Yes, Pressing V does insert clips onto the timeline.

I've also noticed I cannot drag an effect onto a video clip in the timeline
either

Im having the same issue

Using Ubuntu 23.04 on X11

The latest version from the package manager in ubuntu (Installed via snap)

Happy to provide more info if needed, Just thought Id put some more activity on
this bug
