[kdeconnect] [Bug 473829] New: Let users pick the type of device they've connected

Bug ID: 473829
Summary: Let users pick the type of device they've connected
Classification: Applications
   Product: kdeconnect
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: postmarketOS
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: common
  Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com
  Reporter: scary_...@tuta.io
CC: andrew.g.r.hol...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Getting SMS messages to work properly is an exercise in futility. I'm not sure
where the stopgap is but one issue I've found is that it doesn't see my
Pinephone as an actual phone but rather as just a generic Linux device. I
connected to an Android phone and I saw that there are a few more options
available.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect phone
2. Open KDE Connect SMS

OBSERVED RESULT
"No Devices Available"

EXPECTED RESULT
Device is seen and connects.

It should be noted that I'm not a developer and I don't know how to code. I
only know how to complain and point out problems/make suggestions. I tried to
tell the PostmarketOS guys in the Matrix and they told me to come to you guys,
so I made an account and have done so.
