Or disabling trash for specific drives/network drives mounted via fstab. I
would like my server to handle the trash, not the client

[plasmashell] [Bug 465964] Panel pop-ups sometimes open on the wrong screen after set of connected screens changes

2023-03-01 Thread Tarballwalf
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=465964

I believe I got the patch already, as it hasn't happened for a week now.
Probably I have also rushed with this bug report, as I got really frustrated
when docking my laptop and, as stated in the report, needing a shell restart or
complete system restart.

Also want to thank the KDE team for this amazing release, it's the most stable
yet!

[plasmashell] [Bug 466372] Selection menu does not appear under cursor

2023-02-28 Thread Tarballwalf
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=466372

I'm on the latest 5.27.2, it seems this is not a multi monitor issue. as I was
able to reproduce this on a number of devices, along with friends being able to
do so, on single monitors setups

And again, this happens on both X11 and Wayland, latest 5.27.2 and older
versions, so it seems it's either a Dolphin issue, or plasmashell. I have no
idea where else I could find that menu to test on

(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #10)
> Are the screens overlapping by one pixel when this happens?
Screens do not seem to be overlapping, any way to properly check this?

> When you experience the issue, you manually re-arrange screens and *ensure*
> that they're not overlapping, does it stop happening?
I'm no longer able to replicate the issue. I have docked and undocked my laptop
~20 times, and couldn't be able to reproduce.
I had a problem recently and had to completely reinstall my system, possibly
fixing the issue

2. Notice how the menu appears way under the cursor

Correct. Along with the panels not getting properly sized, it's hard to
replicate. The panel itself remains at the same old resolution (in terms of
witdh), and the components shift to the right side without the panel itself
extending its blur effect

SUMMARY
Sometimes plugging in a new monitor results in the whole desktop breaking,
apples appearing on the side of the old screen, panels not extending. Requiring
a shell restart and/or a whole system reboot

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Dock Laptop/Plug in a new display
2. Click on any tray apple and notice how they are on different display

happening.

reprezentation of the poor perfromance, along with the observed temporary fix

SUMMARY
Trying to take a region capture while having a mixed DPI display setup results
in spectacle servery lagging/dropping performance. This issue seems to happen
even if the display has already been connected (not docking the laptop
resulting in a "new" display to be attached)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have a mixed DPI setup (100% and 120% in my case)
2. Try taking a region capture

OBSERVED RESULT
Selection starts lagging

EXPECTED RESULT
Should be buttery smooth, just like on one monitor

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro KDE (Unstable branch)
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.103.0
Qt Version: 5.15.8

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Running on Plasma Wayland session
Going into settings and disabling and re-enabling the scaled display seems to
temporarily fix this issue
