[kio-extras] [Bug 291835] KIO very slow when copying from network through smb

Holy Moly! round(106/108*100)=98% efficiency and (nearly) 100% speed increase!

Where can I send the bottle of Champagne? (or crate of Belgian beer if that's
your preference...)

Thank you very much for your response. It does indeed seem to be a font issue,
but I can't find any fonts that do what your screenshot shows. Please tell me
which font you're using???

[kdeconnect] [Bug 415349] New: KDE Connect telephony integration doesn't show emojis

2019-12-19 Thread Fabby
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415349

Bug ID: 415349
Summary: KDE Connect telephony integration doesn't show emojis
   Product: kdeconnect
   Version: 1.3.5
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: reproducible
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: messaging-application
  Assignee: si...@ergotech.com
  Reporter: fabrizio.mar...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When receiving or sending SMSes with emojis from the desktop application, they
show up as unprintable characters

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Receive UNICODE emoji, E.G. 
2. Shown on phone is , shown in messaging app is ▢
3. Copy-paste unprintable square
4. Send unprintable square from app

OBSERVED RESULT
Receiving and sending emojis works flawlessly, the display of the emojis
themselves inside the PC app is the issue.
It just feels like 2007 on a Nokia phone trying to communicate with an iPhone
as the Nokia (=KDE connect Telephony app on the PC) just shows ▢ whereas the
phones themselves show the correct characters. 

EXPECTED RESULT
To be able to see the variety of unicode emojis instead of the unprintable
square character. 
