[klipper] [Bug 348390] Klipper does not copy selected things

2016-11-11 Thread EMR_Kde
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=348390

--- Comment #9 from EMR_Kde <emre...@gmail.com> ---
I have tried both, and noticed the same behavior. Could it be related my my
mouse settings? I have focus-follows-mouse, but it doesn't raise the window. So
for example, I have two windows open, one in the background, and one in the
foreground. I copy data from the foreground window, then hover the background
window, which gets focus, and paste. Most times it works, sometimes it doesn't.
In any case, if I go to the klipper app, and I select the item I just copied,
it /should/ have a checkbox, and just doesn't, unless I select something else
in the list and select back the primary item.

I mention the focus-follows-mouse, because I have a similar issue when
copy-pasting from screen shots (selecting "PrtScrn" button to bring up
Spectacle). It seems like the image ends up blank, sometimes... again randomly.
I take it the popup menu, or app itself may be interfered with by the window
focus policy.

Don't know, just throwing it out there. I have attached my policy to this bug
report.

Yeah, I tried rolling my own locale because I knew that there would be some
intransigence on this. And plus they said that it uses the system locale... lo
and behold it works with the command line apps, but not with Qt/KDE.

So I don't know... like I said, if they want to use the system locale, USE it,
otherwise give us back KLocale.

You know the phrase (modified for the younger audiences) "[poop] or get off the
pot".

Don't know if this is the right place for an RFE, but ...

So I would like to be able to print selected pages. For example, most print
dialogs have an option to do 'Pages: 1-15,18,33,57' which would print pages one
through fifteen, then only pages eighteen, thirty-three and fifty-seven. There
is only the option to print /all/ or print pages one through fifteen.

Reproducible: Always

Interesting, KDE doesnt even support en_DK locale ...

user@host:~> locale
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TIME=en_DK.UTF-8

Yet, KDE defaults to en_US... so what is it? either you honor the locale, or
allow us to change it like back with kde4

[plasmashell] [Bug 352055] plasma-pa plasmoid not shown in systemtray after startup

2016-08-02 Thread EMR_Kde via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352055

--- Comment #94 from EMR_Kde <emre...@gmail.com> ---
Whatever was fixed by the sni proxy, once it was incorporated into the latest
plasma update, it broke again... this time worse than before... nothing is
showing up in my system tray other than native KDE apps.
At least before Pidgin/Java apps (though broken cause no context menu would
come up) would at least SHOW UP there, now nothing.

[plasmashell] [Bug 355504] xembedsniproxy: java tray icon doesn't work

Yeah, thanks for the suggestion. I thought about that, but then noticed that it
doesn't work at all with DavMail, or other Java apps, so I was wondering if
either something changed or wasn't included at all. It's probably the former.
*sigh* KF5 has been a disaster, this is just one of them. I give up.

So I tried to start a java based app (DavMail for Exchange) and it's not
embedding correctly in my system tray anymore. I tried to install the SNI Proxy
package, to no avail: installed plasma5-workspace-5.5.5.2-12.1.x86_64 obsoletes

Why was this dropped from 5.4?

[kate] [Bug 365189] New: "Print Preview..." doesn't show exact preview of printing

2016-07-07 Thread EMR_Kde via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365189

Bug ID: 365189
Summary: "Print Preview..." doesn't show exact preview of
printing
   Product: kate
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: emre...@gmail.com

Version 15.12.3 was not listed (BTW)

When I click on "Print Preview..." it shows exactly how the /contents/ of the
document will look. However, it does not show the accoutrements, such as
border, header, footer, line numbers etc. I want to know exactly how the pages
are going to look /before/ I print them. Is the margin going to cause spill
over to three pages instead of two? etc.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. type a document
2. File -> Print ...
3. Select/Make sure selected: Options -> Color Mode: Color; Options -> Duplex
Printing: Long Side; Text Settings -> Print Line Numbers; Header & Footer ->
Print Header; Header and Footer -> Print Footer
4. Print the document
5. File -> Print Preview

Actual Results:
No headers, footers, or line numbers or color

Expected Results:
Print Preview to look exactly like what I have printed as a physical copy

I am getting the same error. I think we might have the same bug, even if the
symptoms are different. See my bug #364677. It just hangs when I navigate more
than four clicks on a remote system. But if I open file -> new window, I can
get four more clicks before it hanging.

fileSystemFreeSpace() did not call finished() or error()! Please fix the KIO
slave.

