[plasmashell] [Bug 367663] Adding a web browser widget screenlocks the desktop forever.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367663 --- Comment #3 from PhillB--- Hi, I was able to press ctrl-alt-delete which produced the logout dialog. I took that to mean my desktop was operating normally, but just not accessible. I could log out too. When I logged in again the desktop appeared but soon locked again. It was never responsive to input after the first (screen?)lock. Do you still want me to try Alt+Space? I'd have to trash my desktop again :-( P -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kscreenlocker] [Bug 360396] kscreenlocker-greet ignores KB and Mouse after screen energy saving activates
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360396 --- Comment #24 from PhillB--- Had a segfault window on plasma-desktop this morning after unlocking. Very unusual. That window might have been there for some time. I just closed it and everything seems to work OK (probz bad things going on I can't see though). Using latest drv-intel and old kscreenlock_greet binary. Seems to indicate: 1) latest drv-intel and latest kscreenlock_greet don't like each other. 2) Old drv-intel and latest kscreenlock_greet do like each other. 3) Latest drv-intel and old kscreenlock_greet mostly like each other. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kscreenlocker] [Bug 360396] kscreenlocker-greet ignores KB and Mouse after screen energy saving activates
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360396 --- Comment #23 from PhillB--- The old kscreenlocker_greet binary is still working well here. No lockups so far with the latest xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.99.917-19.20151206.fc23.x86_64 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kscreenlocker] [Bug 360396] kscreenlocker-greet ignores KB and Mouse after screen energy saving activates
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360396 --- Comment #22 from PhillB--- OK So I've done the extraction of kscreenlocker_greet from "plasma-workspace-5.4.2-4.fc23.x86_64.rpm". Turns out the packaging was restructured on Fedora 23 from 5.4.2-4 to 5.5.5 and kscreenlocker was broken out into its own RPM. rpm2cpio "./Fedora/23/repo/p/plasma-workspace-5.4.2-4.fc23.x86_64.rpm" | cpio -idmv and then copy just the binary for kscreenlocker_greet over the current revision. The drv-intel is the latest version RPM with the new mode thingie 2->3. All works OK. No problems so far (early days). Obviously the security issue is present in this setup. Will report what happens over the next couple of days. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kscreenlocker] [Bug 360396] kscreenlocker-greet ignores KB and Mouse after screen energy saving activates
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360396 --- Comment #21 from PhillB--- I can report that the screen locking issue seems fixed with the downgraded xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.99.917-16.20150729.fc23.x86_64.rpm There have not been any problems so far. For completeness I will now upgrade the intel driver and downgrade kscreenlocker-greet to see if the issue manifests itself or otherwise. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kscreenlocker] [Bug 360396] kscreenlocker-greet ignores KB and Mouse after screen energy saving activates
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360396 --- Comment #20 from PhillB--- I have the downgraded the intel driver and have the system working now. I'll report on its progress over the next few days. I have had the system lock and unlocking without problems so far. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kscreenlocker] [Bug 360396] kscreenlocker-greet ignores KB and Mouse after screen energy saving activates
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360396 --- Comment #18 from PhillB--- Oops I forgot to put kscreenlocker-greet back in place. I can activate the kscreenlocker-greet manually now from the right click menu and it unlocks. However it looks like the power managment stuff does work anymore with the older drv-intel. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kscreenlocker] [Bug 360396] kscreenlocker-greet ignores KB and Mouse after screen energy saving activates
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360396 --- Comment #17 from PhillB--- OK I've downgraded the xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.99.917-19.20151206.fc23.x86_64 back to xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.99.917-16.20150729.fc23.x86_64.rpm. kscreenlocker-greeter now says: The screenlocker is broken and unlocking is not possible anymore. In order to unlock switch to a virtual terminal (e.g. Crtl+Alt+F2), log in and execute the command: loginctl unlock-sessions Afterwards switch back to the running session (Ctrl+Alt_F1) I think I'll abandon downgrading now. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kscreenlocker] [Bug 360396] kscreenlocker-greet ignores KB and Mouse after screen energy saving activates
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360396 --- Comment #16 from PhillB--- Hi Rex, The date on the package for xorg-x11-drv-intel-2.99.917-19.20151206.fc23.x86_64 in the repo is: 16 Feb 2016 i.e. entirely possible this driver has effected kscreenlocker-greeter in some way. Also worth noting is that xscreensaver hasn't missed a beat so far. Also it does seem to have a locking feature which asks me for password sometimes too. I probz don't have it configured correctly yet. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kscreenlocker] [Bug 360396] kscreenlocker-greet ignores KB and Mouse after screen energy saving activates
