https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411591 Robert Riemann changed: What|Removed |Added CC||rob...@riemann.cc --- Comment #1 from Robert Riemann --- No reaction since 2019. I suggest two work arounds for easy access to "reply to all..." 1) the hotkey by default is "A". Just type a and you can reply to all. 2) you can customise the toolbar and add next/instead of "reply..." the tool button "reply to all". I suggest to close this bug report as INTENTIONAL/WORKSFORME. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kmail2] [Bug 341941] Reply from the same address the message was sent to
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=341941 Robert Riemann changed: What|Removed |Added CC||rob...@riemann.cc --- Comment #1 from Robert Riemann --- I think we should distinguish between two slightly different situations: 2) few non-changing recipients (cake of the bug reporter) Create separate identities for each email address and configure the appropriate SMTP sender. Kmail switch to the respective identity when replying to mails. Furthermore, the identity chooser can also be enabled in the composer view, so that users get an easy drop-down selection field to overwrite the identity on a case-by-case (here email) basis. 2) many non-stable recipients due to the use of sub addressing, e.g. myname+onlinesh...@host.com or mycompany+clie...@host.com Here, it is likely not feasible to setup identities for each sub address. Note that there is no common standard for sub addresses. Sometimes it is "+", sometimes it is "-". Hence, detection is non-trivial. As (1) solves the issue of the bug reporter and (2) is somewhat different, I suggest to either close this bug report as solved or change the title to be explicit that this bug report covers now rather (2). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 487780] New: Fullscreen game stutter when Plasma receives notifications.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=487780 Bug ID: 487780 Summary: Fullscreen game stutter when Plasma receives notifications. Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 6.0.5 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: performance Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: robert.biel...@outlook.com Target Milestone: --- *** If you're not sure this is actually a bug, instead post about it at https://discuss.kde.org If you're reporting a crash, attach a backtrace with debug symbols; see https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** SUMMARY When playing fullscreen games, in particular games using Steam Proton and DXVK (most likely all fullscreen games), there is a momentary drop in frame rate as the desktop notification is received and again as it disappears. It is important to clarify that nothing actually renders over the game, only the momentary stutter that corresponds with the time the notification would appear on the desktop had the game not been running fullscreen. This should not be happening since nothing is actually rendered over the game and nothing should be disturbing the rendering process with direct scanout working consistently. This happens with all notifications and is most noticeable for me with KDE Connect messages from my phone. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Make sure "Screen Tearing: Allow in fullscreen windows" is enabled in Plasma display configuration. 2. Launch a Vulkan game in fullscreen mode. 3. Set VSync in the game or a constant frame rate so that the game is perfectly smooth (Preferably use a Vulkan hood such as DXVK_HUD with frametimes graph overlay). 4. Trigger a desktop notification such as a text message with KDE Connect via Android. 5. Observe a sudden momentary stutter and corresponding spike in the frametime graph when a notification comes in to the desktop such as KDE Connect and once again when it disappears. OBSERVED RESULT A momentary stutter and spike in frametime is observed when Plasma gets a notification in an otherwise perfectly smooth VSync'd game experience. EXPECTED RESULT The frame rate should remain perfectly smooth with no stutter during background notification reception and frametimes should be consistent all the time. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=407393 Robert Junior changed: What|Removed |Added CC||jun...@tyincoming.com --- Comment #12 from Robert Junior --- Git commit aef14f05c994d71db290511ac26864b1073470a6 by Nate Graham. Committed on 02/06/2021 at 21:01. Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master' https://tubidy.diy/. Make results delegate list items a bit taller with bigger icons We generally use the smallMedium (22px) icon size for small-ish-but-not-too-small icons as they have a better visual balance with adjacent text, compared to the small (16px) icon size. 22px icons also generally look better than 16px icons. Moving the results list items to use smallMedium icons offers a better visual balance, and adding a tiny of vertical padding balances out everything a bit more to provide more "breathing room" between the rows https://y2mate.diy/. As a consequence, the maximum number of results visible at once has to decrease a bit, but this is generally not a major problem as the user can simply keep typing to refine their search to find what it is they're looking for https://emp3juice.blog/. [korganizer] [Bug 486836] New: more privacy for event invitees when sending out calendar invitees or share ICS files
