[kwin] [Bug 481984] Flickering menus on the web.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481984 --- Comment #3 from Derek --- (In reply to Nate Graham from comment #2) > Does it happen in Firefox? No. The scrollbar also flickers in sync with the flickering of the menu's and the menu will flicker when moving the mouse or scrolling after closing it like old frames are displaying. link to video of the flickering. https://streamable.com/znwdze Other symptoms in chromium browsers is hovering the chrome menu in the top right, the three dot menu, it will display the highlighted entry on hover but that lags and jumps all around. When the mouse enters the window everything on the page flickers and even as I type this right now everything flickers in the top menu and when I erase text it will delete and then flicker back into view for a second after it was deleted. It just seems like a general lag in chromium and it bogs everything else down. Only does this in Wayland as well. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kfind] [Bug 405022] KFind does not offer DELETE in right-click menu - only 'Move to Wastebin'
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405022 Derek changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEEDSINFO |CONFIRMED Ever confirmed|0 |1 Resolution|WAITINGFORINFO |--- --- Comment #5 from Derek --- Dolphin in more recent times offers 'delete' via Shift+Del (or holding Shift while in the context menu of a file changes 'move to wastebin' to 'delete'). Rather than the workaround, i think it would be nice if Kfind had consistent operation with Dolphin. This is obviously a nice to have, it's not a bug and with Plasma 6 the focus right now this will be a low priority in the scheme of things. But i don't think it should be closed. It seems a very sensible thing to do, when time is available for someone to do it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[partitionmanager] [Bug 475201] New: Encrypted EXT4 USB HDD partitions created by KDE Partition Manager are read-only.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=475201 Bug ID: 475201 Summary: Encrypted EXT4 USB HDD partitions created by KDE Partition Manager are read-only. Classification: Applications Product: partitionmanager Version: 23.04.3 Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: andr...@stikonas.eu Reporter: linux.9v...@simplelogin.co Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY KDE Partition Manager creates encrypted EXT4 USB HDD partitions that are read only as the user - requires sudo to be able to write. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Insert USB HDD (do not mount) 2. Open KDE Partition Manager 3. Identify HDD, delete existing partitions (and if desired, partition table). 4. Create new partition (and table if removed), select EXT4 w/LUKS encryption. 6. Provide password. 7. Selecting either "everybody" or "root" doesn't make a difference for this issue (i tried both). 8. Finalise partition creation. 9. Mount HDD, input password. 10. HDD mounts in /run/media/[user]/[label] 11. Try to create/copy a file using Dolphin or Terminal as user. OBSERVED RESULT - As the user - read access works, write access = permission denied in terminal. In Dolphin, the 'new' or 'paste' option is greyed out or not present. - Using sudo, i could write files via the terminal. EXPECTED RESULT Should be able to copy files or create files as user. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Nobara 38 KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.8 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.109.0 Qt Version: 5.15.10 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I performed the relevant procedure in gnome-disk-utility with the same hardware, and it worked as expected. I could write files to the HDD after i mount and input the password. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Powerdevil] [Bug 472008] New: Controlling monitor brightness over ddcutil sometimes unreliable
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=472008 Bug ID: 472008 Summary: Controlling monitor brightness over ddcutil sometimes unreliable Classification: Plasma Product: Powerdevil Version: 5.27.6 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: christ.de...@gmail.com CC: m...@ratijas.tk, natalie_clar...@yahoo.de Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Controlling the brightness of the monitor using ddcutil generally works but is wonky sometimes. (Due to the nature of ddcutil) it takes a short time until the monitor has adjusted the brightness (like half a second). Therefore, for example changing the brightness by scrolling on the brightness applet feels choppy as it seems it does a blocking wait until the monitor reported the changed brightness value. Also, when the monitor is dimmed to a lower brightness value and is powered off by Plasma because of no user input , it sometimes fails to reset to the previous brightness setting when waking up the monitor again. It just stays at the lowest brightness setting. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Change brightness by scrolling on the brightness control bar icon/applet 2. This mostly happens when moving the mouse diagonally to the upper left direction. This bug is caused by the triangular mouse filter that wrongfully filters a hover event and consequently does not re-select the category after the timeout period as the conditions for the filtering were actually not given. The only way I found it to work is to set it up using the full ipp:// url like so: ipp://user:p...@server.com. Note that this leaks on the password in clear text into the system log, as pointed out in bug 441948. When the printer is set up without providing the password in the url, printing does not work. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Add an ipp printer that requires authentication 2. Print a document 3. A result of this, however, is that dragging multiple items onto the desktop in the bottom right corner makes the view scrollable because some items get placed outside of the visible space. Product: kate Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: christ.de...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY It would be a nice convenience to be able to run a external tool every time the user saves the current file. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=442468 Bug ID: 442468 Summary: Running a formatter as external tool prevents usage of Ctrl+Z Product: kate Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: christ.de...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Running a formatter as an external tool has the ability to save the current file, apply the tool, and reloading it afterwards. For formatting this works great but the reloading of the file wipes the Ctrl+Z buffer and its no longer possible to revert stuff that happened before the formatting. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Make some changes to a file 2. Run the clang-format formatter tool on the whole file 3. Reverting changes before the formatting with Ctrl+Z is no longer possible. OBSERVED RESULT Ctrl+Z does nothing, because the file was reloaded. EXPECTED RESULT It should still be possible to revert old changes.
