I just tested the "Library of Congress"  and "Open Library" databases, which
are working fine. 
So it seems to be something specific with google.

Still the same.

I am trying to reach "Google Book Search". As soon as I click on search I get
the message: "Could not connect to host www.googleapis.com: SSL negotiation
failed."

I updated tellico yesterday (included in a " brew update / brew upgrade"
routine), and it is still the same.

I just installe tellico through HomeBrew on a brand new Mac (OS 12.3.1), and
could not use the search engine. I receive this error message:
Could not connect to host www.googleapis.com: SSL negotiation failed.

I have no idea what to do (sorry).
