Hi
My apologies for the delayed reply

I discovered the issue was my laptop and not krita, as the same problem
occurred regardless of the application

I have been working with this same issue since 4/5/2022. I have been unable to
launch Digikam since then. I have copied all data to a safe location. I
upgraded DigiKam from 7.5.0 to 7.6.0. I was using MariaDB 10.6.5 on my windows
10 system. Recently i read on this forum, that MariaDB 10.6.x will not work
with Digikam (although i have been using it since last November). I have
reinstalled MariaDB 10.6.5, tried NariaDB 10.6.7, and more recently,  did a
clean install of 10.5.15. I have also found the orphan PrivChev.ibd file and
renamed it.

Now I am receiving the following error: Database process exited unexpectedly
during initial connection Executable: C:/Program Files/MariaDB
10.5/bin/mysqld.exeArguments:
--defaults-file=C:\Users\Mom\AppData\Local\digikam\mysql.conf,
--datadir=G:\photos\.mysql.digikam\db_data, --skip-networking=0,
--port=3307Process crashed

Please advise

I will also vote for having an option to enable it again with the oxygen theme.
I tried the new Konsole version using Kubuntu 21.10 backports. 
IMHO the old behavior was much more consistent when using a random background
color.

For now i will stick with 21.08.

I have saved a copy of each of the database files from early September. Can I
use the previous copy of digikam4.db instead of creating a new database? Can I
just reclaim digikam4.db or must I reclaim all 4 files? How much data will I
lose by creating a new database?

I installed 7.4.0 on your recommendation when I had an issue with metadata
edits not being persistent with 7.3.0. That solved my problem.

I hope that I have properly performed the instructions that you gave me to
create the necessary log file for you. I have attached the log file.

I was working on organizing and annotating my images.
I exited and restarted the application.
I performed a soft reboot of the computer.
I copied the database files (4 of them) to another file location.
I performed a full shut down of the computer.
I uninstalled and reinstalled digiKam 7.4.0.
I uninstalled and installed digiKam 7.4.0 debug.
I have verified with file explorer that all of the images still exist in all of
the folders.
I am still not able to view my images in digiKam (except for 1).

I need to know how to correct this situation
