This has been fixed for some time. I confirm 3.6.1 starts as expected.

I compiled kstars locally, and the bug did not occur. I suspect this is an
issue in the PPA build.

Seems to work fine in 3.4.3.

I started KStars and then EKOS. I attached my arduino-based Moonlite-command
set focuser, my arduino-based SQM and each of my ASI cameras and filter wheel
with no issues.

2020-04-23 Thread RD Beck

2020-04-23 Thread RD Beck

Bug ID: 420490
Summary: KStars crashes on start of INDI server
   Product: kstars
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: mutla...@ikarustech.com
  Reporter: b...@ripabe.net
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: kstars (3.4.2)

Qt Version: 5.12.4
Frameworks Version: 5.62.0
Operating System: Linux 5.3.0-46-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 19.10

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed: I started KStars, clicked on
the EKOS icon, confirmed the correct configuration was selected and clicked on
start. No devices are scheduled to be connected at start up.

- Unusual behavior I noticed: Immediately after the INDI control panel is
visible on the screen, I get the message that KStars has crashed and all the
windows disappear.

- Custom settings of the application: This is the same setup I used in 1.8.4

The crash can be reproduced every time.

New crash information added by DrKonqi

kstars (3.4.0) using Qt 5.12.4

- What I was doing when the application crashed:

KStars starts fine. The crash occurs when I start INDI server, no devices
connected. Not all devices in the profile are presently attached.

Happened on consecutive startups. Can sometimes be non-repeatable.
