[plasmashell] [Bug 377682] New: Task bar regularly locks up

2017-03-16 Thread RNG
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=377682

Bug ID: 377682
Summary: Task bar regularly locks up
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.9.0
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Task Manager
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: rga...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

I am running KDE Neon upgraded to the latest version (5.9.0) with updates being
applied every day or so. The taskbar (ie: the windows list on the bottom on the
screen which allows to you click & select a window) is running in grouped mode
(not sure if this is relevant) and it regularly locks up. Sometimes it will go
for a day or two without locking up, sometimes it takes an hour or so to
lockup. When this happens, clicking on a window in the task bar has no effect
(ie: the grouped window item is not expanded); sometimes it just takes a long
time (like 10 seconds or so) for the window list to appear, sometimes nothing
happens at all.

My workaround for this right now is to kill plasmashell and the start a new
instance (from command line) but obviously something is going wrong here.

I don't know what additional info to give you; if you can provide instructions
as to what additional info to gather, I will try and do so.

OK, great that you managed to reproduce. BTW, I don't get a crash dialog when
this happens.

I'm sorry, I'm not a C/C++ dev and have no idea how/where to find the backtrace
for this.

[plasmashell] [Bug 376205] New: Clicking on grouped window list and then ctrl-clicking on item in task bar crashes plasmashell

2017-02-08 Thread RNG
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=376205

Bug ID: 376205
Summary: Clicking on grouped window list and then ctrl-clicking
on item in task bar crashes plasmashell
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.9.0
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Task Manager
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: rga...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

If you have a grouped window list (say, many browser windows) in the task bar
and you do a (normal) click on the grouped window list the window list expands
and shows the individual windows. If you then do a ctrl-click on the item in
the task bar (ie: the root element of the expanded window list) plasmashell
crashes.

Note: all "click" actions refer to a left mouse button click.
