Something like that. Maybe not red as it's often used to indicate errors. Isn't
there some color constants for each theme you can use for highlight?

Akonadi has - again - crapped out, resulting in a non-functioning kdepim, so I
can't test it myself.
It does look a bit sharper, but my old eyes would prefer some more distinction.

In what context is a light background an issue? I fail to see the relevanse
here.

> In the KMail version I use, there's a "Do not change color from original
> HTML mail" option on the Appearance / Colors tab. Did you already try it?

This doesn't make any difference for most HTML emails, but for plain text it
has the unwanted effect of reversing the dark theme. See attachment.

Looking at #365315 it looks like an Akregator issue as it sounds like doesn't
honour any HTML/CSS defined colours. In KMail there is a difference between the
text view and the HTML view.

[kmail2] [Bug 414100] Text not visible when using dark theme

2020-11-08 Thread Thomas Tanghus
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414100

As I wrote in #428500 Many if not all HTML mail composers assumes that the
background is light, and thus doesn't specify a background colour. If you use
e.g. Breeze dark it often leads to black letters on dark grey background.
Here it could possibly be solved by having a light background in HTML emails
per default, perhaps with an option in Settings/Appearance/Colors.

If the HTML email has a background defined it will be automatically rendered
instead, and if it has a background defined there's a high probability that it
also sets the font colour(s).

It would - as far as I can see - solve both #317803 and #317198 and it would
leave a very small (theoretical) subset where the text is difficult to read, as
opposed to now when it is a very small subset that is easily readable.

Thanks for catching my duplicate btw. I'm pretty sure I searched for "dark
theme" but didn't get any results - but I could be wrong ;)

SUMMARY
When switching back and forth between e.g. calendar view and To-do view, the
to-do view forgets column width. Annoying, because, at least how I organize it,
the Categories column should always be much wider.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open korganizer in To-do view.
2. Adjust column with.
3. Change to Calendar->month view and change back.

OBSERVED RESULT
The columns are back to their original width

The column widths should be remembered.

SUMMARY
I recently reinstalled/upgraded to Kubuntu 19.04, and wanted to see, if kde-pim
stability had improved. I was first very pleasantly surprize-d - for a while.
Now it's the calendar that's acting up.

I have 4 calendars in my Nextcloud instance. They all work fine in Thunderbird,
Nextcloud web-client and to a certain degree in SailfishOS.
Two times within a week, the calendar, where I keep the events (the others are
for Tasks, Journal and Contact Birthdays) doesn't show any events in Month
view.
First time I Shut down akonadi, removed every trace of the Nextcloud Akonadi
agent, and recreated it.
It worked fine for a day or two, but now the events are not showing up in
korganizer. Again, it shows perfectly fine in other clients, and I can see the
events in akonadiconsole.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Configure a Nextcloud agent.
2. Wait

OBSERVED RESULT
The calendar disappears after some time.

EXPECTED RESULT
I should be able to use the calendar.

Where the interesting line is:

qt.network.ssl: QSslSocket::startClientEncryption: cannot start handshake on
non-plain connection

The smtp setting is set to use STARTTLS with PLAIN authentication. But maybe
that's another kinda 'plain'? ;)

Also:

- I tried restarting 'Mail dispatcher Agent'. 'No items in queue' or something
like that.

- The composed email is copied to the 'Sent' folder, but of course there are no
delivery headers.
- And it isn't in the outbox (local folder).

So it doesn't look like #192046

Oh btw: There was a large update a couple of days ago, with what looked like
KDE Frameworks.

A couple of years ago I had to ditch kdepim for Thunderbird, and now after a
reinstall I was so glad to be back, as everything seemed to work ok.
I had used kmail since it started and loved it very much, but I have to say
after a couple of years using Thunderbird I never had reasons to file a bug
report. Now after max a couple of weeks kmail/akonadi is basically useless to
me. So sad :(

[korganizer] [Bug 411041] New: Unable to filter to-do view

2019-08-18 Thread Thomas Tanghus
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=411041

Bug ID: 411041
Summary: Unable to filter to-do view
   Product: korganizer
   Version: 5.10.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: todoview
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: tho...@tanghus.net
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 19
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=19=edit
Disabled filter dialog

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. In Kontact To-do view there is a menu entry View->Filter. When clicking on
Filter, there is one entry with a radio button saying "No filter".
2. Selecting "Settings->Manage View Filters..." it open a modal dialog where
everything except the Search field is disabled, and where there are no filters.

OBSERVED RESULT
As above

EXPECTED RESULT
You should get a dialog, where you can add/delete/modify filters

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.61.0
Qt Version: 5.12.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is a new installation, but I kept my /home partition. I did - to the best
of my ability - clean up everything pertaining to Akonadi, as I had had to give
up to Thunderbird for a couple of years. And besides these minor annoyances so
far I'm glad to be back :)

[plasmashell] [Bug 350944] Clicking on systray icon yields unpredictable result

2018-02-26 Thread Thomas Tanghus
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=350944

--- Comment #7 from Thomas Tanghus <tho...@tanghus.net> ---
(In reply to Alexander Mentyu from comment #6)
> Although results in my previous comment may be due to Focus stealing

Setting Focus stealing prevention to High does indeed bring Clementine to the
foreground, but it still doesn't hide again when clicked on systray, and it
prevents the Plasma Launcher from showing.
Isn't it application specific, since it happens differently on different apps?
I haven't coded Qt/Plasma for years, so I have no idea on how to implement
window rules.
