[yakuake] [Bug 433171] Yakuake Opens, but does not close under wayland
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=433171 --- Comment #6 from Ricardo J. Barberis --- I have a similar problem on Wayland now which I believe is related to this. With "Use Open/Retract action to focus window" enabled, F12 never focuses Yakuake if it's open behind another window, only if it's retracted. Especially anoying if you have "Keep window open when it loses focus" (translated from spanish, might be inaccurate) enabled too. I had to make a window rule to make Yakuake show up in the window switcher for this reason, and because I'm used to Alt+Tab between Yakuake and my web browser. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kwin] [Bug 460594] Plasma freeze happening since 5.26.0 update
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=460594 --- Comment #28 from Ricardo J. Barberis --- (In reply to Bernhard Übelacker from comment #25) > So one data point might be the graphics driver, are all experiencing this > hang using an AMD graphics card? Nope, I'm on an Intel system, *but* I mostly experience kwin_x11 crashes (it actuallt dies without Dr. Konqui showing up and I have to start it via konsole/yakuake/krunner, whichever I can access at that moment) and only a few plasmashell freezes in between. I did notice that when kwin dies repeatedly, if I restart plasmashell it won't die again, at least for the rest of the day. Also, the crashes/freezes seem pretty random: sometimes while receiveing a notification or several, sometimes when I Shift+Del an emal in kmail (confirmation popup) and some other times kwin just dies without an obviuos (to me) trigger. [Akonadi] [Bug 452958] New: akonadi's mysql locked with an extraneous SELECT query after resuming from sleep
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=452958 Bug ID: 452958 Summary: akonadi's mysql locked with an extraneous SELECT query after resuming from sleep Product: Akonadi Version: 5.20.0 Platform: Slackware Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: server Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org Reporter: ricardo.barbe...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Hello all, A few seconds after resuming from sleep I see an SQL query running in akonadi's mysql that locks any other operation, e.g.: kmail won't show emails, I can't backup akonadi's DB with mysqldump, etc. This happens everyday after waking my laptop from sleep. If I stop akonadi the mysql server eventually stops accepting connections but a `ps faxu | grep -v grep | grep akonadi` shows it's still running and the only way to stop it is to `kill -9` said process. After that akonadi can be started and everything is OK untill the next sleep/resume cycle. In the mysql log I see lines like these when the stop fails because of this query: 2022-04-23 12:03:46 0 [Note] /usr/libexec/mysqld (initiated by: unknown): Normal shutdown 2022-04-23 12:04:06 0 [Warning] /usr/libexec/mysqld: Thread 6 (user : '') did not exit BTW, if instead of stoping akonadi I issue a shutdown to mysql directly (e.g. mysqladmin --socket=/run/user/$(id -u)/akonadi/mysql.socket shutdown), the mysql server still has to be forcibly killed, so I'm not sure if this is akonadi's fault for sending that SELECT query or a mariadb bug. BTW 2, I don't have the exact SQL query right now and ATM I can't suspend my laptop but I'll update this bug report as soon as I can (later today o tomorrow morning). STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. With akonadi running, put the laptop to sleep 2. Wake up the laptop and monitor akonadi's mysql processes list (e.g. mysqladmin --socket=/run/user/$(id -u)/akonadi/mysql.socket processlist) OBSERVED RESULT There's a SELECT query which never ends and is unkillable EXPECTED RESULT No extraneous SELECT and akonadi/kmail working properly SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Slackware 15.0+ (-current) KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.93.0 Qt Version: 5.15.3 (qt5-5.15.3_20220407_9b1efa0e-x86_64-1) Kernel Version: 5.17.4 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i5-1035G1 CPU @ 1.00GHz Memory: 15.2 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics akonadictl -v: akonadictl 5.20.0 (22.04.0) mysql --version: mysql Ver 15.1 Distrib 10.6.7-MariaDB, for Linux (x86_64) using readline 5.1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Similar bug involving an akonadi crash. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=439769 --- Comment #3 from Ricardo J. Barberis --- I had already done a mysql_upgrade and akonadi's mysqld wouldn't start, so in case this helps other people with a broken akonadi, here's what I did (YMMV): - Under "[mysqld]" in ~/.local/share/akonadi/mysql.conf I added: "innodb_force_recovery = 2" - Made sure it and akonadi were not running, and started mysqld with: /usr/libexec/mysqld --defaults-file=/home/myuser/.local/share/akonadi/mysql.conf --datadir=/home/myuser/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/ --socket=/run/user/1000/akonadi/mysql.socket --pid-file=/run/user/1000/akonadi/mysql.pid & - Then I backed up akonadi's DB and deleted it after: mysqldump -Q --socket=/run/user/1000/akonadi/mysql.socket --add-drop-table akonadi > akonadi.sql mysql--socket=/run/user/1000/akonadi/mysql.socket -e "DROP DATABASE akonadi" - Stoped mysql: mysqladmin -Q --socket=/run/user/1000/akonadi/mysql.socket shutdown - Downgraded MariaDB 10.6.4 to 10.5.11 and started akonadi to recreate its database: akonadictl start - After a few seconds I stopped akonadi and restored the SQL dump: /usr/libexec/mysqld --defaults-file=/home/myuser/.local/share/akonadi/mysql.conf --datadir=/home/myuser/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/ --socket=/run/user/1000/akonadi/mysql.socket --pid-file=/run/user/1000/akonadi/mysql.pid & mysql --socket=/run/user/1000/akonadi/mysql.socket -e akonadi < akonadi.sql - Shut down mysql, started akonadi again: mysqladmin -Q --socket=/run/user/1000/akonadi/mysql.socket shutdown akonadictl start - Started kmail and everything looks good so far! (Before trying all of this , out of caution, I made a backup of my mail folder and everything related to akonadi and kmail I found under ~/.cache/, ~/.config/ and ~/.local/) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[Akonadi] [Bug 440717] New: akonadi incompatible with MariaDB 10.6.4?
