2024-02-15 Thread Sebastian Turzański
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=394889

HI all
I was able to narrow down the case

When sending a signed mail with default openPGP for an account all works fine
if I send it instantly.
All works fine if I you send later but without openPGP signature

If I select send later the openPGP signed mail is put to OUTBOX and sits there
.
When I try to open this message to see or modify it kmail or kontact crashes.
This bug has been bothering me for years but now I narrowed it down to the case
where it only happens with SIGNED mails that are opened from outbox folder.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create openPGP signed mail
2. Send it with "send later" option
3. Go to outbox and try to open this mail

OBSERVED RESULT
Kmail/Kontact crashes , when you run it again kmail opens it's main windows
plus addtional windows with the signed outbox mail it failed to open before
crash

Hi
Full Wayland latest plasma 5 session on OpenSuse Tumbleweed.

Here is the video, until 00:31 I do ctrl + mouse wheel up to zoom in, from
00:31 I do mouse wheel down to zoom out but it zooms in instead.
https://youtu.be/0JYiIwrTpd8

2 more obervations.
Split view is not required to reproduce.

you can simply :
1. open dolphin
2. zoom in to 30%-80% with ctrl + mouse wheel up
3. close dolphin
4. reopen dolphin to see the same state as it was (good)
5. try to zoom out with ctrl + mouse wheel down and you will experience a zoom
in instead. To overcome it ,release ctrl and retry, now it will zoom out.

I completely agree, there should be a default low limit like 100MB but i guess
this for a dedicated MYSQL instance that handles akonadi db so the config
should be somehow in akonadi. Don't know the design so I'm guessing it's not
for user to mess with it.

When I have a single (horizontal) display the top panel is covered by menu with

I may have similar issue but instead of blurry flicker I get partly invisible
items, for example when I right click on a desktop an I get the desktop context
menu.
But important - I only get it when I have a secondary display connected and set
on the left of main and current display ?!

My setup - latest plasma 5.27.7
Nvidia

See attachment with part of the menu invisible and a border kind of visible

I know what the issue was.
I was not using the settings center. Instead I always used this new widget in
the tray that allows to selected display layout (switch to external display)

When I do everything in the configuration center all works as expected.

Is that the idea that the widget is not persistent?

My external monitor connected via Displaylink USB-C dock is selected as the
primary and only monitor while my laptop's build-in display is disabled.
I have to set it up this way after each reboot as the settings are lost after
reboot.

STEPS TO REPRODUCEI confirm the same behavior - to me it started with Plasma

3. Change preference via kcontrolcenter to switch off internal laptop display

Maybe its a different case but might be related
I attached screenshots of Eclipse IDE and DBeaver apps. BOth are unusable on my
setup :
- plasma 5.24 on Opensuse Tumbleweed
- 4k screen
- 200%scaling

the issues you see on the screenshots are :
- decomposition of icons/menus
- unusable tables
- some scroll areas only take a quarter of the space available leaving
remaining canvas unused/wasted

the same for Dell XPS 9700 with 17" 4k screen. No option to select lower
resolutions that are available in gnome wayland.
For resolutions that are "uncertain" a temporary change with confirmation
dialog and timeout should be implemented to revert the changes if configuration
is not confirmed as working.

I narrowed down one group of crashes.
revieviewing commit you have the bottons to jump to differences. Kdevelop
crashes almost always when I click "next difference"
it was the same since 5.2 that I was using previously.
