A recent Plasma upgrade made it so terminal emulator alacritty gets incorrectly
resized to a 2x1 window when opened.

I opened a bug report with alacritty and they said this is a KDE issue, so I'm
reporting it here. I have not seen this resize bug effect other programs
outside of alacritty.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open alacritty

OBSERVED RESULT

alacritty window is tiny (2x1)

Thanks for commenting! I deleted my entire Firefox profile and the icon appears
in the task manager as intended. Not sure what happened, but it's not a bug
with Plasma.

[plasmashell] [Bug 438762] New: Firefox icon does not appear in icons-only task manager in Wayland

2021-06-16 Thread Matthew Cohen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=438762

Bug ID: 438762
Summary: Firefox icon does not appear in icons-only task
manager in Wayland
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.22.1
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
Component: Task Manager and Icons-Only Task Manager
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: co...@matthewbriancohen.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY

When running 5.22.1 in Wayland, starting Firefox (with MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1
environmental variable) leads to the Firefox icon appearing in the task
manager, then disappearing. The window is still open, but the icon is not
visible in the task manager. I have not had this problem with other programs,
and under X11, I get the intended behavior of the icon in the task manager.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start a Plasma Wayland session
2. Enable Firefox to use Wayland
3.

OBSERVED RESULT

The Firefox icon disappears from the task manager.

EXPECTED RESULT

The Firefox icon remains, along with icons of other programs.