If I leave the window open it just keeps printing: log_kio_sftp: special():

--- Comment #1 from EMR_Kde <emre...@gmail.com> ---
Unsure if these are the same symptoms.
1) I start dolphin from command line (to debug)
2) I sftp://foo.bar.com/my/directory in dolphin
3) I copy/paste something from my homedir to that sftp in/via dolphin
4) it hangs there... the system tray icon keeps rotating, but there is no data
transferring.
5) if started by command line, the program keeps running

So then I start another instance of Dolphin, repeat the above steps, and
everything works as expected.

Note: if I kill the initial instance and start dolphin again from scratch, same
problem happens.

So I went to date/time format and went to select en_DK but it's missing from
the drop down list in "Formats - KDE Control Module" I went through the list
twice, perhaps I missed it for "Time".

[plasmashell] [Bug 364166] New: opening removable device with filemanager -> already mounted message

2016-06-09 Thread EMR_Kde via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364166

Bug ID: 364166
Summary: opening removable device with filemanager -> already
mounted message
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.5.5
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Device Notifier
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: emre...@gmail.com
CC: emre...@gmail.com, kol...@aon.at, wilder...@gmail.com

+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #336224 +++

I plugged in my external USB HDD. The device notifier shows me the device.
I click on the "mount" icon and the device is mounted
df shows me /media/0557795a-d3f2-43b1-b38e-6ca31b1b3a5a
and I could also save a file to the device.
When I now click again on the device-notifier symbol, click on the device, I
get 3 actions shown - on is "Open with filemanager".
When I click this option, I get an error:
Could not mount the following device ...
The device is already mounted ...
Of course it is already mounted, which the device notifier shows correctly!

Reproducible: Always

Expected Results:
Do not try to mount an already mounted device

(Still a problem with KF5)

Same here. I mount the drive with the mount button, then I click to "open with

I don't really care, mount it if it's not mounted, and open file manager,
otherwise just open file manager.

Using KF5, it's a plasmoid, OpenSUSE Leap 42.1

annoying in Eclipse).

"Save clipboard contents on Exit" (Checked)
"Prevent empty clipboard" (Checked)
"Ignore Images" (Checked)
"Ignore Selection" (Checked) - I like my double clipboard ;)
"Remove whitespace" (Checked)
"Enable MIME-based actions" (Checked?!) - I have no actions defined though.

Yeah, I understand that there are some apps that clear the clipboard, but when
they do, all entries are deleted. This is understandable. However, sometimes,
and it bugs me because I cannot readily reproduce it, I copy something, and it
goes into Klipper, but is not "Checkbox"able (if that's a word). I have to
select something underneath it, then select the most recent for it to be
copy/pasteable. Next time it happens I'll be keeping an eye at the similarities
and post them here.

I am definitely in the same boat. I know enough, but not as much needed to port
KLocale to KF5. Further, it also relies on downstream KDE Apps to make use of
the new KLocale5 (or whatever you're going to call it) instead of QLocale
(after years of kapp owners being told to use QLocale).

Interestingly enough, I also found this email from 2011 on removing KLocale.
Had I known what was going to happen, I would have objected back then.
http://kde-core-devel.kde.narkive.com/v0Q0HYO4/locale-in-kf5-qt5

It seems like item #4 never happened: "4) QLocale will add support for most if
not all the KDE options to their parsers/formatters, as well as some options
KDE does not currently support."

The thing is that this was *working* before regressing to QLocale. Why not port
KLocale over to KF5? Just because I am located in the USA doesn't mean that I
want my settings as the "normal" user would have it.

In Windows, OS/X I can change the format of my date and time. For logical and
geeky reasons (mainly ease of sorting, and Linnaeus ease of use) -MM-DD
HH24:MM:SS seems to make the most sense to me. From most general to the most
specific.

What really grinds my gears though, is that this was all working under KDE4...
why change it?

Anytime a notification is fired, KNotify crashes. I don't know why. I have two

is use of BlueTooth and audacious (which I compiled from scratch).

[frameworks-frameworkintegration] [Bug 356840] Crash in KDEPlatformFileDialogHelper::KDEPlatformFileDialogHelper

(In reply to Jason Elwell from comment #9)

Yeah, I am running Kate out of another desktop environment and it's weird... it
stays up in the background, doesn't start when you want it to, freezes
randomly. I've gone back to VIM :-\

In this case, I set my desktop to "Folder view" then as I was changing my
desktop wallpaper. I clicked on "select file". Plasmashell crashed. Then
something else crashed in the background, while I was writing the bug report!!

Don't know, don't care, I am not using KDE5 for now. I just logged in to check
it out, and see how stable it was/would be. I guess my question was answered.
