I managed to get a backtrace for kwin, see the attachment. My monitor is connected via Thunderbolt and I have an Intel Core i7-13800H CPU with a Raptor Lake-P (Iris Xe Graphics) GPU and an NVIDIA RTX A1000 6GB Laptop GPU with proprietary drivers installed. $ sudo prime-select get-current Driver configured: offload NVIDIA modules are loaded STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Turn off monitor 2. This used to work until KF5 5.61.0. Now kwrite opens with the .desktop file loaded. But it will in most cases increase the font size of the date label.
