Hmm. kate 22.12.3, Kubuntu 23.04 - I think I already provided that above...?

Seems not related to FreeBSD. Same here (kate 22.12.3, Kubuntu 23.04).

Ah cool, thanks, that should do for my purposes too. Not changing desktop too
often once it has been set up anyway. :)

Wondering, though, whether there's a more reliable workaround for that.
Restarting plasma seems to work just sometimes, but sometimes the panel just
won't re-appear or apparently there's no way of making it show up again,
leaving adding a new panel (and reconfiguring everything inside) the only
option. That's pretty tedious if one has a customized panel. :(

(Just adding myself to the Ccs. Same issue, up-to-date kubuntu 21.10, installed
yesterday. Seems related to external monitor and doesn't reproducibly happen
with each restart. Will evaluate the workarounds outlined here and see what
happens...)

[plasmashell] [Bug 398859] New: Add plasma search to kicker

2018-09-20 Thread Kristian Rink
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398859

Bug ID: 398859
Summary: Add plasma search to kicker
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.13.5
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Application Menu (Kicker)
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: m...@zimmer428.net
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Currently, on KDE Neon, I see two different ways of "searching applications" on
the desktop:

- Using Plasma Search (either via ALT+TAB or via the "Plasma Search" mini
window) lets me search across a set of configured search providers (not sure
this is the right wording).

- Using the "Search" in kicker (which is toggled using META key) apparently
only searches using a subset of the providers available in Plasma Search.

Desirable behavior would be to have the full Plasma Search available within the
Kicker search bar?