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=440717 Bug ID: 440717 Summary: akonadi incompatible with MariaDB 10.6.4? Product: Akonadi Version: unspecified Platform: Slackware Packages OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: server Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org Reporter: ricardo.barbe...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Today I Slackware upgraded MariaDB from 10.5.11 to 10.6.4 and after a reboot akonadi started throwing errors. I started mysql with `/usr/libexec/mysqld --defaults-file=/home/myuser/.local/share/akonadi/mysql.conf --datadir=/home/myuser/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/ --socket=/run/user/1000/akonadi/mysql.socket --pid-file=/run/user/1000/akonadi/mysql.pid &` Then unsuccesfully tried a `mysql_upgrade --socket=/run/user/1000/akonadi/mysql.socket` which seemed to run but in the mysql log I see: error: 'Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'' I also can't connect with `mysql --socket=/run/user/1000/akonadi/mysql.socket`, same "Access denied" error. I killed the mysql process and started it again, ran mysql_upgrade with the same exact result. I made a backup of /home/myuser/.local/share/akonadi and tried downgrading, doing a dump and restore to no avail, I still see logged: DB error: "Incorrect datetime value: '2021-08-07T23:34:22Z' for column `akonadi`.`pimitemtable`.`datetime` at row 1" My biggest problem is that now kmail doesn't work anymore, I tried an empty akonadi database and I may have broken it even more :/ STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Upgrade MariaDB 10.5.x to 10.6.4 2. Start/restart akonadi (e.g. akonadictl start/restart) 3. Check the logs OBSERVED RESULT In akonadi's log: org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: DATABASE ERROR: org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Error code: "1292" org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: DB error: "Incorrect datetime value: '2021-08-07T23:34:22Z' for column `akonadi`.`pimitemtable`.`datetime` at row 1" org.kde.pim.akonadiserver: Error text: "Incorrect datetime value: '2021-08-07T23:34:22Z' for column `akonadi`.`pimitemtable`.`datetime` at row 1 QMYSQL: No es posible ejecutar la consulta" <-- "Unable to execute query" EXPECTED RESULT akonadi working with MariaDB 10.6 SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Slackware 15.0 (beta/current) KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.84.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.13.8 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 8 × Intel® Core™ i5-1035G1 CPU @ 1.00GHz Memory: 15.2 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Mesa Intel® UHD Graphics ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[krunner] [Bug 437364] krunner shortcuts stopped working (upgrade to plasma-5.21.90)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=437364 --- Comment #22 from Ricardo J. Barberis --- FWIW, I had this issue after upgrading to Plasma 5.22.0 and Gear 21.04.2. A couple of day later I upgraded to Frameworks 5.83 and the problem was solved, so I didn't need to upgrade to Plasma 5.22.1 My O.S. is Slackware64 current (a.k.a. 15.0 beta). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kmail2] [Bug 427738] "POP3 Account" stays as the name for each email I set up; have to check setting each time to tell which it is!
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427738 --- Comment #3 from Ricardo J. Barberis --- Hmm, after searching the code for "POP3 Account" I found this 2 lines: https://invent.kde.org/pim/kdepim-runtime/-/blob/master/resources/pop3/accountwidget.cpp#L132 https://invent.kde.org/pim/kdepim-runtime/-/blob/master/resources/pop3/pop3resource.cpp#L43 Which made me think that naming/renaming the accounts should work. And it did! Maybe it's a bug only during creation of the accounts? Just in case, this is what I did: - Opened kmail, went to settings - accounts: All of the names were "POP3 Account" - Edited one by one changing their names, it still showed "POP3 Account" in the list but editing them again showed the right name inside - Closed kmail - Stopped akonadi and started it again - Started kmail, went to settings - accounts: All of the names were those i set! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=381257 Ricardo J. Barberis changed: What|Removed |Added CC||ricardo.barbe...@gmail.com --- Comment #3 from Ricardo J. Barberis --- In newer versions, kmail (and any other application) should remember its size and position automatically, no need for windows rules. At least that works for me. [konsole] [Bug 305162] Konsole notification "Bell in session" should have button to bring up that session
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=305162 --- Comment #10 from Ricardo J. Barberis --- A few months ago I noticed that if I click on a Slack notification it not only focuses the rigth tab in my browser (Opera), it also takes me to the channel where the notificacion originated. So, theoretically this should be possible to implement in Konsole and other apps. In fact, I thought this may actually be working right now. But how to test it?
