OMG! Now I see, and it WORKS ... But, you know, this isn't really very
intuitive. :-)

Has this been changed in newer releases? If not, I'd like to convert this bug
report into a feature reuqest. :-)

Thanks for the feedback. I'm currently stuck on 5.5 with Kubuntu, but I'll be
able to test next release.

But just to clarify what I'm talking about, I attached a screenshot of
systemsettings, which shows only one monitor in the preview, even though there
are two.

[systemsettings] [Bug 369384] New: Dual Monitor: only unified output

2016-09-26 Thread RalphB via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369384

Bug ID: 369384
Summary: Dual Monitor: only unified output
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.5.5
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: p...@endlos.net

I have two monitors connected to my Intel Skylake onboard graphics, using DVI
and HDMI connectors.

In systemsettings, only one monitor is shown in the top graphics window as
"HDMI3". In the primary display, I can select HDMI2 or HDMI3.

Both monitors show the same screen, despite "unify outputs" not being chosen.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. connect two monitors to HDMI and DVI of Intel onboard graphics
2. open systemsettings
3. unselect "unify outputs"

Actual Results:
both screen shows same image

Expected Results:
desktop spread over both monitors, showing a different image each

[plasmashell] [Bug 368756] Plasmashell adds obsolete widgets

2016-09-15 Thread RalphB via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368756

OK, that's fine, I understand.

Two suggestions (although this is probably not the best place for this):
1. add a note in the tutorials/documentation
2. create a widget/program that does just call engine->trimComponentCache(), if
that is possible

Ah sorry, I withdraw comment 3 -- that installation (from GitHub) DID fail. :-/
Installing as ZIP directly adds the widget to the widget menu.

No, I don't. So I am supposed to do that? This makes testing of widgets
(where plasmawindowed is not enough) quite difficult.

Is there a workaround/different tool (kpackagetool5?) that won't require
logging off?

BTW, I'm note sure if this is related, but when I "download a new plasma
widget", they are shown as "installed", but they won't actually show in the
widget menu right away. This is really confusing at it seems that the
installation failed.

[plasmashell] [Bug 368756] New: Plasmashell adds obsolete widgets

2016-09-13 Thread RalphB via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368756

Bug ID: 368756
   Summary: Plasmashell adds obsolete widgets
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.5.5
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Panel
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: p...@endlos.net

I do widget development and install new versions of widgets locally with
plasmapkg2. But when I want to add this newly installed widget version on the
desktop or in the panel, a previous version is installed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create widget (plasmoid), e.g.

import QtQuick 2.0
Item {
id: main
Text {
id: greeting
anchors.centerIn: main
text: "hello world"
}
}

2. Install widget with plasmapkg2 -i hello.

3. Add hello widget to desktop -> you see "hello world". Remove widget.

4. Change code above into 'text: "good-bye world"'

5. Update widget with plasmapkg2 -u hello.

6. Add widget to desktop -> ???

Actual Results:
hello world

Expected Results:
good-bye world

[konsole] [Bug 366673] New: Konsoles not restored at all

2016-08-11 Thread RalphB via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=366673

Bug ID: 366673
Summary: Konsoles not restored at all
   Product: konsole
   Version: 15.12.3
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: konsole-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: p...@endlos.net

When I re-login, the session is restored, but there's a 80% chance that none of
the Konsole windows is restored at all.

There are already many similar bug reports, but this is not about details about
wrong size, position, or tab arrangement, but the entire Konsole window is
missing.

Sessions work fine for all other applications so far.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
0. Set Session management to "restore last"
1. Login in
2. Open a few konsoles
3. Logout
4. Login again

Actual Results:
no Konsoles

Expected Results:
all Konsoles
