[dolphin] [Bug 376203] New: Dolphin (or terminal ?) crashed when trying to open it as sub-window in dolphin (F4)

2017-02-08 Thread Martin Jost
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=376203

Bug ID: 376203
Summary: Dolphin (or terminal ?) crashed when trying to open it
as sub-window in dolphin (F4)
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 16.08.2
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: nos...@majo.name
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: dolphin (16.08.2)

Qt Version: 5.6.1
Frameworks Version: 5.26.0
Operating System: Linux 4.4.36-8-default x86_64
Distribution: "openSUSE Leap 42.2"

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I tried to open a terminal, using [F4]

- Unusual behavior I noticed:
The terminal opened (very) shortly and then closed again. (Just a sort of
flicker)
I tried this several times, after some tries dolphoin crashed with this info.
I have already seen this behaviour (terminal closes immediately) before, but no
crash.

When I retried another time, it didn't hapen; "even" not when going to the same
directory I had been in.

BUT: Suddenly the terminal now stays open (as expected)
This now also works again for the next dolphin I started.

(Don't know if thsi is helpful, given the fact, that the crash occured just
once)

The crash does not seem to be reproducible.

[kphotoalbum] [Bug 374882] New: Double clicks needed instead of single ones

2017-01-10 Thread Martin Jost
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374882

Bug ID: 374882
Summary: Double clicks needed instead of single ones
   Product: kphotoalbum
   Version: 5.0.1
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Browser
  Assignee: kpab...@willden.org
  Reporter: nos...@majo.name
  Target Milestone: ---

In my system settings, I have configured KDE to use double clicks to
"open files and folders " (as the explanation says)
Now I have to also use double clicks e.g. to "enter" the different top
level items on the main screen. ("People", "Places", ...)
Even if I want to select an entry in "Settings/Birthdays", I need a
double click.
These turn to single clicks, if I change this KDE setting.
But because I want this "single click to just select", this is no good
option.
The behaviour had been single clicks, irrespective of the settings in
previous versions. (So I assume this is an effect of KDE4 <=> 5 and not a
conscious change in KPA itself)

I'm using openSUSE Leap 42.2 as OS (QT 5.6.1; KDE Plasma 5.8.3, KDE Framework
5.26.0)

[konsole] [Bug 374174] dolphin crashed on trying to change dir

2017-01-08 Thread Martin Jost
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374174

Hello,
yes, this might well be konsole actually.
I just had the crash again (similar stack trace). Unfortunately I can't
reproduce it at will.
This (again) happened on starting dolphin, but with a terminal window ("[F4]")
open at start. (I assume this had been the same the first time - but to me
"dolphin" crashed) The interesting thing is, that it seems the console had a
problem to expand the variables used in my prompt. But before I could have a
closer look, the whole dolphin including the console crashed.
The stack trace looks similar to me. (Attached)

I have a question to the request:
"If you can reproduce the crash again, please install debug symbols and attach
a new backtrace in this report.
See also: https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging";

Do I get this right: I need to compile from source to do so ?
https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/Debugging_symbols

Or do I need to just add some '*Devel*'-RPMs ?
(Which ones ? / How to find out which ones ?)

Regards

Martin

[kphotoalbum] [Bug 373264] New: Selecting a "Token" while in fullscreen (or "big eniugh") makes some of the entries on homescreen vanish

Bug ID: 373264
Summary: Selecting a "Token" while in fullscreen (or "big

vanish
   Product: kphotoalbum
   Version: 5.0.1
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general

  Reporter: nos...@majo.name
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 102623
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=102623&action=edit
Screenshot with bug visible

- Bring KPA to fullscreen
- Select "Tokens"
- Choose one

=>
Part of the icons on the home screen are gone.
Among others "view". (See attached screenshot)
Resizing gets them back.

This doesn't seem to happen for other selection actions - like "places", .. -
just for "tokens"
It happens on my laptop (screen 1440 x 900) reproducibly, when KPA is full size
or close. It doesn't seem to happen, when it is "small enough".

I'm using OpenSuse 42.2; patches one week old.

- Select a category and an entry there
- Pick a date
- [OK] or [Apply] crashes KPA with a segment violation

This is reproducible.
The category doesn't matter.

[kphotoalbum] [Bug 370373] New: Please sort on saving index.xml

2016-10-09 Thread Martin Jost via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370373

Bug ID: 370373
Summary: Please sort on saving index.xml
   Product: kphotoalbum
   Version: 4.7.2
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: XML backend
  Assignee: kpab...@willden.org
  Reporter: nos...@majo.name

Currently it seems the isn't sorted in any way in the
index.xml.
It seems in addition that it gets rearranged on saving.
I keep my index.xml versioned using RCS and I usually do a rcsdiff before
committing an updated version.
For this purpose it is good to have as few changes as possible and above all
only "real" changes.
While i see that the order is irrelevant for KPA (so it probably doesn't care)
it is annoying for diffing versions.
(I do this to avoid screwing up my DB)
So I would like to see sorted reasonably. My suggestion would
be to sort by
category/group-name/member (in this order of precedence)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add a new tag
2. rcsdiff the newly created index.xml
3. It not only differs in the newly added tag, but the order within
 changed in many places

Actual Results:
see above

Expected Results:
Only changes in for actually added/changed/removed tags

Example:

[Phonon] [Bug 358092] digikam crashed on trying dot downloadf photos from Fairphone 2 in PTP mode

2016-01-17 Thread Martin Jost via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=358092

This is not specifically connected to the Fairphone 2; I've seen a similar
behaviour when trying to download photos from a CF card in a (USB3) card
reader. That definitely worked "some time ago". (It's the usual way to get
photos from my SLR)
I mentioned the FP2, because my first assumption had been "brand new HW".

Backtrace from that crash with the CF card & reader:
