[frameworks-kglobalaccel] [Bug 484884] New: Overriden default shortcuts stop working after relogin

2024-04-01 Thread Jan B.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=484884

Bug ID: 484884
Summary: Overriden default shortcuts stop working after relogin
Classification: Frameworks and Libraries
   Product: frameworks-kglobalaccel
   Version: 6.0.0
  Platform: NixOS
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: kde-b...@keksgesicht.net
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 168034
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=168034=edit
my current kglobalshortcutsrc config file

SUMMARY
When overriding default shortcuts in other options or applications it only
applies to the current session. When login out und in again (and parsing
kglobalshortcutsrc) these shortcuts stop working do nothing. Not even their
default binding. Every other shortcut (which did not trigger a reassign
warning) works normally.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set "Meta+R" or "Meta+Shift+S" for any other application or option than
default and Apply (Shortcuts in System Settings)
2. Logout and Login (alternative reboot)
3. Try again one of the shortcuts set in step 1

OBSERVED RESULT
Shortcut has no function at all

EXPECTED RESULT
Shortcuts work are persistent and consistent over reboots and relogins.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: NixOS 24.05
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0
Qt Version: 6.6.3
Kernel Version: 6.8.2 (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I recognized that are changes between Plasma5 and Plasma6 in how custom
application shortcuts are saved in kglobalshortcutsrc.

Also I get these Messages in the journal on login. They are part
plasma-kwin_wayland.service unit:
Apr 01 11:41:59 cookieclicker kwin_wayland[23270]:
kf.globalaccel.kglobalacceld: Shortcut found twice in kglobalshortcutsrc.
QKeySequence("Meta+R")
Apr 01 11:41:59 cookieclicker kwin_wayland[23270]:
kf.globalaccel.kglobalacceld: Shortcut found twice in kglobalshortcutsrc.
QKeySequence("Meta+Shift+S")

Also testing some other shortcuts like "Meta+E" and they show the same broken
behaviour. Surprisingly when applying "Meta+." to something else it is
mentioned as a duplicate in the journal, but the Emoji Selector is still
opened.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=484724

Bug ID: 484724
Summary: no font scaling for time with seconds on vertical
panels
Classification: Plasma
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 6.0.3
  Platform: NixOS
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor

Created attachment 167923
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=167923=edit
time text draws outside of vertical panel

When using an vertical (floating) panel and setting seconds to show always, the
text is larger than the panel it self and does not get resized to the panels
real width.

SUMMARY
Too large text on vertical panels with seconds

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. use an vertical panel (left or right screen edge)
2. set seconds to show always in Digital Clock widget

OBSERVED RESULT
oversized text

EXPECTED RESULT
font scales to panel width

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

[okular] [Bug 462204] New: Feature Request: Multi-Monitor Presentation with Clock

2022-11-24 Thread Jan B.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=462204

Bug ID: 462204
Summary: Feature Request: Multi-Monitor Presentation with Clock
Classification: Applications
   Product: okular
   Version: 22.08.3
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: kde-b...@keksgesicht.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
My Feature Request is to have something like preview monitor and a clock when
using the presentation mode.
An example for this would be this https://pdfpc.github.io/ but it having an
extra CLI tool only for presenting PDFs on my PC seems not very practical for
me.
This can also be integrated into the normal window, because this is kept open
during the presentation mode.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Select View->Presentation or Ctrl+Shift+P

OBSERVED RESULT
Opens only on one monitor

EXPECTED RESULT
Opens Presentation on two monitors. One with a clock and the other one only the
slides.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Manjaro Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.26.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.99.0
Qt Version: 5.15.7
Graphics Platform: Wayland

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
First to force LibreOffice to open PDFs in "Impress" instead of "Draw" is not
so easy. Second many of my PDFs have render errors when viewed with
LibreOffice. So it is easier to ask you to extend the functionality of the
presentation mode of Okular then asking LibreOffice to change their PDF backend
for my broken LaTeX slides.
Having the presentation mode on one screen and the normal window on the other.
Also running some kind of stopwatch application on top of the okular window for
time tracking is not very nice to use.

[kwin] [Bug 451563] multi monitor Task Switcher

2022-03-26 Thread Jan B.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=451563

It is installed and there are a lot of options, but Grid is not the thing I am
searching for.
My Idea was to merge 2 existing features. My current workaround is to open the
overview effect and select it via mouse. Overview has no arrow key or alt+tab
window switching.
It also would be a Task Switcher that clearly shows where to expect the next
window and gives a idea what windows are open on which monitor.

[systemsettings] [Bug 451564] searching for key combination empties application/service list

2022-03-26 Thread Jan B.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=451564

Removing the w from the search field and left and right are a lot more hits
including the example. Further testing shows this behavior most likely comes up
when the last key in the combination is a single character. But not with all
applications.

Created attachment 144691
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=144691=edit
a plasma notification generated by Kalendar

SUMMARY
Sometimes you include additional information like the meeting link in the
Event.
The reminder notification has very few information about where the my meeting
is.
And launching the Kalendar GUI takes extra steps.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create an Event
2. enter a Location and set a Reminder
3. Wait for Notification

OBSERVED RESULT
Notification with only the time and event name.

EXPECTED RESULT
Either a clickable URL (meeting invite link - location entry) or a button to
open this event in Kalendar

KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.88.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Design Ideas:
- a setting option to configure what to include in the notification (can get
big and ugly)
- Event end or length and location (clickable URL?)
- additional "open event" button