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360396 --- Comment #13 from PhillB--- I'm now trying to replace kscreensaver_greeter with xscreensaver as per sort of this: http://www.colickyclown.com/a/loader.php/sites/ColickyClown/faq/00059/ I have the screens powering down nicely and they seem to light up again every time (for now at least, I've only just now got it working). The downside is the system isn't locked, but I can't work with the intermittent loss of my desktop. I suspect my issue might be related to the fix for CVE-2016-2312. I'd have to back-level to prior to kscreenlocker-5.5.4-3.fc23 to confirm. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 357007] kscreenlocker_greet unresponsive when using compositor
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357007 --- Comment #42 from PhillB--- Just a quick note: I noticed a couple of weeks ago (and meant to add it here) that when the screenlocker becomes unresponsive to KB/Mouse the shift key still works. That is to say the bold notice, indicating the shift key is active, appears when you press the shift key and goes away when you release it. However, that probably doesn't help I suspect. [kwin] [Bug 357007] kscreenlocker_greet unresponsive when using compositor
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357007 PhillBchanged: What|Removed |Added CC||phi...@webwombat.com.au --- Comment #36 from PhillB --- I think this is the same as my issue (360396) which I thought was resolved. However it "came back" intermittently as noted here. For me usually killing the kscreenlocker_greeter fixes things and I can flick back and type in the password. Once, however, I did that and it unlocked but both screens stayed black. I could see the mouse pointer whizzing around on the screens though. My hardware is totally different (onboard graphics dual screen VGA+HDMI). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kscreenlocker] [Bug 360396] kscreenlocker-greet ignores KB and Mouse after screen energy saving activates
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360396 --- Comment #12 from PhillB--- Oops, it's back. Seems intermittent now. Most of the time it just works and unlocks, however, today it went deaf to the KB and mouse twice. One time I used the workaround and unlocked only to find the screens stayed black, but I could see the mouse cursor whizzing around across the screens. Weird stuff. The black screens seem to indicate the whole of KDE was still asleep. I used: killall -u phillb which lost everything, but I was able to log back in and get going again. [kscreenlocker] [Bug 360396] New: kscreenlocker-greet ignores KB and Mouse after screen energy saving activates
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360396 Bug ID: 360396 Summary: kscreenlocker-greet ignores KB and Mouse after screen energy saving activates Product: kscreenlocker Version: unspecified Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: greeter Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: phi...@webwombat.com.au CC: bhus...@gmail.com, mgraess...@kde.org kscreenlocker-5.5.5-1.fc23.x86_64 KB and mouse dead after screensaver actives. To work around I use (ctrl-F2): ps -ef | grep kscreenlocker which returns something like: phillb 30194 3383 0 13:08 ?00:00:12 /usr/libexec/kscreenlocker_greet --graceTime 5000 --ksldfd 48 then: kill -9 30194 which restarts kscreenlocker-greet. Ctrl-F1 and then the KB and mouse are back. I can type my password and life goes on. This may not be related to kscreenlocker at all however... have to start somehwere. Only started about a week or two ago after an update. Just found the workaround today. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set screen energy saving on. 2. Wait for screen to go to power saving mode (cup of coffee) 3. Wake system up. KB and Mouse look dead (but they are working fine - Crtl-F2). Actual Results: KB and mouse look dead. Expected Results: touch KB or mouse and system should respond. [kde] [Bug 356819] New: Trying to reopen previous bug - (sorry I need a howto). KDE desktop multiscreen doesn't work again.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=356819 Bug ID: 356819 Summary: Trying to reopen previous bug - (sorry I need a howto). KDE desktop multiscreen doesn't work again. Product: kde Version: unspecified Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org Reporter: phi...@webwombat.com.au Either Screen go black or the desktop from the right screen sometimes goes to the left screen or vice-versa while the other screen is black. Desktop fail to start on black screen. The black screen will display windows fine. Sometimes lots of crashes reported on startup now. Was working OK. Two computers with the same issue here. Logging in, then logging out several times (like 3 to 6 times) eventually seems to make it work. Then everything works perfectly until the next login. If the computer crashes for any reason then it takes longer (more fiddling about) to get it going again. Fedora 23 now. All updates. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
