[kwin] [Bug 402857] Touchpad gestures should be configurable

sorry to pile on, really like KDE Plasma. the trackpad gestures just aren't
configurable. i don't mind the 4 finger swiping, but 4 finger swiping down to
pull up an overview isn't intuitive. the way Apply implements it is intuitive,
in my opinion, anyway. 3 fingers swiping up gets you the overview, then 3
finger swipe back down returns to normal view. 3 fingers left or right moves
desktops. the number of fingers isn't the issue, really (although 3 would be
nice), it's the direction of the swipes. but just to have them freely
configurable would be the best outcome. thanks for all the work y'all do!

After taking a screen shot, if you click on the option to open the file in its
destination folder, Dolphin isn't what's used. It appears that the system uses
GNOME's file system utility (not sure if that's the right term). It doesn't
hinder usage in any way, just unexpected/quirky/inconsistent. I'm not sure if
Plasma 6 addresses it.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. take screen shot
2. click the option to open the containing folder
3. take a look at the window that pops up, as well as its icon in the Task
Manager

KScreen screenshot of my displays

SUMMARY:
Two identical displays plugged into different DisplayPorts are
indistinguishable. Every clean install of KDE, I have to mess with settings and
guess which monitor is the correct monitor. As shown in the attachment, there
is nothing in KScreen to guide me as both displays report the same name/info.

OBSERVED RESULT:
Identical display names

EXPECTED RESULT:
More distinguishable factors such as connector names included on the applet

This may be a duplicate of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431747

The only difference is that my experience is on the initial setup screen. The
other report is in the application itself. It's very likely that it's the same
issue, however, they moved config files over from an old system which probably
let them skip setting a name.

2021-12-28 Thread Seth
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447618

Bug ID: 447618
Summary: Unable to interest with name field on initial setup
   Product: ktouch
   Version: 21.08.3
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major

 Component: general

SUMMARY
I've just installed KTouch via Flatpak.
I'm unable to use the application on Debian, as I can't type a name in initial
setup of KTouch.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install KTouch via Flatpak.
2. Launch KTouch.
3. Attempt to interact with the name field.

OBSERVED RESULT
The name field can't be interacted with, which also prevents the "Start
Training" button from being enabled.

EXPECTED RESULT
I should be able to just type a name and use the application as normal.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
OS: Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye) x86_64
Desktop Environment: GNOME 3.38.6

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I previously used KTouch on Ubuntu 20.04, and it worked perfectly fine. I'm now
on Debian 11 with a very similar system otherwise.

This is what is logged in the terminal when I launch it via `flatpak run
org.kde.ktouch`:

Sorry about the late reply, I've been a bit busy - but for the global theme I
was using Breeze and the color scheme was Breeze Light.
I'm still able to reproduce this on Plasma 5.23.4/Frameworks 5.88.0

I used the Light Theme preset in the Quick Settings panel in settings.

[Breeze] [Bug 444993] Incorrect name for BreezeDark ColorScheme in kdeglobals

2021-11-04 Thread Seth
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=444993

I've also noticed errors in reporting in other fields like [General] with the
same steps to reproduce. It seems the BreezeDark ColorScheme is correctly
reported in this field, but the name of the theme is still Breeze Light when it
should be Breeze Dark.

Example:
```
[General]
ColorScheme=BreezeDark
Name=Breeze Light
```

[krita] [Bug 437387] Hang after magnetic selection undo

2021-05-20 Thread Seth Burgess
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=437387

I closed the loop by clicking the first point, then clicked it again to
create the selection. I then hit control-z to undo. When I tried to start
making another selection with the tool, it would hang. Reproduced 3 times
in a row for me.

I can try to make a video later tonight.

Thanks,

Seth

[kdenlive] [Bug 432743] Crash on Adding Movie to Bin

2021-02-18 Thread Seth
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432743

I am no longer able to reproduce this issue.
Since creating this, I have reinstalled my operating system for other reasons.
Kdenlive is now able to read both examples perfectly fine now.

Differences:
Operating System Version: Ubuntu 18.04 -> Ubuntu 20.04
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.78.0 -> 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.12.2 -> 5.14.1
Package Manager: flatpak -> snap

Logs on launching via snap:
https://gist.github.com/SethFalco/1478119e8716ead9b34eddab118b3b7d

I also tried the flatpak version with the following differences:
Operating System Version: Ubuntu 18.04 -> Ubuntu 20.04

But Kdenlive was still capable of loading both files without error.

Logs on launching via flatpak:
https://gist.github.com/SethFalco/13b78cbfca1b6e4890d44be2d85cbe8d

This issue can probably be closed if there isn't enough information to diagnose
an actual problem. I didn't get the chance to test your suggestions either.

2021-02-10 Thread Seth
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432743

Bug ID: 432743
Summary: Crash on Adding Movie to Bin
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 20.12.2
  Platform: Flatpak
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Video Display & Export
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: s...@elypia.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When I try to add a certain large file to the bin, Kdenlive completely crashes.

Not 100% sure what the cause is, so I'm hoping the logs and ffprobe will help.
I'm readily available to provide additional information on this issue.

If required, I can send one of the files that causes the problem privately. As
they are protected by copyright, I don't think it's a good idea to attach/link
it here.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch Kdenlive and have a new or existing project open.
2. Import a video to the bin. (I've tried this via the "Add Clip or Folder",
and by dragging a video into the bin from Nautilus.)
3. Observe crash.

OBSERVED RESULT
Kdenlive crashes.

EXPECTED RESULT
Kdenlive should ideally be able to open it as normal, as it can open in other
programs. However, if there is indeed a problem, users should be able to get a
dialog that reports why the video failed to import.

Currently, we can use right-click to copy and paste layers, this is especially
useful for copying a specific layer to paste it in another application like
Discord.

Unfortunately, the shortcuts, CTRL + C, CTRL + X, and CTRL + V don't work in
Krita when trying to copy a layer.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a multi layered project in Krita.

-- Information about the crash:
I just oppened a new tab in Google Chrome when Kwin crashed. It must be the
same Nvidia bug that made Kwin crash last time. Unfortinataeky I have to use
the Beat with the newer Kernel. Hopefully Nvidia will have a final soon and fix
the Kwin Xrash Bug. I am also supprised that Korgi could not find my other
crash reports on the same thing so I am submmiting a new one.
