Hi, I haven't had an in-depth look yet, but I know a work-around:
run 
emerge -i --target=gitHEAD cmake-pkg
and then go ahead.
This will hopefully be fixed in the next cmake release.

I updated the wiki a bit, I am not sure if I should remove the parts about
stable branches as well (as there currently is no stable branch)

Which branch are you working on? Please keep in mind that all non-master
branches are basically not maintained...
