[okular] [Bug 396137] New: Okular hangs when scrolling fast on both pdf and djvu documents
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396137 Bug ID: 396137 Summary: Okular hangs when scrolling fast on both pdf and djvu documents Product: okular Version: 1.4.2 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org Reporter: maxim.starga...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Fast scrolling through large pdf or djvu document sometimes causes okular to fail to display content of the pages from some point. It just sits consuming 100% CPU time, pages content never displayed (empty white pages are displayed with okular logo in the left upper corner). Meanwhile interface remains responsive and pages, rendered before the hang occured, are still displayed when you scroll back. Okular does not actually crash, it just hangs, endlessly running at 100% load. Most often can be reproduced when holding PgDn(PgUp) continuosly for some time so okular is forced to go very fast, skipping pages. Sometimes it occurs when you type in some page number from the middle of the document and go directly. This bug is much easier to reproduce when processor is heavily loaded in background (i.e. building stuff). In that case it could be reproduced almost every time with any large document. When system is idling it still happens sometimes but you have to try for a while. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Yes, it was fully composited, even part of the Present All Windows animation was visible on it (most of the windows thumbnails where "presented" on the main display, but not visible because of the image freeze). And I was able to drag blindfolded "frozen" application from the main display to attached monitor, where it was functional, while "screenshot" of this app was still presented on main display. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Thank you for helping pinpointing the cause. What is the current status of this option, btw? Is it considered obsolete and replaced by Tearing Prevention menu in Compositor Settings? Unrelated: Removing TearFree option changed apearence of xembed-sni-proxi icon (Dropbox, to be precise). Now it looks like a black square with a dropbox icon in it, before it blended nicely with a default Breeze light theme. Is it known behaviour? Can I disable xembed-sni-proxi all together? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357009 --- Comment #6 from Max Sydorenko <maxim.starga...@gmail.com> --- > Does this > > image of window open on the laptop display is frozen > mean the VGA section works just fine? Yes, it does. > Does suspending/resuming the compositor (SHIFT+Alt+F12) resolve the frozen > display as well? Yes. > Does the EGL or xrender backend ("kcmshell5 kwincompositing") expose the > same behavior? > (I assume xrender won't) Both are free of this problem. > Does this have any impact: >KWIN_USE_BUFFER_AGE=0 KWIN_EXPLICIT_SYNC=0 KWIN_USE_INTEL_SWAP_EVENT=0 > KWIN_PERSISTENT_VBO=0 kwin_x11 --replace & No, same behavior. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357009 --- Comment #8 from Max Sydorenko <maxim.starga...@gmail.com> --- Sorry for my last digression. It is better to ask David Edmundson about those things, I somehow mixed him in my mind with Thomas. Thank you once again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 350060] Device notification and use
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=350060 Max Sydorenko <maxim.starga...@gmail.com> changed: What|Removed |Added CC||maxim.starga...@gmail.com --- Comment #4 from Max Sydorenko <maxim.starga...@gmail.com> --- I want to confirm this issue with Plasma 5.5. Also, probably related problem. Sometimes, after notification popped, I can not open the menu by simply clicking on the icon. When it happens I have to click first on Battery and Brightness icon (for example) to "unfreeze" Device notification. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
