[krdc] [Bug 472690] FR: Separate account and remote host data and allow to combine them as needed

2023-07-27 Thread Dirk Heinrichs
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=472690

A few more details: When used with a database, each entry (host or credentials)
can have a private or public scope. To connect to a host, the user needs to
right-click it to get a context menu which has (amongst others) a "Connect
as..." sub menu to select the credentials used for this connection.

Both hosts and credentials can be organized in (nested) folders, where
individual entries can inherit options from the upper level(s).

[krdc] [Bug 472690] New: FR: Separate account and remote host data and allow to combine them as needed

2023-07-27 Thread Dirk Heinrichs
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=472690

Bug ID: 472690
Summary: FR: Separate account and remote host data and allow to
combine them as needed
Classification: Applications
   Product: krdc
   Version: 20.12.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: uwol...@kde.org
  Reporter: dirk.heinri...@altum.de
CC: aa...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

As a long time user of the (Windows) "ASG (now Rocket) Remote Desktop" (ASG)
tool, I would like to have the same convenience of separated account and host
data in KRDC. ASG stores the data in a (shared) SQL database, so that users can
share host definitions. These host definitions contain references to
(eventually private) credential records, which allows for combining host and
credentials as needed. Both host and credential records are presented to the
user in a tree-like structure in the left window pane or in the menu.

This also makes it possible to change a credential that is used by many hosts
in one place only.

2021-07-21 Thread Dirk Heinrichs

Wow, it took nearly 12(!) years until I got the first response to this bug and
now YOU start nagging me after 15 days!?

I've been using Linux for more than 25 years now and have opened countless
tickets in countless projects during those years, but tickest like this one are
the reason I stopped doing so for KDE many years ago.

@KDE Team: Please stop telling people that opening bug reports is a welcome way
to contribute to the project if you're not willing/able to reply to those
reports in a timely manner (even a "wontfix" is better than waiting 12 years).

[krdc] [Bug 429594] New: Doesn't prompt for confirmation if remote RDP certificate has changed, silently closes the connection

2020-11-24 Thread Dirk Heinrichs
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=429594

Bug ID: 429594
Summary: Doesn't prompt for confirmation if remote RDP
certificate has changed, silently closes the
connection
   Product: krdc
   Version: 19.12
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: RDP
  Assignee: uwol...@kde.org
  Reporter: dirk.heinri...@altum.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
After updating the OS on a Windows Server machine, its certificate has changed
which in turn made it impossible to reconnect to it via RDP. I needed to try a
connection from the command line using xfreerdp to confirm the certificate
change. Afterwards I could connect with KRDC again.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect to a Windows Server via RDP
2. Update that server (which might result in a certificate change)
3. Connect to it again

OBSERVED RESULT
Connection was not possible anymore

EXPECTED RESULT
A dialog should pop up asking to confirm the new certificate

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 2012 -> 2016
macOS: N/A
Linux/KDE Plasma: Ubuntu 20.04
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.12.8

2018-06-13 Thread Dirk Heinrichs
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=129672

Errh, no. It's still not transparent. What this whish is about is that I can,
for example, right-click an encrypted text file and open it in kate. The system
should then ask me for my passphrase and decrypt it before passing it to kate,
so that I don't need to take care of the manually decrypting it and removing
the decrypted copy afterwards if I just wanted to read the file.

Same here. But it's not limited to systray icons. Problem affects any plasma
app (application launcher, application menu, clipboard, ...), regardless of
whether it's located in the panel or on the desktop.

In addition to restarting plasma shell, removing and re-adding the app in
question also works (but is tedious, of course).

Version here is 5.8.6 on Debian Stretch.
