[plasmashell] [Bug 353975] Black screen on second display.

2016-10-06 Thread Nick Cross via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=353975

--- Comment #86 from Nick Cross  ---
I occasionally see it on Fedora 24 if the screen locks itself and turns off.
The laptop screen on a dual head docked display then doesn't come back to life.
My workaround (until I get Plasma 5.8 :-) ) is, using the working monitor,
resize the laptop display. That seems to kick it back to life and then I resize
it back to normal.

I use the default app. The problem for me is not on the android side but in the
desktop side. The notification on the desktop doesn't last for sufficient time
and there is no way of getting it back.

I can confirm I can see something like this as well. Note I do *not* loose
pairing with the phone but I can replicate the popup issue.

Now but 368172 is fixed I was trying out the new features and sending a test
message to myself I see the popup, which, if I'm *really* quick I can click the
button on and then reply (which works fine!).

I think there needs to be a better way of accessing this feature.

While I haven't compiled up anything on KDE locally of late, or tried uploading
a custom package to the phone I'd be happy to give it a go with some
guidelines.

>From what I can see of the code it adds the following ciphers

 +// Setting supported ciphers manually
 +// Top 3 ciphers are for new Android devices, botton two are for old
Android devices
 +// FIXME : These cipher suites should be checked whether they are
supported or not on device
 +QList socketCiphers;
 +socketCiphers.append(QSslCipher("ECDHE-ECDSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384"));
 +socketCiphers.append(QSslCipher("ECDHE-ECDSA-AES128-GCM-SHA256"));
 +socketCiphers.append(QSslCipher("ECDHE-RSA-AES128-SHA"));
 +socketCiphers.append(QSslCipher("RC4-SHA"));
 +socketCiphers.append(QSslCipher("RC4-MD5"));
 +

Is there a way of enabling (more) debug to see what cipher(s) the desktop and
android apps are attempting to use?

[KScreen] [Bug 355528] Multiple monitor support is erratic

2016-01-27 Thread Nick Cross via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355528

--- Comment #13 from Nick Cross  ---
Interesting ; I've found that calling "kscreen-console bug" often makes it pick
up the extra display and turn it on.
My scenario is the laptop is suspended, I wake it up, plugin it into the dock
and connect the second monitor to the laptop's display port (not the docks). By
calling kscreen-console, then restarting plasmashell it seems work around it,

>From what I can see the notifications are appearing on the desktop with the
panel. There are still quirks with multiscreen handling (screen waking up etc)
but that is unrelated to this issue. Thanks!

I can't see any settings for location. Popups are not movable to a location as
far as I can see. And notify-send does not provide anything for that.

*Interesting* - never knew that was there ;-)

Ok I am at home not at work so this is testing in a single laptop
configuration. Previously the popups would appear on the left hand side of the
laptop screen rather than right. Custom selecting the right hand side does
indeed make them appear in the correct place. Bizarrely deselecting custom
location - they still now appear on the right hand side.

@Martin Klapetek : I am seeing this on Fedora 23 , fully updated (although
without this update which is still in testing :
https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2015-f0aa62dc50 ).

I can easily reproduce it by calling "notify-send test" from the command line -
the popup appears on the left, not the right.

Actually, my mistake - sorry; I see now, after taking another look, the
information on whether a window is minimised or not has not been lost - there
is a thin gray border surrounding non-minimised windows.

Has a separate bug been spawned to display whether a window is minimised or
not? As with the 5.5.0 update I have not lost that information.

[kwin] [Bug 356160] New: xinput with remapped mouse button not working

2015-12-01 Thread Nick Cross via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356160

Bug ID: 356160
   Summary: xinput with remapped mouse button not working
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.4.3
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: k...@goots.org

Using Fedora 23, fully up to date with kernel 4.2.6-301.fc23.x86_64 and
frameworks 15.08.1 I am having a problem with remapped mouse buttons. This was
working until recently.
I have a Logitech USB mouse which I run
xinput --set-button-map 'Logitech USB Laser Mouse' 1 2 3 4 5 6 2 8 9
therebye setting the middle button 'right click' to emulate paste as well.
However, while that works in e.g. Emacs, Thunderbird, in Konsole and KWrite
there is no effect. The middle standard paste button works as per normal.
xev reports exactly the same event for both mouse buttons :
ButtonPress event, serial 40, synthetic NO, window 0x481,
root 0x11e, subw 0x0, time 5992104, (55,91), root:(55,120),
state 0x10, button 2, same_screen YES
Its just the KDE apps seem no longer to detect it.

Reproducible: Always