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486836 Bug ID: 486836 Summary: more privacy for event invitees when sending out calendar invitees or share ICS files Classification: Applications Product: korganizer Version: 6.0.2 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: invitations Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org Reporter: rob...@riemann.cc Target Milestone: --- I tagged this as a feature request. However, in some regions with strict privacy laws demanding "data minimisation" and privacy by default, this could be interpreted as a legal obligation that would merit a classification as bug. SUMMARY KOrganizer allows to share event details with invitees using two ways: 1. add people as participants 2. right click on event and click on "send as iCalendar..." In both cases, the names and mail addresses of invitees are revealed to other invitees, thus impacting their privacy. Note that in all cases, the actual contact data sharing is not made transparent to the event organiser. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. create a new event 2. add two people as invitees 3. see that each invitee can see in the email all other invitees 4. go back to Korganiser and click right on an event in the month view, choose in the context menu "send as iCalendar" and add two mail addresses 5. find in the sent mail folder that both mail addresses are in the "to" instead of "bcc" OBSERVED RESULT Invitees see mail addresses and names of other invitees. EXPECTED RESULT Invitees can only see mail addresses and names of other invitees if the event organiser has made an explicit choice to share this data. Linux/KDE Plasma: 6.0 I am using Kontact flatpak 6.0.2 from the fedora repository. According to some Matrix channel, the fedora flatpak is built the same way like the KDE kontact flatpak on flathub. It > seems some invalid index is accessed and I can't see where is it going from. > Moreover, I can't reproduce the issue - does the recent folders list have to > be empty or something? Or can somebody reproduce the issue under valgrind? With current software, I cannot reproduce the issue from two years ago. I tried several variations of this procedure: - Open Gwenview, or click 'Home' icon if already open. - Click 'Recent Locations' in the 'Places' tab. - The 'Recent Locations' window is displayed. - Click the 'Home' icon. - The 'Recent Folders' sub-window/tab and the 'Places' sub-window/tab are displayed. - {Click | Double click | Click, } 'recentlyused:/locations/' in the 'Recent Folders' tab. - The 'Recent Locations' window is displayed. I also created a new user to repeat the tests with initially empty 'Recent Folders' and 'Recent Locations'. There were no problems at all. That doesn't happen on the playlist and with long track names you're uncertain which track is in the queue if there are similar names in that album. To find out I'm forced to use 'Edit track details' - typically I want to add the tracks with similar names to the playlist to go with the track that's been added by the dynamic playlist I'm using by then going to 'Show in Media Sources'. [dolphin] [Bug 466115] [Regression] Custom horizontal lines/bars in context menu no longer possible
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=466115 --- Comment #6 from Robert-André Mauchin --- Fix proposal: https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/kio/-/merge_requests/1608 Commit 33785332 has purposely ordered actions by their name. However, this break separators in service context menus. For example: Actions=progressive;optimize;SEPARATOR;compress_50;compress_70;compress_75 The separator would end up at the end of the list: Actions=compress_50;compress_70;compress_75;progressive|optimize;SEPARATOR And since the logic check is the separator is the last item to add it: !actions.last()->isSeparator() separators basically disappear from service context menus. The purpose of this commit is then to create groups of actions between each separator. I have a hot-swappable bays on my computer. I would like either a custom icon or a custom suffix to distinguish them from non-removable drives. (hot swap is an option in the UEFI so, is it detectable by Linux? has Dolphin not implemented the feature?) for example "foo_drive", would become "(hot) Foo_Drive" or "(SATA4) Foo_Drive" etc.. . Have observed messages "lost" on send, unexpected loading behavior, etc. EXPECTED RESULT The ability to receive and send SMS messages. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 12 KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.10 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.107.0 Qt Version: 5.15.10 Kernel Version: 6.6.15-amd64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 8-Core Processor Memory: 31.3 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Product Name: X570 AORUS MASTER System Version: -CF PROPOSAL: When I began looking at this I thought the original fix to this issue might be caching messages to a local DB and revising that implementation, but I have had another idea I want to share with the developer. I think may take significantly less time and testing. I believe this is observed behavior that is behind many bug reports on this site, and off-site threads I have observed exploring KDEConnect (stack, reddit, etc.). I have deleted over 130k of my messages to reduce the SMS load to a more reasonable "1 year of history" and have roughly 35k messages. With this done, the app is snappy and works great, as expected. I believe allowing a configuration setting for the plugin (or perhaps it best lives in the KDEConnect app to reduce SMS parsing?) to only load the last "X" messages or since "Y" date would fix many performance issues and give 99% of users the experience they are looking for - the ability to respond to relatively recent messages with snappy performance and reliable transit, without adding additional logic to caching messages or establishing new databases/data integrity. I believe most users want to respond to current messages, or messages from recent memory, when using this program effectively. Adding these settings would be a "low cost" way to address performance issues for large SIM databases without asking users to delete messages from their record source. Thanks for your consideration. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
