As someone who was looking for the suspend-then-sleep action in Plasma for
quite some time, I was confused by the UI choice.

What I wanted to configure was suspend-then-sleep when closing the lid. I was
looking for a respective option in the "Buttons event handling" section (which,
btw, is also an odd name for lid-closing actions. I know it's correct from a
technical point of view, but for non-technical users, it doesn't). I didn't see
that I had to select "Suspend" there, and enable the "-then-hibernate" part in
a different section that has nothing to do with lid closing (which is even
above the "Buttons event handling" section).

FWIW, I liked the original suggestion with a separate "Sleep/Suspend, then
hibernate" option much better, because it allowed for separate actions (with or
without "-then-hibernate") for lid-closing, power button, and automatic
timeout. This doesn't seem possible with the current UI.

I don't think this is a duplicate. bug#403426 is about active and inactive
windows, this one here is about light widget theme with dark window
borders/headerbar for *active* windows.

[Breeze] [Bug 404921] New: Light theme with dark CSD/headerbars

2019-02-28 Thread Julius B.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=404921

Bug ID: 404921
Summary: Light theme with dark CSD/headerbars
   Product: Breeze
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: gtk theme
  Assignee: scionicspec...@gmail.com
  Reporter: kde-bugzi...@blln.gr
  Target Milestone: ---

Dark KWin decoration and light headerbar

SUMMARY
I'm using the light Breeze theme with dark Breeze window borders. In this
setup, GTK3 apps with headerbars look out of place with both the light and dark
GTK themes, because either the headerbar will be light as well, or the whole
app will be black.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set Desktop theme to "Breeze Dark", and Qt widget style to "Breeze" (light)
2. Set GTK style to "Breeze" (light)
3. Start a Qt and a GTK3 app (e.g. evince or gedit)
4. Observe the difference in Kwin title bar and GTK3 headerbar

OBSERVED RESULT
The GTK3 headerbars look out of place because they are light, while all other
(Kwin) title bars are dark

EXPECTED RESULT
It would be great if there was an additional third GTK3 theme for light widgets
with dark headerbars (+light window buttons).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This also affects the Firefox CSD, which will render dark window buttons on a
dark title bar (essentially making the window buttons invisible, c.f.
https://github.com/vfrico/firefox-breeze-duo/issues/2).

I can confirm the bug with Plasma 5.13.5-1 on Fedora 29 (see
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1643460 for the downstream
bugreport).

It also happens when plugging/unplugging a USB mouse.
