   Version: git
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kded
  Assignee: se...@kde.org
  Reporter: e...@softmetz.de
  Target Milestone: ---

Most of the time when I used my notebook undocked, send it to standby, dock it
and wake it up, my display settings are totally messed up.

In Kscreen the displays that are connected to my dock are still visible, but
all settings have gone. I cannot activate them anymore.

The workaround is to relogin or reboot to make all the settings again.

The same behaviour encounters sometimes when I switch from one user to another
without ending the former session (Switch User).

I encounter this from time to time after sleep. One workaround that works for
me is to use the command line tool nmcli to bring up the connection. Afterwards
the nm-applet works fine again.

At times waiting for about 3-5 minutes also solves the issue.

[kontact] [Bug 372517] New: Kontact crashes under wayland when started via krunner

2016-11-15 Thread Christian Kalkhoff
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=372517

Bug ID: 372517
Summary: Kontact crashes under wayland when started via krunner
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: e...@softmetz.de
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: kontact (5.3.3 (QtWebEngine))

Qt Version: 5.7.0
Frameworks Version: 5.27.0
Operating System: Linux 4.8.7-1-ARCH x86_64
Distribution: "Arch Linux"

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I start kontact under plasma wayland through krunner or the kde menu and after
it shows up for half a second it crashes.

- Unusual behavior I noticed:

If I start kontact under X11 either way it works. If I start kontakt under
wayland from a shell window it works two. So I guess it might require some
terminal under wayland. I can also bg kontact after the start and it keeps
running.

The crash can be reproduced every time.
