[kgeography] [Bug 422496] Wrong Map of India.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422496 Laurent G. changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |NOT A BUG Status|REOPENED|RESOLVED --- Comment #5 from Laurent G. --- As for Israel extents, for example, we use english written wikipedia pages as reference https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jammu_and_Kashmir_(union_territory) This is not a claim. This is what we've done and try to keep up with. Personaly, I am curious about your papers and what do pakistani government thinks of them, but this won't change the status of this ticket. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kgeography] [Bug 422496] Wrong Map of India.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422496 Laurent G. changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REPORTED|RESOLVED Resolution|--- |NOT A BUG --- Comment #3 from Laurent G. --- It is right, the map of India is not up to date. It is wrong that Kashmir state is accepted worldwide as entirely in India. I long time ago rejected symmetrical claim from the pakistanes side for world map. It is right that your wording is wrong, a blatant threat not even backed-up by power that could make illusion. In second degree, could be classified as a provocation from a troll. If you could seriously help us update the map you may open a new ticket with facts, not claims. Thanks in advance. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kgeography] [Bug 405419] Tajikistan Map Update
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405419 --- Comment #20 from Laurent G. --- I updated http://lauranger.free.fr/kgeomapp/ for dead links. One can found there links to the plugins sources, as well as some other maps. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kgeography] [Bug 405419] Tajikistan Map Update
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405419 --- Comment #18 from Laurent G. --- In the png you sent, I notices 86 different colors. To which I added one for the black borders. But in the tajikistan, I can only find 67 lines. Could you check where the mismatch lies ? Thanks in advance. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kgeography] [Bug 405419] Tajikistan Map Update
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405419 --- Comment #17 from Laurent G. --- None of the txt file make sense to me. Region information is repeated ad nauseum uselessly. The closest to useful is the tajikistan.txt where we could get the district names by removing text up to and including the semicolon and then the uselessly repetitive District, and Disrtict. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kgeography] [Bug 405419] Tajikistan Map Update
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405419 --- Comment #16 from Laurent G. --- Created attachment 119165 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=119165&action=edit Tajikistan districts map with borders 1 pixel thick I changed the gray for some orange because my plugin does not treat grays like other colos -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kgeography] [Bug 405419] Tajikistan Map Update
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405419 --- Comment #14 from Laurent G. --- Good news, I found back my sources of the C plugin, dated from the 2008-06-08 ... Still have little time to check it is still functional. Stay tuned, but patient. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kgeography] [Bug 405419] Tajikistan Map Update
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405419 --- Comment #6 from Laurent G. --- It used to be easy. Don't know if my plugins to the Gimp still work. Source code for the C plugin vanished from the net when gna.org disappeared, years ago. I looked at hte joined archive, the png for the districts looks like the frontiers are just 1 pixel thick. So the C-plugin might be optional. I'll have to check the python plugin, for coloring nicely, when my chronovores let me some times. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kgeography] [Bug 355145] French department in test mode are displayed with weird characters containing html tag
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355145 Laurent G. changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REPORTED|CONFIRMED Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #2 from Laurent G. --- This one I can confirm. It comes from the french translation file (the po). I tried to reach the origin of this situation but the kgeography.po has been moved from kde4 hierarchy to kf5 hierarchy since then. SVN can not tell me history beyond 2015. I tried gulping up full KDE repo with git-svn but it would take more than a week or two (80k commits in 10 hours, when total has reached over 1.5M) What sadens me more is that just one person complained since more than three years. Have we so few francophone users ? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kgeography] [Bug 397891] KGeography doesn’t handle images with transparency
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397891 --- Comment #7 from Laurent G. --- Hum. If we go your way, Karl, we have two choices : 1) Make transparency level mandatory in division colour specification in kgm. And adapt checker accordingly. Not nice. 2) Cross-check colour from kgm with colour from png to store transparency too in division. Doeable but I don't like it that much. What I had in mind, ten years ago, was to allow recoloring at run-time, so I hesistate between those 2 alternatives, and the status-quo also. Albert is still the lead. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kgeography] [Bug 397891] KGeography doesn’t handle images with transparency
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397891 --- Comment #3 from Laurent G. --- So I turned to ImageMagick identify. We get 282: (219,185,228,255) #DBB9E4FF srgba(219,185,228,1) 241468: (220,220,220, 0) #DCDCDC00 srgba(220,220,220,0) 7353: (241, 14, 14,255) #F10E0EFF srgba(241,14,14,1) But when we read the kmap file, we assign to the division/zone the color 220,220,220,255, as does the function inline Q_DECL_CONSTEXPR QRgb qRgb(int r, int g, int b)// set RGB value { return (0xffu << 24) | ((r & 0xffu) << 16) | ((g & 0xffu) << 8) | (b & 0xffu); } We may warn the use of transparent color in a map, especially as it bring nothing to the game, does it ? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kgeography] [Bug 397891] KGeography doesn’t handle images with transparency
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397891 --- Comment #1 from Laurent G. --- When, using the Gimp, I remove the alpha channel off your updated Norway png file, I can see that previously gray zone that is tagged "Not Norway" exhibits same color as Østfold. That is consistent with the palette showing two colors less than previous map, where only one zone was merged (Nord Trondelag). KGeography strongly relies on palette. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kgeography] [Bug 381078] Scotlands capital edinburgh missing
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=381078 --- Comment #1 from Laurent G. --- I used such a much as below, to craft the Great Britain counties map, http://lauranger.free.fr/kgeomapp/?divi=great-britain_counties&name=Great%20Britain%C2%A0(counties) : http://www.britain-visitor.com/britain-travel-guide/current-counties-uk where the Edinburgh area seems to belong to Midlothian County (n°21). In contrast to Scotland areas and regions maps, where Edingburgh appears on its own right, as we can see on : http://lauranger.free.fr/kgeomapp/?divi=scotland_areas&name=Scotland%C2%A0(areas) and http://lauranger.free.fr/kgeomapp/?divi=scotland_regions&name=Scotland%C2%A0(regions) "On par with placing Washington DC in Washington State", you say. Hum, a 22.5km problem to a 4500km mismatch. Would you write in french, I'd locate you not far from Marseille (cliché inside) ;-) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
